My friends and I rented the house for a birthday fishing trip weekend. The house was clean, comfortable and just what we needed! Close to the fishing sites, able to bring our own boats to fish the lake or do some kayaking. We met the owners the last morning of our stay and they were super friendly. Would highly recommend and will be looking to book again next year!

Quiet place at the end of a quiet private road. Beautiful lake views. Liked the very clean screened gazebo with plenty of comfy chairs to relax in as you view the lake. Lots of room to play on the lawn by the lake. Has a sandy beach. Plenty of chairs on the deck and by large fire pit. New kitchen is very nice. Not much lighting though. Could use more updating in the house, especially in bedrooms, but overall, a positive experience.

I really enjoyed staying here. It has a very cozy vibe with some cool mid-century touches. I appreciate that this is a family home and liked seeing the family photos and mementos. There were definitely some things that could have used freshening up but none of that really bothered us at all as we are fairly laid-back people. The beds and furniture were comfy, and really as long as I can relax and sleep comfortably, I’m good. Only a few small things I think could be improved: We couldn’t get the dishwasher working and hand washing dishes is not my favorite thing to do on vacation . The sponge provided to wash dishes was quite old and unappealing. There were no toiletries provided, which wasn’t something we needed but are used to seeing at VRBO properties. A set of newer towels for guests would be appreciated, as well as some basic toiletries as I have come to expect that from VRBO rentals even if I don’t usually use them. Again, these are all pretty minor issues and were easily overcome by the wonderful location.

It gets deeper very gradually, so you have to walk out about 100 feet (the end of the dock) for an adult to have room to swim. The wind is usually off-shore, so the shorefront is usually quite calm, even on days when the prevailing wind is quite strong. The lake itself is also beautiful, surrounded on all sides by heavily wooded small hills. Just the spot for a very relaxing getaway.

Situated on a beautiful beach. Prevailing wind is blocked by trees. Plenty of sun or shade depending on your preference. As always a week on Platte Lake is just relaxing.

You can not beat the location. True up North vibe and feeling. I chose the cottage as it was perfect for my family and I didn't have to worry about tip toeing the family around it. It is adequate for all things. The lake is perfect. Sandy shore, super sandy lake access. Great for paddle boarding and kayaking. Great fireplace and fully stocked with everything you need. Highly recommend for the family.

Property manager is the most responsive I have seen on HomeAway rentals. Gets back to you within hours, not days.

This cottage was super easy to rent and with the weather as perfect as we were blessed with, we spent all our time on the porch and beach! The location is central to so many day trips it couldn’t have been any better! Thank you for helping us make more family memories!!

Great quiet location and charming cottage! We loved being on the lake during the day and using the fire pit in the evening. It was just what our family needed! And thank you Gina for always responding quickly to my questions!

Truly a slice of heaven. My family really enjoyed the Tocco cottage. The cottage was amazing. Everything we needed was there,the beds were very comfortable. The location is perfect. The beach and lake were wonderful,we kayaked the lake and river. Just a perfect vacation cottage

This was our third year at Tocco's catch and we will be booking again next year!! Best rental location on the lake and all new beds this year was a pleasant surprise. Canoe from the house to Lake Michigan with canoes provided on the property.

Great house and great location. Very clean, and close to everything. It was perfect size for our stay - 4 adults, 1 toddler, and 1 newborn. Had a great deck and backyard for our son to play in. All the beds were comfortable, and having towels/linens available was a nice convenience. The only "issue" we had was that the beach had a good amount of weeds, and the first 5-10 feet when walking into the water was very muddy. You sank up to your ankles when walking in.

Cluttered, not clean. No towels till we found them in the dryer on Monday. Rugs in bathrooms dirty. Sheets on lower bunks used, we washed them. Sticky kitchen floor. Dirty carpet, we all had black feet. Mattress on queen bed should be replaced. Fans are filthy. 4-slice toaster only works for 2 slices. Seems to be a family retreat that no one takes care of, just rents. We had to ignore so much negativity as we were tied to this rental with no alternative, We traveled 500 miles expecting a nice place to stay. Can't imagine VRBO advertising this place posting POSITIVE reviews.

We have been vacationing on Platte Lake for over 30 years, and my husbands family 30 years before that! So we have stayed many places around Platte Lake, but Tocco's Catch has been one of our favorites and best vacations yet! The house accommodations suited our family of 8, loved the big table we all could eat at! the kitchen had plenty utensils and dishes to make meals for all of us! But our favorite part of our stay was the yard, beach, shallow entrance into the lake and the dock! This side of Platte lake is so calm and enjoyable, we LOVED IT! And will definitely be back! Nice Lakeview ! Great location to alot of great Lake Michigan beaches and cities . All of the beds could use an upgrade but all and all we had a great vacation!

Great location on Platte Lake. Cottage is at the end of a private drive. Mattresses are due for an upgrade.

Clean cottage, beds and linens need to be replaced (aged). Beach requires cleanup as weeds have grown in. Nice having canoes and paddles available.

Our family loved our time at Tocco's on Big Platte. Our kiddos are ages 6 and 9 and it was a perfect place for us all to unwind and enjoy the beauty that surrounds. We did miss the entrance road a few times on check-in day, but it's forever burned in our minds now, so we'll remember that the next time we stay. The beauty of this spot is that it's secluded yet super close to everything you might want if you decide to hop in the car...super close to Riverside for ice cream, essentials, and floating/kayaking to Loon, a short drive to all of the tourist hot-spots, and not far from the drive-in for a family movie-night. Several quaint restaurants are nearby, but honestly, we LOVED making dinners at the cottage...grilling out on the charcoal grill nearly every night and just relaxing. The kitchen is nicely equipped for cooking most anything to enjoy on the picnic table provided on the deck that overlooks Big Platte. The shallow entry and beach area were fantastic for the kiddos. The fire pit by the beach was also a great place to have nightly bonfires for s'mores making. The inside of the cottage had everything we needed. There was more than enough space for our family of four to relax through the evening after fun-filled days. The beds were comfortable and the sunrises were spectacular to wake up to. You can sense the love in this family-owned cottage, as it's apparent generations have made and shared a lot of special memories in that same spot.
