Our stay was great and the house was wonderful. However, the lack of information in regards to there being no A/C at this house was unfortunate; such information should be up front. But the weather was perfect so it fortunately was not needed for the stay. Wifi was difficult so we did not hook to it as there was 10 different things with different information. All in all we enjoyed the stay and would go back, but better instructions would definitely help.

This cabin was the perfect long weekend getaway! The house had enough place for 4 people and a picturesque backyard and view of the lake. The grill and fire pit was a fantastic amenity to be able to roast s’mores and burgers all weekend. The location was walkable to all the local places and a quick drive to traverse city. The house was clean, easy to check in, had enough basic amenities, the beds were comfy, the Wi-Fi was fast. I’d love to come back to this property.

We enjoyed a few days at the dragonfly. We were able to go hiking in Leelenau, shopping in Traverse City, catch a sunset across the way in Elk Rapids and have our dogs with us at the house. I recommend the Happy Camper coffee shop downtown-great coffee, best hot chocolate and amazing views.

The house probably wouldn't be good for a long stay with many people. There were a few things that were in need of repair that I noticed while I was there. A few housekeeping things as well, but overall, it was a decent experience. If you don't like renting from a property management company, don't rent this unit - it looks like it is rented by an individual on the VRBO site, but then you'll get an email from a separate property management company to pay/contact to rent the unit. Just an FYI.

Enjoyed the patio overlooking lake

The house was perfect for my girlfriend, dog and I. The property is taken care of and clean. The back yard is large with beach access to bass lake, we used the kayaks provided with the house rental and the water is clear and not deep off the shore. The backyard was perfect for playing games like bags/cornhole. We grilled every night and had a fire with both are provided with the rental. Also, a really nice patio set and chairs by the fire pit. One night we stayed in and use the kitchen table to play card games. The kitchen is perfect for the couple of days and has a oven, large fridge and freezer. The bath looks out into the backyard and has a stand in shower. Then two bedroom which were clean and comfortable. In the living room is a large tv and sofas ( we didn’t even tv on once). Fans were provided because the place does not have A/C but we had no issues. This location is close to downtown elk rapids which is adorable and has a wonderful public beach “memorial park” which is connected to the traverse City bay which is crystal clear. Then you are only a short drive to elk lake and about a 15 minute drive to Torch lake sandbar. Torch lake is incredible and this house was perfect for the trip. It’s close to so many things.

Place was nice and for the most part clean. Great location and access to the pier and use of the Kayaks were a nice bonus. There was some mold in the bathroom shower that should be cleaned. Also yard is full of goose poop. Maybe this is common for the area but it made the yard kind of unusable. I would recommend this place and would also rent again.

Overall good experience - convenient location to grocery store and local beach. Grocery store is big and should have anything you need and it’s only 2 blocks away. The Local restaurant is only 1 block away and has good food. We went for breakfast the one morning. Property had 2 kayaks and Wi-Fi which was a nice surprise as those weren’t listed on property description. Bass lake isn’t a lake for swimming, but since you are just a couple minutes from the public beach it’s not a big deal unless you are expecting to swim on the Dragonfly property. We enjoyed kayaking in the morning, though. Recommend going to Elk Lake or Torch Lake. Both have really nice water and great for water activities. The geese were frequent visitors on the property and so there was quite a bit of geese poo, but that was probably my only con.

I’m a boater and live on my boat in the summers so I am well aware. BUT this house was ridiculously unkept. Walking in the front door was terrifying. There were about 9 huge spiders covering the entrance. The inside had so many webs throughout the house. Not cobwebs. Webs with bugs that clearly have been there a long time based on size. And the multiple signs around about the bugs don’t make it better. We were so extremely uncomfortable the entire weekend. We looked into hotels but they were too expensive so we were stuck. This house is in desperate needs of some attention to detail. The only mirror in the bathroom is the medicine cabinet that doesn’t close and is awkward to use. The bathroom was so hot but I couldn’t open the window because it was infested with webs and spiders. The only other mirror is in the hallway with no lights or outlets. Mirrors in the bedrooms would be helpful. The beds were very uncomfortable with springs sticking in my back. A simple topper would help tremendously. I slept on the couch. We were afraid to open drawers and closets not knowing what was in there. I know this was a more affordable option but that doesn’t mean it has to be dirty. We even had to go buy a candle to help with the smell. A few simple things would have completely changed the experience. I would Not recommend this place to anyone.

The only drawbacks were the back sliding screen door would stick or come off the track easily. Many windows had screens with holes in them. The kitchen cupboards needed a deep cleaning: a broken bowl was in a cupboard, food was way past expiration dates, dust under tables and beds. Front door lock would not lock sometimes , had to play with the handle and the couch had dog hair on it. Also next to the stove, the floor was full of old food and needs a deep cleaning.

We made use of the dining table on the patio and had many fires in the fire pit. The kayaks on the property were fun as well. The location was perfect...close to the market, a very good restaurant and a quick walk to ice cream. It was a very relaxing stay. The floors could have been a little cleaner and the sheets may need an upgrade, but nothing that would keep us from staying again.

Cute house close to downtown Elk Rapids. House was clean, updated, and had lots of extra amenities. Beds were very comfortable. The yard was spacious but the lake access area was full of dead weeds and trash which was disappointing. Also didn’t like the house being so close to the street and neighbor, which isn’t shown in the photos. Major issue with checking in as the cleaning service was behind. Check in was 4pm and we didn’t have access to the house until close to 6pm - not ideal with a dog and a baby in the car. Rental agency didn’t seem very concerned or apologetic and didn’t try too hard to make things right. Overall nice house in a nice location.

This rental could use some real cleaning. There were some parts of this rental that seemed to never have been cleaned, under the beds, around the bathroom vanity floor, dirty mattress pad, mold around the shower control in the main cottage to mention a few. A strong musty odor, also. The location was great. Nice lake view with kayaks and life jackets provided. A market was a block away and a restaurant within walking distance. Stayed Aug. 1-5, 2020.

Gathered with 2 adult daughters and their boyfriends. Fun time kayaking Bass Lake and also Elk Lake.

The location was great! The added amenities kayakes, row boat, gas grill made our outdoor living amazing! Quaint cottage, lots of charm, having 2 full baths with 4 adults and 2 10-year old boys was perfect! I highly recommend This cabin for families. It’s away from the heavy social traffic and we were able to enjoy time together when we came home from a day of boating on the big lake. Kitchen supplies were adequate, and all appliances worked great. Do bring your own bath towels and kitchen towels, other than that your set. Thank you Dragonfly, this was our first trip Up North but not our last!
