The owner was very helpful getting my bags upstairs. Nice big room, clean and well decorated. Very quiet. The breakfast buffet was very impressive. There is a restaurant on site most nights, but I can't report on that as I was too tired to try it. Lots of parking in front. The New Forest is very close. I entered via a side road and met a delightful assortment of pigs, horses and donkeys!

Although the room was big, the en-suite bathroom was a bit more cramped. Everything was there, and accessible, except that the shower door was too close to the sink, which made it a tight squeeze for someone of my excessive girth! The window coverings are blinds, not curtains. Fine if you're used to blinds, but it's been a few decades for me, so it took a while to remember the knack.

Lovely continental breakfast. Fresh fruit, croissants, toast hams, and cheeses from 7.30 in the morning. Really nice clean rooms and well thought out

Toni and Paul together with their family are extremely welcoming. Everything is clean and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is delicious and the rooms very well furnished. The evening meals are delicious. The location is central for the forest, Winchester and Beaulieu.

I'd love a full English in the week.

The room was luxurious, extremely well thought out & had its own individual, eclectic style. It was very comfortable with unique furniture & wall coverings. Lighting options were exceptional as I prefer low key so worked perfectly for me, but also adapts well for others wanting more light. Bathroom clean & bright with good size shower. My evening meal was of a high standard & delicious. Good menu choice. Lovely ambience. Despite only offering a Continental Breakfast during the week, it exceeded my expectations. There was a good selection of cereals, bread, pastries etc together with yogurt & an incredible selection of fresh fruit. More than enough to fill you up & start your day well satisfied.

There wasn't really anything I didn't like about the property apart from its location being so close to the main road, as I am quite sensitive to noise. However, I did still sleep well & appreciate it is not something that can really be addressed. warm, friendly environment comfortable, comfy, creamy, delicate, easy, and elastic

The food. I had lamb skewers with mediterranean vegetables in the evening, which was excellent. The breakfast was very good too and cooked as I had requested it. Very clean room with what looked like, a new bathroom with a corner shower cubicle. Proper thick towels with a full sized bath sheet!

The personnel was very friendly and nice. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The bistro offered very good dinner and English breakfast. Can be recommended! Walking in New forest among the ponies is a really unique experience. Stop by the acres down farm in Lyndhurst for tea and scones!

The hotel is charming but it’s not really a “chateau”, don’t be misled by the name.

I was not keen on the room I was allocated. It was dark and uninviting

stayed for two nights, Paul and Toni, very friendly , breakfast was continental, with a very good choice, including fresh fruit. would definitely stay there again if in the area. had an evening meal the second night , was was very good value for price paid.

am used to a power shower and did find the one in my ensuite poor
