The house was very comfortable and had all the needed amenities. The disc golf course was a blast. I would highly recommend the cottage.

Everyone loved the house and grounds. Hard to believe you can be so close to Asheville but have this much nature around you. The house is very well equipped, beautifully decorated, and sits in a pasture filled with wildlife. Wake to birds singing, watch the Turkeys feed, then walk around the expansive property. Western NC at it's very best!

This stay is very comfortable - it feels like being at home. The decor is so interesting. the house is spacious and comfortable. Would like to return.

This is our 6 or 7th time staying at this house. We love it! My husband and sons love to play disc golf and fish in the stream. We all love to hike around the beautiful trails with our dogs and then relax around the fire pit in the evening. We love the proximity to Asheville's breweries restaurants and shopping. There's no other house like it with so much to do right at the house.

Group of us went to explore Asheville breweries and play some disc golf. Cottage was fantastic and had plenty of room for everyone. Disc golf course was awesome and the property was beautiful! Very well maintained. Would be happy to stay here again!

The property is beautiful! It is well manicured with lots of wooded area. We enjoyed the outdoor space as well as the comfortable inside. Lots of hiking trails. Certainly would stay there again!

Rented this lovely house for visiting family of 4, two parents and two young adults. On their way to Asheville, they all came down with a cold, so we spent most of our time indoors or on the property. There was plenty of room for the six of us to sit together and chat, gather around a table to play games or stroll the grounds enjoying the spring weather. Everyone adored it and returned home refreshed and renewed. We will definitely make this delightful and comfortable cottage our regular home away from home.

It's not always easy to find a home rental that makes three generations of guests happy, but Wintersun hit the mark for our reunion of eight (plus one dog) this weekend. The house was immaculate and had all the cookware and utensils that we needed for our meals, and we all appreciated the small post-card-size, take-along cards Judy and Susan made with directions to local sites; the detailed architectural/landscaping map of the (extensive and beautiful) grounds; and the helpful disc golf maps (not to mention the spare discs!). The power went out very briefly during a thunder/wind storm, but Judy promptly texted that she was arriving with candles and flashlights---which we wound up not needing, because the power came back on shortly. We also appreciated her letting us stay after our departure time to play one last round of disc golf. Everyone agreed that we'd stay there again in a heartbeat. Beautiful property, attentive and friendly hosts. Thank you, Judy and Susan!

This is the third time my book club has stayed at Wintersun Cottage. We love it for the location. Easy access to Asheville and Black Mountain. Also love exploring all the trails on the property.

We really enjoyed being together for a family gathering at the cottage at Wintersun. It was a welcoming and cozy place. I would be happy to return.

This cottage is incredibly unique and charming with timeless decor, a vast array of books, and trinkets galore! We had a crew of adults and teenagers and all raved about the property and space. Meals around the tables both inside and out were so cozy and comfortable. The on-site walking trails and disc golf were a hit. No need for media games/screens at all! And decorated for Christmas! Comfy beds. A true home away from home. We will be back!

Our small group had an awesome time at this property. We arrived using the wrong road, so make sure you use winter sun. The house itself was fine, the listing online was accurate. It's a little dated and literally packed full of stuff, one bedroom for some reason had a 100 piece china display. So not a great house for kids. That said the location and the property is simply amazing. We had an awesome time playing disc golf and just walking around during the day or night. Very special property and was such a nice change of scenery. We booked it because we disc golf. The disc golf was pretty homebrew, there was good directions via the provided map, but mobile baskets and tees. Not a pro setup, but still a well designed course that was very scenic and challenging. We had an amazing stay. I'd recommend this place for up to 4 singles and up to 7-8 total people if couples.

We had a lovely stay at the main home and guest house. It's a beautiful property that I highly recommend.

TV did not work upstairs. They have to many remote devices for TV upstairs. The coffeemaker did not work.

We had a great stay at the cottage. It was a convenient location for a visit to the Biltmore and hiking on Rumbling bald trail. We enjoyed the disc golf, and need to return to walk the trails. The house had everything we needed. If you are looking for a nice quiet place that is also convient, this is a great place to rent

My family and I go on an annual golf weekend every year for the past 9 years and stay near the golf courses we’re going to play. The was by far our best location. The house had everything we needed and more. Very clean and great location.

The property was fantastic. Even on a rainy weekend we got lots of time in on both disc golf courses and the house had everything we needed. Great location close to Asheville for good food and brews. Would definitely stay again!

What a great weekend of disc golf on an amazing property. It was so quiet and peaceful. The house itself was great. Very clean and had everything we needed. We will definitely be back for some more disc golf adventures!

This property was so fun for our family of 5 and our dog. We took walks, I took some trail runs, played by the creek, and enjoyed relaxing at the house. We will definitely return. It’s close to activities in Asheville and surrounding areas as well.

I love to get away for a few days and so some hiking and work remotely, and this was my most recent stop, and it excelled in every way. Getting there was easy, its close to Asheville and hiking, the house is lovely and perfectly appointed in every way and the property itself is second to none. Hosts were wonderful as well. Best disc golf course I've ever played right out the front door. 5 star
