Great place to stay, lovely playroom for the kids, great location close to the main St and not far from attractions.

Great location for tourist attractions and shopping. Fireplace made the home feel cosy during the cooler nights. Creature comforts of home while not at home.

The house is located close to shops and beautiful walks. It's full of useful things for kids - toys, high chairs etc. Our kids had a fantastic time. Lisa was helpful throughout the whole process. We would definitely stay here again.

If you are looking for a spacious, cosy and relaxed place to hang out at this is the place. The house is well equipped for a autumn/winter mountain stay. It has a cosy fireplace, oil heaters in all rooms and electric blankets on all beds. Bedding & towels were supplied which was great! Also a few logs to get your fire started. If you have babies or kids there is plenty of equipment, toys and games to keep them busy. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and preparing food. The bedrooms are modern & comfortable. It's not to far by car to all the main sights and towns but could be a bit steep for walking in the area for some. There is great coffee & service at nearby cafe Cassiopeia and Hinkler Park for a kids playground. The owner is very friendly, quick to respond, helpful and answer queries :)

House needs a really good clean and some basic maintaince,we had issues with the following Mouldy Shower screen, Cold draft coming thru sun room door that didnt close, screen door and side gate not closing , so banging in wind at night, oven not working and cobwebs in side . Personal cupboard not locked.

The house was very well equipped for 4 adults and two small children. The only negatives we experienced were an unclean BBQ from the last guests and a leaking roof in the back sun room when it rained.

Great little home that is roomy enough for 4 adults and 2 children. All the essentials you need and more. The kids loved the plentiful toys and games. It was a lovely touch to have some goodies left in the fridge on arrival. House was clean and tidy however some of the dishes had not been cleaned properly (this is an expectation of the previous guests though) and the back patio could have been swept to enjoy more use while the kids play outside. Close to all the attractions around the blue mountains. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.

We stayed for a couple of nights in August. Having a backyard was great for kids(4 & 7) as were all the kids toys in the front room.

Could not fault our stay, we were lucky enough to be able to experience snow. We woke up to a think blanket of snow covering the property and surrounding katoomba. It was so surreal.

We had a great few days at Explorer's Cottage, Katoomba. It was a spacious and comfortable place for us, and well-equipped. The kids loved the toys there, the garden and the cubby/slide in the garden. We all enjoyed the real fire and this made the living area cosy, although (being a very cold time of year) the bedrooms were chilly (even with heaters on) so take plenty of warm clothes in winter. A lovely house.

Explorers cottage was a great place to stay in Katoomba, it really catered for children and we loved the fireplace Thank you

Really enjoyed the stay here, and had fantastic facilities everything you could ask for. Also the location id brilliant to explore the blue mountains. Bring a jumper for the night time :)

My sons and I had wonderful time staying at Lisa´s place. She was presente every time we needed her. The house and the garden are simply fantastic. Thank you very much.

We had a fabulous stay at Explorers Cottage! As a group of 5 runners we found it comfortable and roomy and we would highly recommend it to any group. It is close enough to the main street to walk to get food and supplies but far enough away to ensure peace and quiet. You don't need children to enjoy the comforts of Explorers Cottage as it caters for adult groups and couples just as well as it does for kids. Lisa was lovely and provided us with recommendations and local information over the holiday period.

Explorers Cottage has a great location, and it was perfect for travelling with a toddler (e.g., toys in the sunroom, slide out back, kids dishes in the kitchen, blanket with cars). The house was well equipped and the beds were comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. Two possible improvements: as another guest mentioned, more toilet paper would be nice --we had to stock up in town. Also, without a hatchet to break up the wood, we couldn't get a nice fire going, so it was a bit chilly. Thanks for a great visit!

We had a great stay at Explorers Cottage - the cottage is clean, comfortable and cosy - would sleep 6 or 7 people comfortably - and is fantastic for children with a great sunroom packed full of toys and a big yard with swing-set. The kids loved the open fire too - plenty of wood and firelighters were provided. Good value for money. Can't beat the location - a short walk to the main street of Katoomba - loved taking a stroll out for dinner and seeing the cottage solar lighting in the garden welcoming us home! We'll be back!

Although there were 7 of us (family + grandparents), we found the place to be quite roomy, open and spacious. The sunroom was a real bonus, particularly with the abundance of games, video games, and toys for the kids. The kitchen was very clean and heavily stocked with new crockery, baking dishes and high-end appliances - a real gourmet delight. Having the washer/dryer at our disposal was very convenient. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were cozy, especially with the heated blankets. All shops and services are a walk away, and the start/finish line for the North Face 100 race was just down the road - couldn't get any better! I'll certainly be going back.

This is a well located cottage, which has undercover parking in the front yard. The cottage is well equipped, lovely and comfortable. The back yard is securely fenced, which is a big draw card for me with the young kids, also the enclosed rumpus room at the front of the house was perfect for the wet day we had. The kids had a ball climbing on the fort and playing with the toys in the rumpus room. The owners have really thought about what you need when you are away from home, with or without the kids!

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Explorers cottage. We booked last minute and they made it easy for us. The house is very modern with a fully equipped kitchen.It has a coffee machine! perfect for early morning starts. There are a range of toys for the kids such as a playstation, dvds and player and kids toys. The parking can easily fit two cars, having one undercover. The place was clean and a lovely experience for us!
