This is the perfect self-catering apartment - It is well-equipped and has a large, comfortable double bed. With excellent facilities for relaxing and reading, or swimming in a well-maintained pool, it matched our needs to perfection. Cooking facilities are excellent, with a personal BBQ completing the picture. The tiled floors and uncluttered design make cleaning very easy. Marie-Line and Stephane are prefect hosts, generous, attentive but discreet. Marie-Line shared her local knowledge and we ate twice at the wonderful, 'les Barges' - a seafood market, with its own restaurant (windows looking out to sea (an easy walk from the apartment). We are happy to recommend la Chaumette, especially to older couples. We had the ground-floor apartment that was perfect for our needs, as it opened out onto the large terrace with ample shade. La Chaumette is tranquil. Just a short walk from the Cote Sauvage and an easy walk into the bustling town of les Sables d'Olonne it catered well for the two delightful weeks we spent here.

The stairs from the front door were challenging, (I have prosthetic knees) but our hosts were more than willing to help with luggage.

There was everything we needed for our stay and Marie-Line was very helpful without being intrusive. Located within easy walking access to local shops and restaurants yet within a very quiet neighbourhood. The apartment was beautifully presented, very clean, with much appreciated hanging space etc. Would definately recommend for a couple.

Nice pool and outside area although rather overgrown

There was an electric toilet which was very loud and we didn't dare flush it at night as it would have woken the neighbourhood! The kitchen/dining area was very small and if the weather had been cold it would have been very difficult to eat inside.

It was perfect the swimming pool was a real bonus- it was in a quiet location but close to shops and excellent restaurants

Location was perfect, short walk to the quayside.

felt that there was a lot of emphasis on charges especially for bed linen @ €20 was a bit much. Also €70 for cleaning which does not include the kitchen area or removal of bins is steep to say the least. Luckily as we eat out we were able to do our own cleaning , but struggled to see where that charge could be justified.(if used)
