This was our second visit to Casa Vanda. We hoped things might have been done to improve the interior of the villa over the last 12 months. While a small amount of money had obviously been spent, the property was still crying out for more t l c. The same tired loungers were round the pool; the same sun-damaged plastic table and chairs were on the patio; still no seating on master bedroom balcony; three-legged unusable easy chair in the lounge. We had another lovely holiday in Tavira - minimal expenditure on the villa's facilities would have made it a fabulous holiday.

Fantastic pool area. The lack of aircon downstairs and some very tired beds are all that prevented 5 stars overall. We had a lovely stay in a well appointed property. Tavira itself is a beautiful town.

Excellent location, fantastic views. Quiet and impressive area of Tavira. The pool and the area around it excellent. Could do with one more large outside umbrella. Would recommend the villa highly.

Fantastic location as 5 min drive into Tavira and walkable (20 min, we did it 4 times in week we stayed) into town centre for great selection of portuguese restaurants, market and ferry to beach

As a group of 5 people this villa had more than enough room for us all. The interior was comfortable and all the rooms a good size, the air con in bedrooms was a welcome relief to the heat. All the amenities in the villa were good, used the BBQ and ovens a couple of times and the fridge was big enough to stock lots of drinks. The exterior of the villa was beautiful, lots large paving area around the pool, well managed gardens, nice trees to get some shade and of course the large swimming pool. The main negative of the stay was the seating, mostly lack of seating and the quality of what was provided. With such lovely areas to sit outside the villa it was a shame that those areas didn’t have any seating, the bedroom balcony, a great please to sit and have a morning coffee had one sun bed, but no seats, which was a shame and other than carrying seats up the stairs couldn’t really be used. Outside around the pool and BBQ areas theee was one set of table and chairs, many of which had faults, not a big deal to us, we just mixed and matched the seats that could be used, yes we could have raised with the manager, but don’t want to spend our holiday complaining, a simple check before we arrived would have spotted the broken chairs, I suggest a review of all the seating is made by the villa management. We had a really, really good time at the villa, some small investment in seating would have made it perfect. The location to town is easily reached in 20 mins walk and the walk back is mainly uphill and could be a struggle for some, but was no problem for our family. This villa had everything we wanted and we are so pleased we booked!!

The area where the villa is, is nice and quiet quite resodential but majority are holiday lets. Its an affluent area. The villa is great. Its spacious with a good kitchen and a bbq outside. Bedrooms are a decent size and the master suite is spacious with a private balcony to get that all over tan on. Beds are firm and each bedroom has air con and fans. There is a roof terrace with great views over the town of tavira and the salt pans in the distance. Outside you will find 2 dining areas and a great sized pool to get that bit of exercise or just to cool off in. The pool is surrounded by loungers. It's a 20 minute walk to the centre of town. It's all down hill. If the heat or the walk gets to you there is a small cafe opposite the fire station to get refreshments. My 76 year old mother could walk it. Nothing bad to spoil your holiday with this rental. The management team were efficient and fast to react when the pool got a bit dirty. Book this villa but don't tell everyone we want to come back.

Casa Vanda is a fabulous villa set in lovely grounds with a superb pool and perfectly located for walking into Tavira town (and taking a taxi back). Accommodation more than adequate for two couples as we were, although three couples resulting in four people sharing bathroom facilities may cause a bit of a problem. Furnishings within the property were extremely comfortable, but externally the raised patio seating needs updating. Likewise the main patio white plastic table and chairs (only able to accommodate 4 people) had seen better days. In fact one of the chairs collapsed under one of our party (readily replaced by the management team but the broken item had not been removed by the time we left). Not being dining-out people, we made extensive use of the lovely BBQ which was immaculate when we arrived. I did my best to ensure it was the same when we left, but due to the absence of any cleaning materials or equipment in the property I was unable to tackle the grease on the surrounding brickwork that inevitably comes with use of a BBQ. I was therefore only able to attend to the ashes and the actual grill rack for which a brush was provided. Finally, I hope I don't come over as over critical, but I would suggest a review of the linen provided: lovely bed linen and indoor and pool towels but one of the bath mats left by the very efficient ladies who carried out the light clean half way through the holiday was in such an overworn condition it should have been thrown away some time ago. I offer these observations as constructive thoughts from a group of 4 people who had a great holiday in a luxury villa and who fully intend to rebook in 2023.

This is a beautiful, well-maintained villa in a great location, with easy access to Tavira town and the coast. The only slight negative is that it doesn't have any heating on the ground floor, which means it can sometimes get chilly during the evening. A simple fan heater for occasional use would resolve this issue.

Prima huis, tuin en zwembad, prachtig uitzicht over tavira en de kust. Huis vereist op sommige punten wel wat vernieuwing zoals gordijnen, linnengoed, tuinset patio, huishoudelijke apparatuur.

Es war alles prima, auch die Betreuung durch smartvillars war ausgezeichnet. Für das teilweise regnerische Wetter kann keiner was! Gerne wieder dort!!

Gardens are lovely. House is very comfortable. Everything first rate. The only problem is that now that we're home our landscaping/Gardening needs to be brought up to snuff.

Well organised travel and key pick up to the villa. We really enjoyed our stay here as it's a lovely property but to get full marks the mattresses need replacing. They are very hard. We had a great holiday though.

