Just what 2 friends traveling together needed. Great size, very clean with everything needed provided. Steps from the beach with very nice neighbors. Laura made check-in easy and was friendly and helpful when we met. Definitely on my list for a return trip!

Quaint, private and the best location to amenities and beach access right across the road

We enjoy SGI, and Beach Bum cottages are a great place to stay and do just that!

Older property but HC accessible which is what we needed (no steps). Weather was colder and cloudy but right across street from beach! Good for older people. Walks along the beach were great!

Property is in a great location. Easy access to the beach and fairly quiet! Price was on point. NO stairs is a big plus. The pool needs some attention but nice to have at the end of the day on the beach. Laura the Property manager took good care of us and our needs. We would definitely stay thete again

St George Island is full of large rental homes and it's hard to find a reasonably priced place to accommodate a smaller group of 4 people, and I'm so happy to have found Beach Bum Cottages, which has 4 cottages together that can house 4 people per cottage (2 bedrooms per unit). This is our second stay here, and we love it. Its the perfect size, close to the beach, clean and nicely furnished. The pool is clean and well maintained. The property manager is terrific and responds quickly to any questions that come up. I can't say enough nice things about it. Staying here again when we come back!

Beach Bum Cottages is a great place to spend a week practicing to be one! Great location & easy to make it home away from home. Pets allowed & access to pool was a plus! Owner responded in timely manner. Property manager was friendly & attentive. Highly recommended!

This small bungalow is wonderful for a couple. The location to the beach is terrific-just across the street. The property manager, Laura, is terrific! She responded to all of our requests very quickly and was able to bring us beach towels and chairs that were not provided in the unit.

I hesitate to write an awesome review, ONLY because I don’t want someone to take my dates!! This location was great, everything was clean and comfortable. Check in/out was incredibly easy. Can’t wait to go back!!

My priorities for this trip were close proximity to the beach and affordability. This property met both. I read the reviews first and had a good idea what to expect. Bottom line: I would stay here again for a short stay - we stayed 3 nights. The location was perfect - walk across the street and you're on the beach. The other side of the block had a paved walking/bike path and it was an easy mile walk to the center of the island. The property had most everything one would need on a short stay. Bed linens were comfortable and the metal shelving racks in one bedroom and the kitchen were handy. Downside: the mattresses were very uncomfortable - neither bed had a boxspring, but the mattresses were not foam, so need the added support. There is nowhere in the bathroom to set toiletries - I would remove the floorstanding towel rack and replace it with other shelving for toiletries and hang towel hooks on the wall; there is mildew around the grout line of the tub surround ; the walls adjacent to the other unit are not soundproof - at all ; would move the dresser that blocks the exterior door of the back bedroom as that would be a secondary fire exit since there are no windows; both doors to the bathroom are narrow and would be difficult if someone uses a walker. Property manager was friendly, prompt and check in was smooth. With a little updating, this property would be great.

Property was clean and great location. Excellent communication with the owner and property manager. The perfect place for our stay and will definitely book again. The only negative, if any, is that there was no TV in the bedrooms. Thanks!

SGI has long been a favorite of ours. Laid back and beautiful. Beach bum was well located, and well maintained. Furniture and beds not ideal for long term stays.

The property was great location, really a perfect cozy cottage. Only drawback was very uncomfortable chair and couch witch normally wouldn't be an issue but bad weather forced us inside for a day.

This stay was perfect for the three of us and our dog Daisey. Clean, well equipped, cool. Easy access to the beach and we loved the pool. We will definitely be staying here again!

Very nice group of little cottages. We had a group of 4 adults, and the single cottage was perfect for us. Getting info from the owner and property manager was easy, they respond to questions quickly. The cottage and property was clean and well supplied, and it was very nice to just have a code to get in with no keys or cards to haul around. Parking spots were clearly marked and easy to park 2 cars in 1 spot. Location was great, right across the not at all busy street to the public beach access, and the inground pool was clean with lots of seating etc around the pool for guests from all cottages to have plenty of room to sit and mingle or not as you choose. We will definitely be booking again on our next trip to St George.

My wife and I needed some downtime and time to relax and not have any schedules or agendas. This is the prefect place for that. We highly recommend St George Island and Beach Bum property

We had a blast...will do it again

The property is across from a tranquil beach, largely empty in mid-April, so we had it all to ourselves. The unit was clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen had all the basic cooking utensils, pots, pans and dishes, so we were able to cook without issues. The pool was very nice and clean, a bit cold this time of the year. Laundry room was stocked with detergent and well functioning washer/dryer. The island had everything we needed, few small restaurants for nice lunch/dinner (not crowded, 20 min walk) and a couple of grocery stores (Piggly Wiggly was the better one of the two). The State Park at the tip of the island provided a vast natural beach for even more tranquil adventures. There is even a nice Natural Centre across the bay when kids wanted to stay away from the sun. Overall this place had everything we wanted from a Florida vacation: empty beaches with easy access, uncrowded restaurants and a nicely maintained property well stocked for a week of fun. Even the weather played along with lovely sunny days in the 70's (mid-April).

Brought the kiddos down for spring break to visit their aunt and uncle. Loved staying at the cottage. Girls loved the pool and able to walk over to beach. Plus we got to bring our puppy who loved the beach! Laura and Emil were awesome.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. Close enough to the beach to walk back and forth. Quiet area, not alot of people on the beach. Would definitely stay there again.

A great place, location and transaction! Have owned property and stayed at SGI for years. This was a wonderful trip experience. Delighted with the entire visit. This is a very safe, clean, and great place to stay.
