Cozy and charming cottage in Ferndale. Comfortable beds and well-equipped kitchen. Very convenient to Ferndale shops and restaurants. Easy access to other towns in Humboldt County.

We enjoyed our stay in this nicely appointed home! Very clean and comfortable, and our hosts provided everything needed for a great stay! Would definitely stay here again if we ever return to Ferndale. Only slight negative is bath could use more lighting but that would not prevent us from staying here again. Highly recommended!!!

This charming farmhouse in Ferndale California was perfect for our visit with family living nearby. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Only a couple miles away from the ocean. We were able to barbecue on the back deck and the kitchen is well appointed.

We enjoyed our visit to the town of Ferndale. The house felt like home and was in walking distance to everything. I would recommend this house for anyone looking to stay in a fun Victorian town.

Coming from the mountains of Colorado, we did not expect Ferndale to be such a quiet place. Other than the dogs barking once, you don’t hear a thing from this cute house. It was the quietest place we have ever been to. The natural environment must absorb all the sounds. You don’t even wake up to any birds singing. Unbelievable how you could sleep until noon if you forget to set an alarm.
We loved the town, house location and especially the lost coast road. The local beach was also so beautiful watching the seals pop up from the waves to say hi. We are so thankful we did not stay further north by the national park. We want to come back someday and try more restaurants in town.
Only negative on the house is the lack of dishwasher. Adding a small one even in the laundry room would make the home complete.

Picking the wild blackberries everywhere made the trip even better. We needed one more day to make the fresh berry pie. Next time. Cheers.

The cottage is cute, clean and comfortable space for 4 people. It's a very short walk to the restaurants and shops. The owner gave clear instructions on how to access the property, however, the key box was a little tricky to open. We enjoyed our short stay in Ferndale. It's a cute town and the people are super friendly.

Excellent house in great location. All amenities were provided and overall exceeded expectations. Only slight negative was size of the bathroom fixtures (all very small).

Peaceful Town
The house was clean and comfortable. It's a short walk to the classic looking homes. The kitchen cabinets are functional and met my needs, but they are a bit disappointing for a refurbished house. The bathroom sink faucet is missing the flow nozzle, so water sprays in all directions. The kitchen was reasonably stocked with utensils and dishes. Some redneck parked their truck directly in front of he steps to the house even though there were plenty of open spots along the street. Seemed to have been a statement.

We found this cottage to be perfect for us. Warm and comfortable, especially the bed. Quiet and very convenient for a short walk to shops and restaurants. We would definitely stay again.

Gracious Host
This is a wonderful vacation home. Great location to find walking paths, trip to the ocean or enjoying Main St in Ferndale. Comfortable home, Kathleen has thought of everything one would need for your stay. Her respond time is very quick should you have a question or concern. We had a slight hiccup upon arriving, but Kathleen addressed our concern immediately 5 star experience we look forward to our next visit. Thank you Kathleen!

Great cottage
We had a perfect stay. The location - Main st extended- could not be better. The beds were comfortable and house well appointed- reminded us of our Summer house in Maine. We were able to cook a nice dinner here with the cutlery and pans on hand and bbq worked well. We would absolutely come back here.

Perfect spot in the heart of Ferndale!
We visit Ferndale regularly, but this was our first time looking for a rental home. We were specifically looking for something with space for our two boys, ages 7 and 10, that was available last minute. This quaint little house has it all. At the quiet end of town (really, though - Ferndale is nothing but quiet!), we loved the ability to walk everywhere yet still be tucked away from it all. Adorably decorated and super cozy - staying in has never been so fun! Whether it was trips to the beach, bbq'ing on the back deck or grabbing ice cream down the street, the Francis Creek Retreat is the place to call home in Ferndale. The owners have thought of everything you could possibly need and even those things you may have forgot to pack. The beds were comfy and hard to get out of in the morning, and we loved the regular evening visits of deer. We will be back :)

Delightful Ferndale Getaway
This place was even better than the pictures. The beds were comfy, the house was warm and cozy. I felt like I was at home, The Leonard’s stock this house with everything you need aside from groceries (even some butter and other basics.) We will definitely stay here again when we visit Ferndale, one of our favorite towns on the coast. Thank you for everything!

This home is wonderfully restored from the 1880's and has been kept in the original design and comfort of those days. Close to walking downtown and seeing the sights. Well appointed. A true Goldilock's moment, just right. Highly recommended!

Excellent Vacation Location
We had a wonderful time in this beautiful home. The property owners have thought of everything a guest might need. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and there was a great variety of coffee, tea and oatmeal available for breakfast. The beds were very comfortable and there was an abundance of towels. If we didn't have to return home for work we might have asked to move in. The town of Ferndale is adorable, and it right outside the front door. We can't recommend this beautiful home enough. We hope to be back next year!

Our favorite cozy home away from home
I don’t want to say too much because I want to come back here again and again to stay in our favorite little town. This was our 2nd year staying in Ferndale and we were SO lucky to find Kathleen’s home! She has perfectly curated each room to not only reflect the vibe of a small town with big heart, but she has thought of everything! We arrived and felt at home immediately. Cozy beds, comfy sitting area, inviting family dining room... every detail down to the plastic wine glasses parents need when they walk the kids to the local park in 50 degree weather and the basket of TP letting you know “it’s all goood”.
Thank you for a wonderful stay! Our kids who were whining to go back home from the moment we left home were begging to stay another night!

We had a lovely dinner for my daughter’s birthday, walked to all the shops and went to a friends house for a great party with so many wonderful Ferndale people! Great town!
