My husband, I and our 9 month old son recently stayed at the Bails for four nights for our first family holiday together. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay there longer, We loved every minute of it! As soon as we drove down the driveway and saw the view we felt so lucky to be staying there. The house itself is well thought out with all of the comforts and convenience of home (kitchen, laundry, Netflix, comfy couch, two bathrooms!) with a massive improvement on the view to what we have at home! Ian the property owner was very friendly and easy to contact via phone for any queries we had / advice about the local area as well! Our highlights from our stay were definitely the plunge pool and enjoying the serenity and taking in the view from the balcony. At nighttime we enjoyed BBQ dinners on the deck and watching the sunset go down over the hills to the sound of the birdsong. Bangalow itself is such a cute little country town with interesting shops (boutiques, homewares, antiques) as well as a number of eateries - we didn’t have a chance to explore everywhere but what we saw we loved! Being only 15 minute drive to Byron Bay was great to head to the beach and look around Byron too without being in the thick of it as we wanted a bit of peace and quiet with the baby. We were so sad to leave and hope we will be able to return one day shortly! Thank you for an amazing stay :)

We had the most memorable and fabulous holiday staying at this stunning property in the Hinterland near Byron Bay. Location is unbeatable and the residence is beautifully appointed, spacious with stunning views from every room over the valley. We have been holidaying in the Byron Bay area for over twenty years and finally found one of Byron's most beautiful country cottages. It was magical to experience the sunrise and sunsets each day enjoying the peaceful and tranquil surroundings and amazing views. Communication with the owner was prompt, extremely efficient assisting us in any way he could. 'The Bails' is everything you could wish for in a relaxing holiday. Could not recommend this property highly enough. Absolutely Gorgeous!

My family and I had the best four days away staying at this property! It is a little gem! The kids didn’t want to get out of the pool and my husband and I just relaxed and enjoyed the view from the deck. Would HIGHLY recommend staying here!! It comes with everything you need. The Bails was a beautiful property for my wife and I to stay at. Amazing vistas, beautiful style and a great location. 10 minutes into Bangalow and 20 to Byron. Our favourite part of the whole stay was relaxing on the deck and cooling down in the plunge pool. Ian made sure we had everything we needed and was available if we required him. What an amazing place!

We absolutely loved our stay at Ian and Kate’s property. The house is simply gorgeous and the location offers the most incredible views. I did not want to leave the hanging chair and could have easily sat for days staring at the view- especially in the gorgeous afternoon light. The property is located in Bangalow and is an easy drive to Byron, which we love, but for our first wedding anniversary we wanted something more secluded and quiet and this house was fantastic. Ian was so easy to deal with and the whole process was seamless. If you are lucky enough to find availability don’t wait and book now!!

If you’re reading this review you are likely considering whether to book this property for your Byron/Bangalow stay. Don’t hesitate (no, really, don’t, or your dates will probably be snapped up). My partner and I were lucky enough to nab 9 nights at The Bails in October to take our baby son on his first holiday. It was ideal for what we wanted - relaxed, quiet, views and space. It offers everything you need for an excellent escape (plunge pool, fire, beach towels, bath, dishwasher, BBQ, wifi, Netflix) and nothing you don’t really want (like thumbed-through instruction manuals, overbearing hosts, or cupboards, fridges and drawers full of someone else’s stuff). We loved every precious second spent with our little boy in this chic and stylish property and can’t wait to return.

This was perfect for what we were after. Cold nights near a fire place sipping on red wine in the green misty hinterlands. Really was well looked after, communication with Ian was beyond easy. Everything we wanted and more. Thanks guys!

We had the most wonderful stay at The Bails. The house was true luxury, well appointed with everything we needed and so beautifully presented. In fact, the house was so great, that we maximised our time at the house and did not go out for dinner at all - we just wanted to enjoy the peace and quie and beauty of the location and house. The view was breathtaking and so great to have lovely furniture on the deck to be able to enjoy the view. It was nice to be out of the crowds at Byron and yet close enough to get to everything we wanted to do. Ian was the ultimate host ensuring that we were comfortable. We certainly were not able to stay long enough and will definitely be back for another visit. I cannot speak highly enough of The Bails and the hospitality - a superb holiday location.
