We have stayed in this apartment a few times over the years and love it. It's very clean, comfortable and has everything we need. It's an ideal walking distance to the centre of the village. Claudio is a perfect host and always responds to questions promptly. Thank you for your care and friendship over the years. We will be returning and can't recommend you enough. Stayed in this apartment from a week. Everything we needed was provided. We would definitely stay again. Claudio was a great host.

The apartment was well situated and very clean. Can’t think of anything.

Claudio is the best possible Property Manager..from the warm welcome on our arrival to the fond farewell when we left.. he was brilliant. The apartment is spotlessly clean and well equipped, and the last 4 days we were there the local noisy building work was coming to an end. The property is ideally situated for the town and coast, and the excellent local supermarket is only 200 metres away. We had an excellent 3 week holiday with mostly warm ,sunny days.

Property clean and well presented. Claudio is a very helpful owner. Perhaps stronger heating beneficial in January. Very convenient for access to centre of Alvor.

This is our 2nd time visiting these apartments check in process was smooth . Lovely touch of basket of fruit, water. Coffees and teas. Spotless apartment. Close to restaurants, supermarket. Quiet location. Looking forward to returning again Couldn’t fault anything

A comfortable 2 bed apartment, owned by a very helpful and friendly family. The welcome was very warm, as was the apartment with the wood burning fire being lit, as well as a nice welcome pack of basic foods, fruit and wine. The living room was also nicely decorated for Xmas. The living areas and bedrooms are very nice and comfortable and the property has a good size balcony that gets sun in the afternoon. We thought the bathrooms let the property down some what. Old fashioned shower curtains rather than screens and a number of cracked tiles and holes in the walls where fittings had been removed. The owner had said he hoped the work on the adjoining building site would be finished by the time we arrived. Unfortunately that was not the case. At times it was rather noisy, especially if sitting on the balcony. I guess in 3 or 4 months most of the work should be finished. On Xmas eve the owner and his wife visited us and gave us a Portuguese Xmas Cake which was very kind. He also dealt very quickly when we had a problem with the hot water and called to say good bye just before we left.

Casa Mateus is a beautiful apartment and Claudio and his team do everything in their power to make it as comfortable and homely as possible, even to having a lovely fire lit for our arrival. Unfortunately during our stay there was a lot of building activity at a number of sites in close proximity to the apartment and it was very noisy. I have to say that Claudio was very accommodating and we ended up having a very enjoyable holiday in Alvor and cant wait to go back! The location of the apartment is excellent, being a five minute walk into the town with its numerous restaurants, shops and bars and of course the Boardwalk and beach. The work should be finished soon and I would definitely go back to Alvor and Casa Mateus, if possible!

The apartment is great - good size, good layout and well equipped. The pool is lovely and not busy. It's in a great position - slightly out of the centre so it is quiet but only a short walk (5 minutes) takes you into the thick of everything. 15 - 20 minute walk to the beach. There was building working on near the apartment when we were there and it was noisy at times but that will be finished soon so will not be an issue for long. Claudio was a great host too.

Very spacious comfortable apartment. Really well presented and kitted out. Fruit and wine welcoming basket was a lovely touch.Two minute walk into the town centre. Beach about five minutes further. Fifty yards from a great supermarket. A little noise from builders nearby at times but it’s temporary and we were out for most of the day in any case. Overall a great relaxing break Peter & Ailish

Our second stay in this apartment, it is very spacious and comfortable for families of 3 or 4. Very clean, very convenient - it has everything you need and is just short walk to the beach, restaurants, shops. Claudio is a fantastic host and we hope he will let us stay again in the future! A lovely host and a perfect apartment.

This is a fantastic property, immaculately clean and modern with everything you require for a short or long term stay, inclusive of toiletries. It is an easy walk to all restaurants, bars and shops. In addition a large supermarket is only a few minutes away. Claudio was so responsive to all email correspondence from the time of first booking, to assisting in letting us access the property to facilitate our early arrival time in Alvor. He had also left a welcome pack of fruit and wine which was much appreciated. We would highly recommend this spacious apartment however there was considerable building taking place adjacent to the property resulting in noise pollution from early morning until 6.00 pm, and we did not therefore use the balcony. We were also without running water on our last evening and morning of departure which transpired although it was throughout Alvor we had received no notification and we’re unable to make provision in purchasing additional bottled water as we thought it was a temporary problem in the apartment.

From the exceptionally warm greeting to the friendly occasional encounters. I may have compared our host to a super hero. This apartment as so clean, extremely well furnished, comfortable and situated in a such a great location, it was hard to leave. I would recommend this place without any hesitation. Just recently back from another great stay at Claudios apartment.As with other reviews Claudio is a real gentleman and a credit to his wonderful apartments.This one is so central to everything and very clean and tidy.You will not go wrong if you book this.Claudio will meet you at the airport and return you and will be on hand if you need anything.Hope to stay again in the future. Arrived for a three month holiday in October and can't believe how fast the time has gone! A warm and friendly welcome from Claudio who met me at the airport, and a welcome basket of coffee, teas and fruit ( and wine...!!) at the apartment made for a good start to my stay. The apartment was equipped with everything I needed to be a home from home and was very comfortable and modern. Many happy afternoons spent relaxing on the balcony soaking up some much needed sun - am already saving for my next trip. Thank you Claudio and Ana :-) xx

We stayed here last year. Perfect for a family holiday, that's why we returned! Lots of new updates; Smart TV, Coffee Machine, Extra Air-conditioning. Claudio really looks after his apartments and everywhere was very fresh & clean. We were sometimes the only family round the pool. Lovely big terrace/balcony area. Great location, facilities and the team who manage are doing a fabulous job. Thank you for the warm welcome (including the fruit & wine). We will hopefully return sometime in the future.
