Nestled in Edisto Beach, this attractive cottage for $387 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. True original oceanfront Edisto cottage on front beach, with screen porch facing the ocean, and sundeck facing the street. Enjoy the rocking chairs and also an eating/ gaming table on the porch (4 rocking chairs and table with 4 chairs on screen porch). One full bath upstairs with walk-in shower, and a full beach bath downstairs (shower only). Extra clean and well maintained. Large screen TV in living area & small TV in front bedroom Charcoal Grill Linens & bath towels are included. House rents from Saturday to Saturday. We do not provide beach chairs - there are places on Edisto where you can rent them. Small pets considered (must be under 35#s) - pet fee is $175/week for 1st pet & $75/week for each additional pet! I don't want to praise this place too much, because it's already so popular, but it was perfect, & exactly what we were looking for! That screened in porch with the rocking chairs was a wonderful place to hang out. A few steps & you are right on the beach. You could lay in bed & see the ocean & hear the waves! Everything was as described, & it was nice to meet the owners. I hope we get to go back someday.

We had a fantastic time, couldn’t have picked a better location on Edisto island. The cottage was clean, cozy and outfitted with linens. Edisto island is a simple beach town where you can bike to everything. It’s near perfection for a relaxed beach vacation.
The owners were extremely responsive and easy to work with… we will definitely be back!

We enjoyed our stay here... The house is cute and although others labeled it "dated", I think of it as more "nostalgic"... It had everything we needed and sitting on the screened in porch looking at the ocean was my favorite part!

We love this cottage - the porch is the place to be! Stayed here many years back but group got too big. Came back for 40th anniversary and had a wonderful March week. Owners we’re very responsive and thoughtful. Totally recommend!

Life, in general, has been a bit on the nerve wracking level for past three years .....my precious husband and i just needed to get away for a stressfree escape.....this was it...he walked and collected shells.I sat on oceant front screened in deck reading and writing...God blessed us with His beautiful sunrises and moon rises...

Our stay at the Sanders’ cottage was probably the most enjoyable, peaceful two weeks we’ve ever had. The cottage was comfortable and clean, the location perfect (30 steps away from the ocean), and the pace slow. The people of Edisto are wonderful, including the hosts Steve and Betty Llew. If we didn’t already have plans for next winter to visit my elderly parents, we would come back next for much longer. But there’s always 2025!

We love Edisto and especially this perfect cottage right on the beach. Our most favorite part is the screened-in porch where we can hear the surf and watch those amazing sunrises. We have been coming here for years and will continue.

We loved the screened in porch facing the ocean as well as the deck on the front on the house facing the street. The round table on the porch was used for dining outdoors. Lots of hooks on porch to hang wet beach towels and swimsuits. A plus was the outdoor shower by the back steps with hot and cold water. Kitchen had a good selection of pots and pans as well as baking dishes.

The homeowners were very welcoming. The home had everything we needed and we immensely enjoyed sitting and rocking on the screened in porch and the closeness to the beach and ocean.

My family and I just got back from staying at this property. To say the trip started off bad is an understatement. The entire island was without power for 10 hours our second afternoon and the entire night. Having a 9 month old this was really tough as you can imagine!
The way I am I’m not going to complain and bother the owners about something out of their control. I will say something though about issues that are controllable..such as the house is super dated from all the appliances barely working to a fridge that’s in need of some maintenance and a deep clean. I could smell a nasty undertone all week from the fridge and everything we put in it smelled and tasted gross. The pre-cleaning was below sub par. The house felt dirty and the countertops had to be wiped down just to put our stuff on them initially walking in the home..same throughout the house in all the other rooms. The main bathroom has a big crack in the base the part you stand on..which actually gives when you take a shower so you feel like your going to fall through the home while trying to bathe..The owners tried to blame us for cracking the spigot where the water comes out and sending us a picture like we did it. The shower is a hot mess and was upon arrival! Upon leaving we stripped our beds and I removed the mattress pad on my bed to notice a big stain. I double checked the mattress cover just to make sure by chance nothing spilled by accident and the mattress pad was stain free. Apparently whoever cleans the home never washes the mattress pad bc we are being blamed for the “stain” as well. This home is just not worth the value it’s being rented for unless they are prepared to make some serious updates. The living room furniture is all outdoor furniture which was super uncomfortable. I was told there was 3 tvs bc I asked since I have kids. We ended up bringing one from our house as well to be on the safe side…well there was only 2 tvs (living room and one tiny/terrible one in a bedroom) thank goodness I brought a back up even though we accidentally left it there..
The day before our checkout I get a text from the owner telling me he was told we had more than six people and we had dogs. I was like are you serious with this!?! I had family and friends renting homes near us as well so we had people coming and going as most do on family vacations so this was a turn off and super invasive. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere!!

It is a relatively small cottage. The beds fill most of the space in the bedrooms. But it is right on the beach with a wonderful view from the porch, the weather was wonderful, and it was an easy walk (or an easier bike ride) to “downtown.” About an hour drive to Charleston. The local state park has wonderful short hikes. Several local restaurants were great (eg Flowers Seafood, Tortuga’s). We will be back!

