Here are some highlights from our stay that others might find helpful 1. Dedicated parking spot for our unit, good to know if you are renting a car. 2. Had various sizes of snorkel gear including fins 3. Nice location, ~10 walk to town to eat or shop without any really steep hills to climb 4. The property manager Patti was VERY helpful 5. Having AC in both the bedroom and front room was very nice. 6. Having a pool to swim in right there was very relaxing 7. Was quiet and had nice views of the bay. Room for improvement: Provide directions from the car ferry to the unit geared to someone (like us) who have never been to St John before. The directions we received assumed we had some knowledge of the area which we didn't. Patti was very helpful in exchanging texts with us when we were lost to help guide us there. Turns out most of the street sign names were lost during the last hurricane making navigation a little harder.

Patti and Villa La Mer help make our trip amazing! Patti was amazingly accommodating in meeting us to check in, escorted us through a great walkthrough of the condo and pool, and provided an indepth guide for all amenities in St. John. The condo was clean with an amazing view. It is conveniently close to Cruz Bay restaurants, although it is at the top of a steep hill. There is parking in front of the location, complimentary toiletries, and an incredible balcony with an exceptional view. Thank you for helping make our trip for our sister's wedding magical.

The condo was great! It was very comfortable and clean with a great deck and view. It was such a treat to walk into town every evening! Patty was very responsive and made checking in very easy. We can't wait to return to this wonderful island!

The La Mer condo is lovely—a perfect blend of bright open space and cozy comfort, and it's filled with beautiful seaside decor and art. The large veranda adds a very special bonus. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else on a return trip to St. John. La Mer is in a perfect spot for visiting this island. It’s a short walk to Cruz Bay for shops, restaurants, the ferry, and taxis that will go anywhere on St. John, including beaches. Also close by is the National Park Center and some of its walking trails. In addition, communication with Adele and Patti before and during the stay was welcoming and efficient.

This property is a short walk to down town for dinner, which we did nightly. We spent our mornings on the porch eating breakfast, and evenings in the hammock with a cocktail. The bed is on the firmer side, but feel that’s personal preference (I would recommend a gel mattress cover or foam crate). Patti was super attentive and responsive to text. The home had beach chairs and a cooler which we used daily. Would definitely rent again and can’t wait to come back.

My partner and I enjoyed our stay at this lovely Villa very much. The place is VERY spacious with visually-pleasing decor--and it is thoughtfully stocked with so many beach essentials--beach chairs, beach umbrella, a cooler, and even some snorkel gear. The deck out back is huge and a truly wonderful place to hang out and watch the sunset--plus the hammock is absolutely incredible. I spent many hours relaxing and reading while being gently swayed by the breeze. The location is perfect for walking downtown into the town of Cruz Bay, although as noted by other reviewers, just keep in mind (mostly for anyone with mobility issues) that the walk back UP can be a bit challenging on a cardiovascular level. Great exercise though, and the steepest part of the climb doesn't last long. It's a very well-lit and "open concept" space that lets you enjoy the stunning natural surroundings. The pool out back was fabulous, and you may very likely have it all to yourself (other than us, I only saw one other couple use it the whole time we were there). The host and property manager are friendly and very easy to deal with--both are very responsive to any questions you may have. If you rent a car, there is a place right out front to park! At this very reasonable price point, I'd recommend this lovely VRBO property to anyone looking to enjoy and explore gorgeous St. John!

We loved the location of this property- even though you have to walk down / up 2 steep hills to get to Cruz Bay, it was still worth it because parking in Cruz is horrendous & a huge waste of time. The little parking there is is for employees of cruz bay and near the boat docks so it saved tons of time being able to walk. The view was amazing & the road it’s on is very quiet compared to many other areas of Cruz Bay. You will hear roosters, frogs, peacocks, crickets in the unit while you’re in bed but bring a portable sound machine and it will help- it is an island after all. The pool felt like we had it to ourselves most all the 5 day we were there. I did not care for the bed at all but it’s personal preference. If you like an extremely firm mattress that’s the bed for you. We however did not like it much. This condo has a feel of a property that’s “been in the family” for a long time as there are several pieces of old art & family heirlooms laying around / old books etc. I kind of felt like I walked into someone’s actual daily home, not a VRBO property. The place is old but it was decently clean & kept up with- the kitchen needs major work but again, decently clean. All appliances worked fine. The bathroom has no air conditioning but the rest of the unit cooled down nicely. Patio was super spacious and the hammock my husband really enjoyed. The pool is down a stair case to the right of the complex and a 1 min walk. If you’re trying to budget and just need a simple place to stay with a great view & short walk to Cruz Bay, this is a great deal if you rather spend your $$ on nicer meals or shopping. Would consider staying again if the mattress wasn’t so hard, but again, that is subjective opinion. Thanks for a great stay. We loved the large back deck. We would sit out there every morning having breakfast before we started our day. Then again in the evening to relax after returning from hiking and snorkeling. It's an easy walk into Cruz Bay for dinner. We would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic stay! The villa is lovely. Some things to keep in mind are the walks to and from the villa. FOR SURE, it can be a lot! At the same time if you are a walker and are able to navigate on foot it will not be a concern. It is not far from town but the hills are exhausting, even the small ones. Another thought is the open concept of the villa. We enjoyed it very much but if you need to pull the curtain for darkness or wear earplugs for quiet this is not the place for you. The sun rises early and the wildlife are up at the crack of dawn. On the flip side you will hear the tree blowing in the wind and it sure is beautiful! The pool is a wonderful option to the beach. Would stay again!

This was just a quick getaway and we enjoyed staying in the Cruz Bay location and being able to walk into Cruz Bay for meals. The condo was well stocked, clean and the deck was great. We certainly enjoyed the snacks! We really appreciated the beach chairs and cooler for our beach trips. One more of caution to light sleepers: the roosters and peacocks are quite loud all through the night. We managed to sleep but were at times wishing they would shut up!

The property manager, Patti, was very helpful with updated information bout the area, and reminding of pre-visit Covid requirements of the USVI in plenty of time to comply if we had not been aware. She is local, and so was able to help with a minor maintenance issue that arose during our stay. The condo has beach chairs and towels, and an umbrella. We had our morning coffee on the large deck, and then watched the sunset there with a nice glass of wine. There are several shelves of books and games for entertainment, and the TV gets a wide set of stations. Parking is available across the road. Cruz Bay is a short walk away, All in all, we look forward to the chance to return soon for another Caribbean sojurn.

This one bedroom unit is perfect for a visit to St John. Walk into Cruz Bay for dinner or shopping. Eat on the big porch with water views. Pick air conditioning or breezes. Feels like a family home with full kitchen equipment and stuff for the beach. We will be back.
