A weekend on Mutiny Bay is an annual event for our family. We have stayed at this location four times and have a reservation for next year. The hosts are very responsive. The house fits the needs of our family well. Everyone has a good time. The views are extraordinary. We love watching the ships go by with the Olympics in the background.

We felt so fortunate to have a week at Mutiny Bay Getaway. It was a perfect house for our family of 5. The open floor plan downstairs allowed us all to do different activities but near to each other. The bedrooms are clean and very comfortable. The view is spectacular from every room and breathtaking from the back patio and beach. The location on the bay is ideal for beach exploring in both directions or lounging and taking in the many sights on the water and in the sky. The owners were very communicative and kindly called us when we couldn't figure out the VCR (kids wanted to experience vintage movie watching). A point to future renters is that the kayaks/boats in the photos are not part of the rental. And you'll need to pick up firewood for the pit. The $6 bundle at Payless was enough for a fun evening of toasting marshmallows. We otherwise had everything on hand that we needed for a perfect getaway on Whidbey.

We had 5 grandsons, who absolutely LOVED staying here, as did the adults!!! The boys lived on the beach, hunting for shells, rocks, sea creatures, etc. they built sand forts, kayaked, explored, saw eagles, porpoise, herons, seals, and loved watching all the ships on Mutiny Bay! We adults loved a lot of the same, along with relaxing on the patio, walking the beach, watching the gorgeous sunsets, playing sports with the kids in the yard and the nearby hikes and wine tasting. Just a perfect location on Mutiny Bay. House is wonderful, large, and private. Love this spot and plan to be back many times if possible! Travelled with children 12, 9, and 6 and spent the entire time on the beach!

We had a great time staying at this water front property. The house was clean and the kitchen had everything needed to cook meals for our group. Location was perfect for exploring the island. I should mention the mattresses are a bit past their prime, sagging and misshaped. The 9am check out time is highly unusual and a bit cruel especially considering the check in time isn’t until 5pm. I get covid cleaning etc but somehow every other vrbo has managed to keep it within the 10-11 am window. Other than those two small complaints which did not keep us from enjoying the property and the well maintained house, we would recommend staying here.

So enjoyed our time in this lovely home. Appreciated the great layout, beautiful views, and beach access. Very clean and well supplied.

Our family group of 10 loved this property. Even in late December there was plenty to keep us entertained indoors. As we planned to do a lot of cooking, we brought a lot of our own cooking tools, but the kitchen was so well stocked that we didn't use anything we brought. We all agreed that it was probably the most well stocked vacation property we have ever rented. In addition to the kitchen, there were ample towels, blankets, games, videos and everything else we could possibly need. The house was clean and the location perfect. After enjoying our stay so much in the winter, the summer would be even more amazing and we all want to come back.

Our extended family of 7 had a wonderful Thanksgiving at this home. Every bedroom looks directly out on the Sound and with 3 bathrooms, no one was complaining about lack of privacy. We had beautiful weather on Thanksgiving Day and were fortunate to be able to spend most of that day outside on the deck. The fireplace indoors was cozy on the days the weather kept us in. Freeland has a great shopping center with a really nice grocery store, so anything we needed was easy to get. The kitchen was well-stocked other than some serving dishes, but those we brought from home. We would never get tired of that view and would love to go back!

We just returned from 5 unforgettable days at Mutiny Bay Getaway. Four generations of our family gathered to honor my dad who recently passed, at his most favorite spot in the world, Mutiny Bay, where we vacationed for over 40 years at Mutiny Bay Resort until it was torn down. We were so fortunate to find this gorgeous house just steps from the old resort. This beautiful home lacks nothing. Everything from any kitchen item you might need to sand toys for the kids, games, movies, puzzles etc. You can’t get any closer to the beach than this house, we thought about venturing out to the neighboring towns but couldn’t pull ourselves away from this house and beach. We are already planning our family trip here for next year. Thank you Gersch family for sharing your home with us, it was magical and such a special time for our family.

We greatly enjoyed our stay. The home is on the most beautiful beach. They equipped the outdoors with wonderful furniture and we can’t wait to come back.

Incredible view and wonderful beach with soft sand and lots to explore during low tide. Great kitchen, great couches, great deck. Internet was decent. All in all a great stay.

It was pleasure to find a nice property as advertised.

The only problem with this house is that we couldn’t stay forever. A group of 7 adults gathered for a 40th birthday and this was the best spot on the island. Not only was it a great home base for exploring Langley and Freeland, we loved being right on the beach. Despite the overcast weather, we were treated to a fantastic sunset each night. When the tide was in, we watched little silver fish jump and play in the waves. A couple of eagles visited daily, while we loved the eagles there was a tense moment when we thought we might watch them carry off a few ducklings!! The fire pit was an awesome place to hang out, stay warm and watch the sunset. This house had everything we needed and more. It far exceeded our expectations and I know we’ll do our best to return. The host was so generous as well. I accidentally spilled some water and we grabbed some colorful towels to clean it up. Later in the weekend one couple had to leave and we thought another might take their place so we washed the sheets with some towels - including the colorful ones. It turned everything pink - ooops! - we were able to bleach the sheets but some bath towels stayed pink. We took them with us and asked the host to charge us for replacements, but they said we were good. If you’re even thinking about booking the house this is your sign. DO IT.