My husband and I were joined by a friend for 4 days. Wow! Weather was warm so the pool was a huge draw - morning, afternoon and evening! The house has 2 two twin bedrooms and one large suite. The beds are hard for our taste, but we used the duvets to add padding - just right! Large open kitchen/dining area but we mostly ate outside. Easy to find and drive to town, grocery store, etc. The management team were very responsive - the internet went down and they sent folks out to fix by morning. Very quiet neighborhood and lovely view over old Tavira town. Excellent base for exploring the Algarve. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed the spacious garden/pool area and quiet neighbourhood and would return. The furnishings were basic but adequate and property management quick to respond to a few minor issues.

Esta casa cumpre todos os requisitos para umas ótimas férias: espaçosa, local agradável, bem cuidado e muito tranquilo, piscina excelente e um bom barbecue. Apenas sugerimos mais iluminação no barbecue e alpendre. O apoio também foi muito disponível. A repetir!

Outdoor chairs torn. Sun loungers old & ripped. Mish mash of old chipped crockery. Cupboards full of useless glasses but none the same. Utility room full of junk.

Uma estadia muito agradável numa vivenda bem localizada e com uma vista fantástica sobre Tavira, para desfrutar de noite e de dia. A parte exterior muito bem cuidada e a enquadrar devidamente a piscina onde passámos belos momentos em família.

Where to start... The villa is beautiful, most comfortable, well equipped and with great views. Location is perfect, although we had a hire car so the up hill walk from the centre may be tough. We’ve stayed pretty much most key places in the Algarve and Tavira is by far on the number one spot.

We had a lovely week at the villa overlooking Tavira. Gorgeous views from the 1st floor and roof terrace, especially at night. Pool was excellent, just the right temperature to cool you down while being warm enough to spend lots of time in. The kids all loved it, and there were even a few toys they could play with too. Villa had everything we could have needed and more, very well looked after and equipped. The only thing I would mention if you have a toddler is the stairs are a little risky, as the little ones could fall off the side - but we blocked the bottom so we could relax more easily while she was downstairs! Tavira was lovely, really easy to get to, and very charming with lots of places to eat and drink. We would definitely come again.

What a great villa! The pictures don't do it justice! Big and airy and really well equiped. The gardens are beautiful with lots of different areas to use and a very large private pool. It was a definite luxury for our family of 4! The location is great. A short drive or 20 minute (downhill walk) into Tavira. The walk back up was a bit too long and steep for us to attempt more than once with two small children but older kids would manage it without problem. Parking in Tavira is free which helps! Tavira has lots to keep you entertained. A really pretty old town, and lots of restaurants, bars & cafes. The boat to Ilha de Tavira and the train to Praia do Barril arrive at beautiful beaches with safe swimming and are a great adventure for little ones! Thank you so much for a brilliant holiday. We will definitely return :)

The arrival was easy and effortless, and thank you for allowing us to check in early. The villa rep was pleasant but a bit vague, answered most questions with ‘we would find it in the folders. The house is beautiful and we had no neighbours so it was blissfully quiet. Just a couple of things that might be considered:- A large parasol for the glass dining table Some chairs for the white table on the covered terrace Some larger parasols around the pool, those available were very small. Also, the wooden bench is a bit rickety and has a broken slat. Please don’t take the above as criticism just some ideas. Thank you again for letting us enjoy your beautiful home. Für uns war das Haus mit Kindern super und haben den Pool genossen. Das Stadtzentrum war abends zu Fuß in 20 Minuten zu erreichen, um essen zu gehen und für den Rest sollte man ein Auto haben. Die Ausstattung des Hauses war gut und der Kontakt mit der Besitzern gut.

We had an absolutely marvelous stay in Tavira which is ideally located to discover the less visited part of Algarve, east of Faro. Tavira allowed us to enjoy beautiful beaches and the lagunas via a short boat trip. Emily's villa was simply beautiful and made us feel very quickly at home. We had a wonderfully relaxing stay and throughly enjoyed the garden and the pool, even in early May. We were granted very nice temperatures, around 24°, during our entire week, what more to ask for ? We are looking forward to return.

We loved this house - it´s absolutely perfect for a bigger familiy with older "children". Lots of space inside and outside, well equipped, very well-kept, comfortable, quite neighborhood, ... - there is not one bad word to say about. Highly recommendable, we would love to come back one day! Thank you very much for the wonderful week we were allowed to stay there.

We were just impressed when arrived to this fantastic villa, it was even much better than shown on the pictures. A superb villa with 3 big bedrooms, the main one is incredible with a fantastic terrace, air conditioned, plenty of light, big and modern kitchen and a big and comfortable living room. Around the house a generous garden with barbaque near the kitchen, a fantastic swimming pool and beautiful trees that provide a perfect natural shadow. The location of the villa is exclusive just at the top of a hill from where you can enjoy day and night the beautiful city of Tavira and the sea. The villa should really be named “Tavira Hills” due to its exclusivity and perfect location. Emily and Peter were just perfect on providing all arrival arrangements and proposals on things to see and to eat around Tavira. Tavira is a charming Portuguese village with still the essence of what the real Algarve is, beautiful beaches, excellent and cheap food and very nice people. Go and don’t tell anyone so it will still keep away from the other crowded Algarve locations. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy a superb holidays in this villa in Tavira.

Amazing city and amazing place to stay. We are itching to go back next year!!

A spacious, well equipped and comfortable villa. It has a homely feel because the owners leave personal things around, we particularly enjoyed playing Scattergories!! Rachel who looks after the property was very helpful too.
