The only good thing about La Joliette is its location, within a short walking distance of beach, supermarket and local restaurants.

Access to property is from the back - so decrepit, we thought our taxi had taken us to wrong address! Property looks nothing like the luxurious residence pictured on booking.com OLD pic (taken when residence was new) is MISLEADING/FALSE ADVERTISING. Gone are the palm trees. The buildings themselves are shabby, dirty and festooned with drying clothes. Interestingly, London based owner feels she is "not required to continuously update pictures on booking.com" (???) Levels of DUST/DIRT inside the bungalow are health hazard that quickly triggered my dust & mite allergies. Ants crawl on kitchen worktops. We could not walk barefoot inside, without the soles of our feet turning black within minutes (see cleaning tools!) Despite charging a cleaning fee, the owner employs NO professional cleaner. Instead, she relies on her elderly parents for check-in/out AND clean before guests arrive, as her mum told me. But is her mum fit enough to clean a 3 storey flat, at her age? Shower leaked on 3rd floor/ air con so noisy it detracts from sleep at night / NEED TO BUY-YOUR-OWN (dead) BATTERIES for TV remote/ UNSAFE WIRING SYSTEM / TIRED KITCHEN APPLIANCES / OLD, “UNFIT FOR PURPOSE” PLASTIC CHAIR suddenly collapsed under my husband, badly injuring his back. A clear case of “Plastic Fatigue” (legs just splayed & gave way!) To add insult to injury, owner later accused us of “having broken furniture at the property, for which you are liable” … although judging from the speed with which she instructed her parents to dispose of all plastic chairs in the flat & replace them asap with new ones, she must have known she was in the wrong! This was the last straw. We left before the end of our booking at Joliette. Owner denies any wrongdoing and strenuously refuses a PARTIAL REFUND for 7 UNUSED NIGHTS + ADDED COMPENSATION FOR INJURY/LOSS OF ENJOYMENT. What PROTECTION/GUARANTEES can paying guests expect from BOOKING.

It was near to good beaches and restaurants . The bathrooms were redone and clean .

The whole complex was terribly tired . It needs a revamp La Joliette needs a serious upgrade . No hot water in the kitchen to wash dishes. Some clean equipment would have helped .Except for the fridge , the rest of the kitchen needed a really serious clean . The outdated decor like plastic flowers and itsy little pictures has to go .

The owners respond very quickly to any requests. The location is just perfect, close to the beach and for the price we paid I think this place is absolutely exceptional. Great Value for money. I would highly recommend especially for families.