This beautiful home sits right next to the Puget Sound. The kids loved playing on the beach and we all enjoyed the sunsets and watching the ships. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need for a short stay. Everything was clean and comfortable. It was a family vacation and wedding so staying at this house made everything more wonderful for us. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

From the moment we walked in the door we continued to be amazed and impressed both with the home and the location. The house was immaculate and contained everything that one could need. All the rooms were well appointed and the beds were so comfortable. So looking forward to returning in the future!

Wow! Amazing home right on the beautiful beach! We were very comfortable in this well cared for home that had everything you could possibly need. The outdoor spaces were wonderful and we enjoyed watching the seals & eagles and gorgeous sunsets from the large patio. We played, walked & discovered lots of marine life on the beautiful peaceful beach right outside our doorway. We will be back!

We continue to savor the sweet memories of a family weekend together at Mutiny Bay Getaway celebrating birthdays and Easter. The property description is right on, steps from the beach. The weather cooperated enough for some fun outdoor activities including an Easter Egg hunt on the grass lawn. The house is fully stocked with kitchen items, bedding, toys and even fun old VHS tapes! Kathy was wonderful and understanding about a mishap we had with the kids' Easter Egg shaped gel window clings which left dye on some paint on windowsills. (I was thankful to have purchased the insurance which covered the necessary paint). We will treasure our memories on Mutiny Bay forever.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely beach home. It was amazing to be right on the beach and have such beautiful views out so many windows! There are so many fun shops and great restaurants on the south part of the island, as well as lots to explore (don't miss Fort Casey!) We enjoyed playing volleyball and tetherball and games around the big table. The only thing that I would recommend is a few more outside chairs for around the firepit, and roasting sticks for marshmallows! (if there were any, we didn't find them). Other than that, the kitchen is well stocked, lots of games, books, and videos to watch on a rainy day (my teens and 20-somethings thought the VHS tapes were awesome!) We appreciated ease of check in and check out, how extremely clean the home was, and all the little touches, like toiletries in the bathrooms. Communication was better than 5 stars. We only wish we had more time there! Thank you so much.

It was great for family dinners and just letting the kids play all day.

This was our second time at this property and have had two great experiences. We go with another family so there are 4 kids and 4 adults and the house is plenty big. The room with two sets of bunk beds is a big help. Can't beat the location. Only downside is the 9:00am checkout time. Will definitely come back.

This was our second stay at this property, the previous at Thanksgiving a year ago. Three generations of family all enjoyed it -- especially the drama of the high tides right outside our windows and at least one gorgeous sunset in spite of the questionable weather. The property was clean, well maintained, and perfectly located to take advantage of Mutiny Bay views. Communication was excellent. We loved our stay.

Absolutely amazing views from this house, blazing fast internet, and equipped enough for us to do a turkey dinner! Great for families, would come back again in the summer in a heartbeat.

Beautiful property in quiet location! My husband and I invited all of our adult nieces and nephews and our two children away for the long weekend. There is plenty of room to spread out in this home and for everyone to have some space alone if they want it. The door out to the deck area was broken which was unfortunate. There were heavy storms for the weekend but we were able to all have a wonderful time. It is difficult with 12 people to keep the garbage down to the one can limit unfortunately and the 9 AM check out the day you’re leaving is a nuisance. Otherwise I give it five stars!

What a wonderful place to gather with family to celebrate our daughter's wedding. We had family from Biloxi MS and they thoroughly enjoyed their stay at the beach. Everything from the beautiful views, well-stocked kitchen, cosy fireplace and very comfortable beds, we couldn't have asked for anything more. There were 8 of us but the house would comfortably sleep 12. Thanks Kathy and Michael for sharing your beautiful home. We will definitely return.

This is a well-furnished house for a group, with plenty of parking and seating both inside and out. The beachfront and beautiful view of the Olympic Mountains make it a special location.

Great location. Next time, will definitely stay for longer. :)

This family weekend was originally scheduled foe May 2020, rescheduled to September 2020 and finally happened in September 2021. After everything we have been through in the past 18 months, this occasion was special. Not even the loss of power in the area could dampen our spirits. A trip to the store for candles and headlamps and we were set. It turned out to be a memorable evening. The power came on after we went to bed. The storm predicted for that weekend did not materialize. It was a glorious weekend. The house is very comfortable and inviting, with room for multiple activities in the same general space, with privates spaces as needed. We had a wonderful time and will be back next year.

We had an awesome time, at Mutiny Bay. It was a great location for our mini-family union, with family coming together from Washington, Oregon, and Hawai’i.
