You never stop being impressed with this property. It is in the most beautiful setting with views from every room. The furnishings are lovely and comfortable and no detail has been missed. I have never stayed anywhere with a better stocked kitchen. There are full sized bath products and fluffy white towels in the bathrooms. Even the closets are decorated with pictures! Gorgeous artwork in every room. Large front porch for evening beverages and watching the wild life. Stay here. Don’t look any further.

We had the most enjoyable stay in the mountains of Virginia. Perfectly situated for an easy trip to Charlottesville, a hike in Shenandoah national park, a ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and so many wineries and breweries. The house itself was fantastic on a beautiful piece of property. So clean, comfortable, with fantastic views. I couldn’t ask for more. Great hosts.

Another great stay at Windy Knoll! Could not have been prettier fall views with the changing colors. The house is cozy and well looked after, we appreciated all of the updates made in the last couple years. We will be back!

Windy Knoll is a most relaxing get-away! The house is always very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. There is loads of information on hikes in the area, restaurants, and the wineries and breweries along Rte. 151. The porch is wonderful with beautiful views! If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place to spend some free time, check out " Windy Knoll" .

This was our second stay at Windy Knoll. Last year, we never left the house! This year we did do some R and R but also did some sightseeing. It's impossible not to relax here. Our favorite place? The front porch and our dogs agree. The front yard is beautiful to look at but also great for a good dog walk any time of day. The little back porch was nice for grilling, sitting, and watching the trees sway in the wind. A wonderful place to stay!

My husband, myself, and our dog stayed at Windy Knoll for a week and it was a lovely home and property. You could clearly see the effort and thought that went into every aspect of the home and that the owners truly care about your comfort and experience. The house is outfitted nicely and the kitchen is very functional and well supplied. The view from the front porch is beautiful. We saw 4-6 deer grazing on the lawn every day, morning and evening, and even got a visit from a fox! There is plenty to do in the area as well. Wineries, Meaderies, hiking, horse back riding, art, etc., and Charlottesville is an easy half hour drive away. My only complaint is the lack of a large and comfortable bed. The biggest bed available was about the size of a queen and not particularly comfortable, but the full was comfortable and there were twin size beds downstairs that we did not try. Not bad enough to knock off a star though. We will certainly be back!

Another great mini vacation. Hasn’t disappointed us yet from the beautiful fall mountains to the visits from the deer. The House and surroundings welcoming and warm to be stress free.

My wife and I loved Windy Knoll. We’ve stayed at dozens of rentals the past 25 years and this rates #1. It’s beautifully furnished and very clean. The location is perfect and the view from the front porch is stunning. Such a peaceful setting. We will return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our second visit to Windy Knoll, and will definitely be back. Setting so peaceful but so easy to get places. Saw a production at the American Shakespeare Center in Staunton, had a very informative and interesting guide to the Camera Heritage Museum. Visited the caverns at Grottoes, took a great trail ride at Star B Stables, and loved sampling their excellent ciders at Albemarle Ciderworks. So much more left to do!

The house is great, well stocked and very clean. Wendy is a great host! Very comfortable place. We didn't want to leave the front porch! The driveway nights at night are a nice touch. Enjoyed seeing a family of deer crossing the open yard. There's a lot to see within 30 minutes, from the 4000 ft long RxR tunnel and walking trail, Blue Ridge Drive, hiking trails and historic towns. We'd love to return.

Great location. Short drive to the Blue Ridge Tunnel trail (which I highly recommend). If you want a quiet retreat, this is the perfect place. Amenities for shopping are a little drive (10-20 min). Also found a great little worship place called Yeshua’s House of Prayer and boy does the worship team and pastor Steve Wolcott bring it. Worth the drive to Raphibe experience the views. Home had everything needed for a visit. We stayed a full week and saw wildlife multiple times a day. Would book again without hesitation.

This is our I believe 4th stay at Windy Knoll and as always we had a fantastic time. Location is perfect, house is very clean and we had everything we needed! Looking forward to next time hopefully in the near future.

Windy Knoll was absolutely beautiful place to stay. Everything was clean, nice, and had so many amenities. The porch and the views it offers in the mornings and evenings are spectacular. Each evening offered deer in the meadow area as well as a black bear on the lane coming in one evening The hosts were easy to reach by text if you had a question. Wonderful place to stay! We would definitely go back.

We rented this beautiful property for our son’s graduation. Wendy and Mike were very easy to reach and thought of every detail! Bug spray , laundry detergent, paw wipes etc. it was further out from Charlottesville than we wanted to stay but ended up being perfect balance between festivities and a place to have peaceful family time. Great place to stay!

We stayed here for a destination family wedding at Valley Road Vineyards. Couldn't have been better. Super clean, comfortable beds, everything you need. Loved having coffee on the front porch. Very relaxing. Host is fabulous! Thank you Wendy.

This is our fourth time at Windy Knoll and it was again a splendid stay. Although comfortable previously, the wood floors in the living space and a freshly painted kitchen made the space even more inviting. Since we last visited we discovered Staunton, Virginia and several fine restaurants which added to those in Charlottesville and the local wineries and breweries make this location a great food experience. We shall return again.

Everything was great. I rented it for my folks - dad 77 mom 72. They said they haven't felt so relaxed in years. They had a tough year - and "The Knoll" was just what the dr ordered. Thanks Wendy and Mike :)

Our stay at Windy Knoll was magical. The home was so well stocked with everything we could possibly need and more during our stay. It was so clean and so gorgeous, and the view was just amazing. We are already planning our next trip back to Windy Knoll and can’t wait!

This property and house was perfect for our relaxing getaway. I almost hate to give it such a great rating because it will just get that much more popular and hard to book in the future. It is the only rental that I hope to stay at again. all of the other rentals I’ve stayed at over the years have been nice enough, but we never had the desire to book again, not the case with this beautiful mini paradise.

Lovely house and beautiful property. One of the nicest rentals we have stayed at. The host ensured the house was well stocked with additional toiletries and other useful items. House is near the southern entrance to Shenandoah National Park. We enjoy hiking in the park, so we will rent this house again.

The house and property were more than we ever expected. The house was clean and filled with many amenities that made our stay very comfortable. The mountain views from the porches as well as our bed were spectacular. We also took many pictures of some awesome sun rises and sun sets. We absolutely loved our stay.

My family had a smashing time at Windy Knoll. The house is very welcoming, clean, and well equipped. Little one had so much fun, it was hard to leave. The loft was the favorite part of the house, as well as the streams. Nature offered a variety of “toys” and plenty of entertainment. Our pup also had a blast running down the hill and fetching balls. This was our first time, but not the last one.

We had a great time at Windy Knoll. The views of the Blue Ridge mountains from the home and the awesome front porch were amazing. The home was clean, comfy, and spacious and the kitchen was well appointed; we cooked some great meals during our family weekend getaway. Windy Knoll is very easy to get to, just a few minutes off the interstate, but also very secluded. There are great wineries, breweries, and cideries near by (Veritas Vineyards is very close and a great way to enjoy an afternoon in the Blue Ridge). We will sure to be back for future trips to the area.

Our second visit to Windy Knoll was just perfect! Such a beautiful, comfortable home with everything you would ever need already there! Windy Knoll welcomes you in with a charming front porch and gorgeous views. The surrounding area has lots to do and is also beautiful-it’s a perfect combination! We enjoyed exploring and then coming back to just relax and enjoy the views. We’re already planning another fall visit next year!
