This was exactly what we wanted for vacation - isolated, stunning view, amazing house. Every night, we sat on the back deck and watched the sun set over the mountains. We stayed for 2 weeks, and I wish we could have stayed longer. This house is even more stunning than you can tell from the pictures. Just lovely in every way.

The thermostat down stairs worked fine. The upstairs would state “ in 2 1/2 hours” It was very uncomfortable at night. I did not call and I did not try to change it anymore. We always enjoy our stay. July is just a hot month.

Only complaint I have is bug bites and centipedes. Someone had left the tops of several windows down, so there were quite a few bugs inside. We all ended up with several bug bites that welted up. The centipedes are everywhere including in the beds. I might suggest an exterminator. Other than those things though, it really was a great trip and experience. We enjoyed the hikes, horses and even music on our last night. Be aware that Blueberry Ridge is about 5 miles up a mountain road though. We didn't mind that.

Our cabin was exceptional, it had everything you would need being away from home. It was very clean and comfortable, I wish we could have stayed longer, but we will be back.

Perched mountainside, the house offers expansive views and also wonderful interior design and amenities. You feel close to nature but at the same time pampered with all the luxuries that make a vacation special, like a gourmet kitchen and a generously sized jacuzzi in the master suite. The property description and photos were completely accurate; the home was spotlessly clean; all the appliances and furnishings were in great condition. As long as you are fine with a fairly long drive from the resort entrance to the property (we were fine with it because we liked being away from the bustle), this is a great choice for a family get-together.

We really enjoyed staying at this house. The hot tub was wonderful, the views were spectacular, and it was so quiet and remote. We enjoyed the fireplace and our boys loved the games downstairs and taking walks. Only complaint was the house was quite dusty, but seemed quite clean otherwise. Would recommend!

We stayed at BR over 2020 Thanksgiving weekend. Best things about this rental: beautiful Mountain View, homey and cozy mountain house, the best stocked kitchen I’ve ever rented! Not Best Things: 45 min drive to grocery and longer to Boone, Blowing Rock (but we were warned of that), not enough towels for 7 of us so bring some of your own, had issue w hot tub not working but we didn’t discover that until our last night-I really believe Leatherwoiod staff would have attended to that if we had called but it was late and we were leaving the next day.

The hot tub tripped a breaker and we were unable to use it bc the fuse box was in a locked closet. The house has a no pet policy, but the owner has a dog and the dampness in the basement brought out a urine smell. I love Leatherwood and the management tried to resolve these issues while we were there. I would come back to visit, but I’d probably stay at a different rental home.

The pictures do not do it justice!

A lovely cozy mountain cabin. We’ve stayed in this area before and this is our favorite cabin. The house itself has everything you need and is well located for walks thru the woods and just sitting on the balcony looking at the view.

We had a perfect Covid vacation here! We went fishing, enjoyed the hot tub, and had movie nights! The view is amazing! The only downside is it takes 45mins-1 hour to get places, but because of covid we only left the resort twice so it didn’t really bother us. We brought all of our food with us since we knew the groceries were far away.

Great place to get away, well stocked, beautiful view. There were a few Minor things like the small appliances not fully clean from the last guests And it would’ve been nice to know the pool was closed but overall a great weekend

We really enjoyed our stay this property. The house was even better then the pictures online. The view was amazing!

Spacious, clean, well appointed

We've rented a number of cabins in the NC mountains over the years, including other cabins in Leatherwood, and this one may be our favorite. Nicely appointed kitchen, nice master bedroom and bathroom, great finished downstairs with game room and two bedrooms, and great views. It's a bit of a drive up the mountain from the entrance into the Leatherwood community, but well worth it.
