My family of three (plus dachshund) enjoyed our stay at this beautiful artist’s home. The cabin is light and spacious in the living areas (kitchen, living room, porch), and cozy in the bedrooms. We really enjoyed reading the children’s books written/illustrated by the owner (we assume) and seeing the eclectic art throughout the house. The cabin feels completely private as the grounds are large, yet Woodstock, Rhinebeck and other town conveniences are all close by. It really is a delightful home. The property manager, Robyn, told us everything we needed to know; check in was easy; and we were greeted with a nice bag of coffee, delicious maple syrup and some very tasty pretzels. I really don’t want to be totally honest with how much we loved this home because I do want there to be some vacancies for us to return in the future! Our only complaint is that we were should have stayed longer! We were completely enchanted with the peace and comfort of this rustic and charming country cabin.

This house was perfect for our stay during the Woodstock Luthier’s Invitational Showcase. It was great to be just minutes away from the Bearsville Theater and also so close to town. It was nice to wake up to nature each morning. Thanks for a great stay!

Loved this house! Property and home were picturesque, perfect for a relaxing fall get away. We loved the huge kitchen surrounded by windows and the fireplace in the livingroom. Communication with the property manager was very easy, we will definitely look to book again.

My friend and I returned to our home town to bring my father’s ashes home. We were welcomed with a few local treats and a note about my dad, a Woodstock character for many years. It was spotless and comfortable. We enjoyed an unseasonably warm evening outside in front of a fire, saw plenty of deer, and enjoyed peace in the woods. At the end of our long days, we were happy to zone out for a bit on the smart tv :) The art in the place was also really cool!

We had a wonderful weekend staying at this property. Far enough off the beaten path to enjoy the sounds of silence, but just a short drive into Woodstock. It was a real bonus having a hiking trail right across the street. The yard was a perfect spot to sit in nature with a good book. The house was great - clean and spacious with an amazing kitchen! Exactly what we needed.

Cute house that has everything you need for a lovely long weekend. Easy to get into Woodstock, but completely quiet except for the birds and other wildlife.

The cabin is a lovely combination of rustic charm, scenic quietude, and functional forethought. We had everything we needed to be renewed and to enjoy this beautiful area. The kitchen, especially, was a delight - well-equipped spacious and a wonderful gathering spot. Robyn, the property manager, was responsive and efficient. We would be delighted to return.

We stayed at this property two years ago, had a great time, and returned this summer again. The location was great, the house was beautiful, and there was a nice hiking trail nearby.

If you are looking for a relaxing environment this is definitely the place for you! Tucked up a mountain where you only here the birds and frogs but yet close enough to town to enjoy the sights!

This house was an absolute dream. It was romantic and cozy in the living room by the fire but the STAR was by far the kitchen full of windows and a wonderful island. The incredible banquet surrounding the massive table was perfect for games, dinner and curling up and with a good conversation. The heated floors were a surprise and added to the atmosphere! HIGHLY recommend!!

A beautiful and peaceful retreat with all the amenities of modern living. Plus an amazing fireplace and piano.

The red cottage was immaculate, and just as described. Robyn, the property manager, was very responsive when we had a concern. The kitchen is fantastic, and the bedrooms and "studio" area very comfortable. The property is quite rustic—during our stay we saw: Many chipmunks, a deer, a pair of bunnies, woodpeckers, hummingbirds, and other wildlife. We really enjoyed our week at the Red Cottage!

Cottage was perfect for a peaceful 2 week getaway. The kitchen and front porch additions were beautifully implemented with lots of windows all around. These two areas transformed a relatively small cottage into an elegant natural oasis. WiFi was fine for work from home.

It took us no time at all to relax, unwind and leave our busy lives behind. Every room in the red cottage is very comfortable and clean. We cooked every day in the beautiful, bright fully equipped open kitchen. In the evenings we settled in with a a glass of wine in front of a warm fire. The location is perfect, close to town and some beautiful hiking trails. The red cottage is a pet friendly accommodation. Our big golden retriever was a tired happy dog at the end of each day:) We would definitely stay here again!

For the first time in many months we ware able to experience perfect silence and tranquility in a beautiful house and large property. House is well appointed with everything we needed and nothing that was in our way. It is ideal for families with dogs. Our energetic pit bull played and ran to exhaustion. House is very close to Woodstock village with its many cafes and shops. We will come back.

The house and property are beautiful. Wonderful art, amazing and huge kitchen, comfy beds and easy to use fireplace. There was snow all around (unlike in NYC a couple of hours south) and plenty of firewood - picaresque! It was a great location for skiing at Belleayre and being close to Woodstock’s dining and natural food store (we like to cook). Robyn was always accessible and responsive and we felt well taken care of. We wished we could just move in and never go back to city living!

Very relaxing and centrally located. It is exactly what we needed. The kitchen was well appointed and the home nicely furnished.

What a lovely place to spend a long weekend! The huge kitchen felt like it was practically outdoors it had so many windows, and was a wonderful place to hang out with friends. Expansive pristine acreage nestled in the woods led to many beautiful mornings in the backyard sipping coffee and just enjoying the location. House stayed cool and enjoyable on hot days even with AC off. Incorrect email info unfortunately led to us driving to a different property 10 min away, and the keycode listed in VRBO was not up to date, but once that got straightened out the stay was fabulous.

My husband and I stayed here for a few days with another couple, and we enjoyed it thoroughly. The house is really clean, and it feels so friendly and comfortable. We ate most meals at "home," cooking in that big kitchen or grilling out, and we didn't really feel a lot of desire to leave the house. The property is quiet, private, and we all relaxed in a way none of us had in a long time. We'll definitely be back!
