What a lovely spot for a fall trip! The kitchen was perfectly appointed for both cooking from scratch and reheating takeout, and everything was super clean - both key in the era of COVID. The location was convenient to all my favorite spots in Eastham and Wellfleet. Just the shortest walk to a beautiful bay beach, and the gas fireplace kept the house toasty and inviting even on a rainy or chilly night. Thank you for a great long weekend escape in a challenging year!

We came for the long weekend and the place was exactly what we wanted, a cozy little place on the seashore. There was plenty of space for the 4 of us and it was nicely appointed with everything we needed. We loved the decor and that the beach was just a short walk from the cottage. Even though it was October, there was still plenty to do in the area. Autumn in Cape Cod is something I will certainly experience again. Charles and Paula were excellent hosts who kept in touch while we stayed over. Just a wonderful trip all round.

I love returning to this beach house each year. It feels like home. Decor is wonderful as is the fireplace for off-season visits.

We loved everything about Steele Away! The size, the location, the proximity to the beach...it was awesome! The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable and we loved the fireplace in the cool evenings. We also loved the sunporch and had our coffee there every morning. Eastham was convenient to everything we wanted to do and see. We'll definitely be back!💖� And the owners are responsive, helpful and courteous!

This charming cottage was the perfect headquarters for our fall visit to Cape Cod. We wanted to relax and recharge and this place was ideal: blissfully quiet, exceedingly comfortable, thoughtfully equipped and perfectly maintained. We made full use of the well-organized kitchen and enjoyed meals on the enclosed porch. The gas fireplace was especially welcome on cool evenings and mornings. We loved our long walks along the gorgeous beach, just a few steps from the cottage. The sunsets were stunning! A short drive takes you to many outstanding destinations, including the splendid Massachusetts Audubon Society Wildlife Sanctuary and National Seashore sites. You don’t have to go far to find the best of Cape Cod. It’s evident that the owners truly care about the property and make every effort to accommodate their guests. Would we go back to Steele Away Cottage? In a heartbeat!

We loved our week in Eastham. The house was conveniently located near a very nice beach and the the right distance to the amazing Cape Cod Rail Trail which we biked on almost every day we were there. We especially loved the huge outdoor shower. It got really chilly a few nights when we were hanging in but there was a gas fireplace which warmed us up. Highly recommend this house.

The house is compact and comfortable. It easily accommodates 2-4 people. Space is provided for two more people, probably best if they are children or young adults. The skylights in the living room are bright enough that I thought they were floodlights and spent several minutes looking for a switch to turn them off/down. They do a great job lighting the central part of the house. The shower in the bathroom is claustraphobic. If the weather permits, I encourage you to use the outdoor shower. It has much to recommend it. The property is well maintained, secluded and handsome. A stroll through the surrounding streets is a good way to spend an afternoon. The beach is less than a five-minute walk away. The sand is lovely, though the amount of seaweed in the water made swimming less appealing. At low tide, the beach stretches for several hundred yards or more; there are no dropoffs to surprise the unwary wader.

Our family of 4 loved staying at this beach house. The location was really ideal. It was a short 2 minute walk to the bay beach and a 2 minute drive to Hole in One, which has the best pastries and coffee! The house is exactly as you see in the pictures. The sun room is a lovely addition to the house. Having AC was a nice bonus although we rarely needed it during our stay. The outdoor shower was huge and had both hot and cold water. I usually stay at beach houses that are part of a private association beach. The beach access here is a public beach. However, not having the stairs of a private association beach was really nice and our beach was never crowded even though it had public access. We were very pleased with this house!

Great 2 minute walk to bayside beach and lots of shade and privacy in the yard to cool off & relax after. Excellent outdoor shower also. Quick ride to ocean beaches too. Everything you need is in the cottage and owners easy to reach if needed. Looking forward to returning in the future.

We had a great time!

I cannot say enough about this rental! The location is prime- barely a 2 minute walk from a private beach. The house has a private yard and two porches. We ate all of our meals outside! The grill was a great addition and we used it for cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner. Inside, the home was comfortable and clean. I enjoyed sleeping in the porch bedroom which had beautiful lighting in the morning. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, colanders, tin foil, different kinds of glasses and many other utensils that helped us cook. We loved the fireplace as well, since the nights are still a bit chilly in May. There were games, books and extra blankets in the closet. A well thought out vacation home. There is talk of coming back next year already. Thanks to Charles and Paula for welcoming us into their home.

Great house....wish it was mine !!!! Being so close to the beach was wonderful and at this time of year there was very little traffic....very quiet! We loved it.

As shown. Immaculate. Well supplied kitchen with plenty of utensils which I appreciated as I like to cook. Furnishings are lovely and well thought out. We loved the sunporch. The ocean is right there! Charles and Paula were helpful and responsive. We will probably go back but will wait for owners to make the insulation changes they have planned to come back in cool weather. That was our 4star instead of 5. Be sure to note that you need to bring sheets and towels.

The cottage was very nice. While staying there, we experienced two kinds of weather for a Fall stay, we had two days of warm, humid weather and a couple of rainy, cool days. The gas fireplace warmed the cottage on the cooler days and made it cozy. The cottage is well equipped with dishes, pots and pans. It is in a beautiful location, the beach a few steps down the road, we saw some gorgeous sunsets there. Also Eastham is a convenient location to a lot of Cape Cod beaches and attractions.

Cozy, efficient, everything we needed, beds were comfortable, would happily come back again.

We had an excellent week at Steele Away in Eastham! The gas fireplace was much appreciated during a cool week in late September. The property had everything we needed -- and then some, with plenty of space for four adults. We loved the proximity to the beach and had some lovely walks on the beach when the tide was out. The owners have clearly thought of everything in terms of meeting the needs of their guests and we will definitely be returning next year! Everything went very smoothly with booking the property and we appreciated all communication from the owners. Thank you for a great vacation!

From first sight this is a very good rental. Exterior and interior upgrades are obvious (see photo flip-folio located on the hanging plate cabinet). We loved the spacious hot water outdoor shower. Washer and dryer are a plus for mid-week laundry (didn't have to pack as much clothing). The gas fireplace was great for mid-September chill mornings and evenings. Cook's Brook Beach, a short walk away, had beautiful sunsets. Having good cable TV made for good am and pm news and weather viewing, and evening baseball games. Alexa was a hoot. One moment "she" could understand "Eastham" and the next not. Overall, a good, solid rental. Only a few suggestions, some of which may be in the next wave of upgrades: 1-indoor shower had wonky doors and some mildew/mold around bottom. 2-Bathmat could have used a good washing before we arrived; we weren't sure if stacked washer would be too out of balance, or we would have washed it. 3-Beds were too hard for any of the 3 of us to sleep comfortably. 4-Sofa and matching chair were also uncomfortable to sit on for any duration. 5-House instructions could be updated to correct wifi password typo (case-sensitive).
