no-one at reception. guests had problems checking in. staff at breakfast came across as inexperienced and rude.

Our room (booked as "Dreibettzimmer") turned out to be a large modern apartment with one large bedroom (with double bed) and a single bed located between an open-plan dining and living area (with sofa), separated by curtain from the very same. Next to the dining area there was a kitchen (equipped with cutlery and plates for 4 and also pots and all necessary utensils to make a meal apart from e.g. cooking oil). Tea and coffee making facilities in the kitchen. Separate bathroom with shower over bath, fairly-sized. Towels, shampoo and soap were being provided (no tissues though). The whole apartment was sparkly clean. Breakfast was buffet-style with a wide range of options (incl. fresh fruit) and also e.g. scrambled eggs and other delicious options were freshly made-to-order as well. We had a nice view of the castle from our room and this prompted us to visit the very same after breakfast before we continued our journey.

Be aware that the stairs are quite steep. We had an elderly person in our company and it was a challenge to get up and down. No shower curtain in the bathroom. Communication could be improved, especially regarding check-in.

The owner - Steffen and the lovely lady that took our breakfast orders every morning were great and really good cooks. The room we had was like a pent house it was that big. Loved it!

Everything was great and a great location

Everything, beautiful apartment, great staff and fabulous food.

We stayed with the 3 of us at the Comfort Vierbettzimmer, which has a great view on the castle! Very spacious apartment with a nice kitchen for a reasonable price. Great beds. Had a nice meal at the Greek 'Sirtaki', because the hotel restaurant was closed on Sundays. Free parking close to the hotel. We did a nice (but steep) walk to the castle and around the town: crossing the Auma river multiple times.

We knew we had to take the stairs, but it was indeed quite a climb on the circulair stairs to the top floor - no elevator. Personnel could be a bit more friendly. No shower curtain or screen, so the bathroom becomes a mess. After the first day we skipped the breakfast: for EUR 33,- for 3 persons we prefered a local bakery. Apartment kitchen was not so well equiped, but we did not really use it anyway. Although the room was really great, somehow the atmosphere of the hotel was not the way we like it.

The room was renovated with all you could need including a fan for a hot night. Nice clean bathroom The bar in the room was free and there is tea and coffee in the room. There were nice touches such as sweets on the bed and chocolates at the end of the meal. The terrasse looked nice although we could not eat there as it was busy. The evening food was very good and plentiful.

The restaurant was very busy when we arrived. We had to wait for a meal which was understandable. But the chef /owner ? was not very pleasant and made us feel unwelcome. We assume we arrived at the wrong time on a busy day. The lady at breakfast was however very nice.

I was apparently the only guest in the entire hotel. The reception desk is not visible as you enter the place. but you have full view of the clutered kitchen to your left, right near the entrance. I had to walk all the way to the back of the hotel to find someone to talk my reservation and check in. The fellow I met doing some hauling, asked for my name, checked his phone and asked if I wanted to book breakfast for 8 Euros too. I replied yes. Then he just took me upstairs and handed me the key to the room and some towels. No check in form to sign, no computer to enter the guess information in, and no payment was requested at the time. Next morning, again in the the breakfast room, I was the only one present (at 8 am local time), no other guests. There was half-cold decanter of coffee, no english breakfast tea, no hot water,. Just some cereals including corn flakes, some milk, apples and butter and jam, but no sliced bread or other pasteries. Just some bread rolls. When a lady walked in, she asked if I wanted coffee or tea? THen she brought some hot water, but again, no breakfast tea bags. I asked her to make me an omlette. Which arrived 5 minutes later, completly bland without even a slice of tomatoo. Overall, the breakfast was poor and not worth the hassle or the price. On the last day, someone came and knocked on my door at 9:00 and asked me to pay - no phone inside the room perhaps could be the reason? When I went downstairs to pay, the same lady who had prepared the omlettee, was standing inside the restaurant before a cash register and presented me the hotel bill: 70 Euros for the room and 16 Euros for the breakfast - even though breakfast is listed at 8 Euros per person and I was alone throughout the stay, as she also witnessed in the breakfast room, After my objection she revised the bill and removed the extra 8 euros for the breakfast. All in all, the stay was pleasant, but next time I will stay elsewhere.
