We love this house! Great location super convenient to Wisp and the house has everything we need. Margie & Mike are great hosts, super communicative and respond quickly. Look forward to coming back next year!

The hosts are the best. The place is very clean and only problem is it didn’t snow much. 😢😢😢 So many things to do. Lots of space. Kitchen has pantry plenty of room. One suggestion the lights are not real bright over the table and was hard to see when playing games. Definitely would go back

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful property. One of the best things was there were queen or king sized beds in all bedrooms for the adult married couples in our family. So many properties have twin beds.

Everything was perfect - location, coziness, livability of the space in general. We had a wonderful time for my dad’s 80th and would stay here again in a heartbeat! Everyone had their own space, the whole house was very comfortable to live in, which is always the biggest aspect to mail perfectly, which this place did. Loved it!

The home was very comfortable. It had cable television and air hockey and pool table for the kids. Plenty of sleeping space and plenty of bathrooms. Location was beautiful on a mountain road overlooking the lake. Close proximity to the ski resort and the downtown area with restaurants and shopping. We walked the dog on the road in front of the house. Very safe. We ventured down to the neighborhood boat dock to see the lake. Very steep stairs through the woods, but very fun and definitely worth the trip. Overall, a wonderful getaway for an extended weekend in the Fall.

This place is beautiful, spacious and is equipped with everything a person needs. We would definitely stay again.

This house was beautiful and almost perfect. The only reason I did not give it all five stars is because it needs a deep cleaning.

Long escape weekend with grandsons. Very nice home. Enjoyed having 4 bedrooms & bathrooms, with comfortable beds. The open living/dining area was very nice. Ceiling fans & screened slider provided great air - we never had to open the windows. The walk to the dock was a bit of a challenge - many more steps than I expected, but not a problem. Kids loved having pool table & air hockey. Overall, a clean, comfortable vacation spot.

The rooms were spacious and the house was comfortable for the 6 of us. There is no air conditioning so pay attention to the weather in the warm season. We went in the very beginning of June and it was a little warm in the evening. They have fans so airflow is still there. The kitchen is well stocked minus salt and pepper. The game room downstairs is a great place to stay entertained in the evenings. There are plenty of things to do in the area for outside day excursions. I would recommend staying at this house.

Great house for group of friends who enjoyed eating, drinking, kayaking, hiking and campfires over the Memorial Day weekend.

This is our second time staying at the property and it was just as amazing as our first stay. Wisp is right down the street which was convenient for some fun in the snow. When we got back to the house the kids loved the pool table and air hockey while the adults were able to warm in front of the fire with views of the lake. We will be back again for sure!

The property was great...even better than the pictures! We stayed with just our family (2 adults + 3 children under 7), but could have easily fit more people / another family if doing a bigger group trip. The hosts were very easy to contact and nice to work with. Helpful magazines/brochures on the Deep Creek area were available in the house. Recommendation: Ask to ensure the driveway is plowed before arriving (if this can be accommodated). As note in the property description it is steep. Even with 4WD SUV, we got stuck going up the unplowed climb.

We had a wonderful vacation at Deep Creek Lake, one of the best ever. The first day we saw 4 bears right from the deck of the house. We took an informational boat tour of the lake thru Wisp resort. We visited Oakland, MD, the lavender farm, Swallow Falls State Park, and Wisp Resort. Make sure to take the Alpine slide ride while you are there. We rode the rail bikes thru Tracks and Yaks in Frostburg, MD. We were a group of 8 retirees and loved everything about the house and our stay. I’d love to stay again and enjoy this lovely area.

Our whole stay the water was cold. We had to take cold showers each day. The house was nice and the host was nice too. They made sure a book included everything for the house and area that was needed. However, the cold showers made our stay a unpleasant.

The overlook house was perfect for our family weekend get away. The owners were communicative and accommodating. Great, cozy property perfect for a multi-generational gathering.

We had a really nice time. Well stocked kitchen that has standard appliances. Spacious house with a bathroom for each bedroom which I thought was very convenient. We booked in the fall when the nights were cold but would warm up to perfect light jacket or just long sleeve shirt temperatures. Very comfortable climate inside with the electric baseboard heaters. Although the house has a fireplace we never used it - it would have made it too hot. Beautiful scenery especially the changing colors of the leaves. Loved having a lot of deer and chipmunks come up close to the house. Very steep walk to the lake -once there though it was beautiful and quiet. I enjoy fishing but wasn’t very successful although I did manage to catch one 17” walleye. State park nearby was worth the short ride for the trails and waterfalls. Game room was great for some fun but the pool table is in need of maintenance. There are stores nearby within minutes but I recommend bringing food as the grocery store was high and the refrigerator is full sized. Owner answered any questions I had before going and was mostly very prompt when responding .Overall a nice area and vacation !

The house was well stocked with amenities, and it was close to lots of fun activities.

I will start this review from this moment and work backwards. There is a man on a large loud mower at 8:00 am coming right up next to the windows of the house making a terrible amount of noise. It’s pretty inconsiderate, to say the least, considering all of the windows are open without A/C. We arrived to the house expecting no A/C, so we opened all of the windows and turned all of the fans on. The screen door on the main floor is destroyed and doesn’t stay on the tracks, so I fixed that daily. We sat on the deck chairs and literally almost broke our necks on chairs that tip all the way backwards. The basement has a huge water issue, so the owners run a dehumidifier 24/7. That doesn’t get rid of the moisture in the carpets, which are FILTHY throughout the house and reek of urine and pets. We wore shoes all the time in the house because of the state of them. The humidifier does do a great job of making the basement unbearably hot, though…even on a cool August night. The bathrooms are really dated and pretty gross, with mold in the the cracks and crevices of the showers. The smell of mildew in the garage is so bad that it is unusable. It is clear that the owners purchased this place as-is, and have done nothing to bring it into the current century. A little bit of TLC and some upgrades would go a long way and allow them to charge more. I did not contact the owners about the condition of their house because there is nothing they could have done immediately to remedy the state of it. This was a family getaway before sending our son off to college nearby. The location of the house is great and convenient. It is large enough for everyone to have privacy. The air hockey table was a nice addition. The pool table is junk. *revising this review to add that the owner claims that my family did thousands of dollars worth of damage to their tired and dirty home. The day we checked out they sent me a text message claiming that a table was ruined and needed replacing. They then added another table, and then their old laminate countertops. I am shocked by this behavior and disappointed that an owner would take advantage of a renter in this manner.

We are a family of 8, 7 adults and 1 toddler. Plenty of space for all of us. Loved that each bedroom had their own full bathroom! Aside from wear and tear from rentals, the house was great and check in and out instructions were perfect! We saw bears, 3 different days while we were there in our yard. Very exciting! Deep Creek is the place to be for quietness and relaxation at this home.

Everyone had a great time. Bears, groundhog, chipmunks and ducks added to the entertainment. Lots of things to do for the whole family.

We enjoyed the house very much and it was perfect for the 4 family units that were there. The kitchen is a little small but we tried not to all be in there at one time. :) The hot tub was a hit, as was the air hockey and the firepit. The walk down to the lake was much steeper than we anticipated and could be a problem for older people to navigate. We had a great family time and would definitely recommend this to other renters.