I returned to this property for the second consecutive year, but brought some friends for a girls-only week this time! This perfect beach house was just as wonderful as I'd remembered it from last year. Sitting right on the ocean, the waves can be heard at all times, the sunrise can be viewed by sitting on the porch, and you can even see dolphins playing not far off the beach.
We had plenty of bed and bath linens, and it was so nice to have the washer and dryer so we didn't have to pack too many clothes. We cooked many of our meals while there, and we had all the pots/pans/utensils/dinnerware that we needed. Do bring along, or plan to buy at the local Food Lion, pretty much ALL of your paper supplies. We had to buy t.p., paper towels, kitchen trash bags, hand soap, and dish soap because there was not enough there for the three of us for the week. The water filtration system (and ice maker!) is amazing...no need to buy bottled water, and we never ran out of hot water in the shower. The only issue we had was that the t.v. remote was nowhere to be found, so we couldn't use any of the Smart TV capabilites, nor watch any of the DVDs we brought (couldn't change the input on the t.v. to recognize the DVD player). The owner said they were going to be replacing that, though, when we contacted her about it. No matter....there were LOTS of other fun things to pass the time while we vacationed in this wonderful island property. Hope to be back again next year!

Some people might think it's crazy to go to the beach in January. However, when you stay in a cute bungalow with the best screened porch ever, it is absolutely awesome! The house is small but really cute, and the screened porch is the place to be.....drinking coffee, watching the sun rise, working on a jigsaw puzzle on the porch table, watching the tide come in and out - rain or shine, rocking in the most comfortable rockers made the week sail by. Thank you for being dog friendly - my two Basset Hounds had fun as well. I'll definitely be back - Bonnie

My husband and I were looking for some post holiday down time. This cottage hit the spot. It is ON the beach. The view from screened porch is sea oats, dune, beach. The house is as advertised, it is not “fancy” but cozy and comfortable. The photos are accurate. House is spotlessly clean. Kitchen is well stocked. We spent the majority of our time on the porch, sunrise, sunset, tide in, tide out, watching beach critters and walking on the beach…. Thank you for sharing this beautiful place.

The person in charge was very helpful. An electrical issue (receptacle) related to the TV when we got there. I called for help and she responded immediately. Fortunately I was able to find the problem.
As in many places the cleaning isn’t always what you think it should be but not bad.

I came alone for some peace and quiet in the middle of December. This place is just perfect. They allowed me to bring my cats, which many places won’t do, and were always kind during communication. The ocean is so close I didn’t even need my beach chair, and the beach was very quiet this time of year. It was a great experience and I hope to do it again.

In 40 years of rentals at Edisto Beach, our favorite destination from our WNC mountains, Sanders’ Oceanside Cottage was far and away the best. There aren’t enough superlatives to describe it. We three couples and a dog enjoyed friendly accommodations for both our collective & individual pursuits. The three bedrooms & bathroom are on one side like a bungalow, with living/family room, cozy kitchen, and dining nook with a roomy table on the other. … The kitchen appliances—range/oven, microwave, plus washer & dryer—are new (and nicer than our own back home!) No dishwasher but there’s a roomy sink, good counter lighting, and we enjoyed doing dishes as a group enterprise. Note: We cooked in for all but our last night (a happy splurge at the Old Post Office!), so we used all the cottage’s (excellent) pots, pans, dishes, utensils & accoutrements (nicer than any other beach house), so made great use of the space. The Sanderses had rearranged the furnishings to accommodate our group, so hanging out & talking were much more fun. After dinner, a few of us remained to watch movies on the flat-screen TV while the rest returned to the dining nook to play cards or just watch the moon from the porch. The bedrooms were quiet, not disturbed by the TV. Mostly we gravitated directly to the oceanfront screened porch & sounds of the surf mere feet away. … And that porch! Just beyond the dining nook, it features five rocking chairs we occupied all day long. At the far end is a round table & four chairs, quickly commandeered by two husbands with a bazillion-piece jigsaw puzzle. The view is bliss. Between beach runs, our dog rested to gaze out at sandpipers. That porch was the heart of our visit, its sights, sounds, & peace. … Sorry to go on so but it really was wonderful. A few house details before I close: couch & armchairs were clean & cozy, decor bright, tasteful, not overdone. Bedrooms had matching pillows & quilts; the spotless bathroom had full-size bathtub & adjustable shower head; half bath below the house is older but so clean & served us well. The linen service provided soft, clean sheets, extra blankets, and more bath towels than we could use. The housekeeper was fantastic, kindly accommodating one couple who arrived a bit early, & her cleaning showed skill & care. The departure checklist was easy but departing hard. We loved it. We’ll be back. Thanks for everything.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I'm going to give this place a 15. 🥰 This was our second stay at this lovely home, and I hope we can always go back. Miss Grace's communication about what to bring as well as check-in procedures made for a seamless arrival! The house is super clean and a perfect beachfront location. I think we spent 13 of our 14 days on the screen porch, reading, painting, drinking coffee and playing games while watching the surf roll in. The Sanders' family home is just a special place, and when you meet the family, you understand why. So thankful for our lovely hosts, this wonderful home, and two relaxing weeks appreciating the creativity of our great God. A piece of heaven on earth! ❤️

If you are looking for a place to relax on the beach, this is it. The beach is literally a few steps from the back, screened porch. We spent most of our time on that screened porch or on the beach. The house has three bedrooms and one full bath but there is a bath house under the house that has a shower, toilet, and sink, if you’d need a second bathroom. Great owner/host! We would definitely stay here again.

My partner and I were looking for a quiet beach to get away and just relax with our dog, take walks on the beach, and enjoy fresh seafood cooked at home. The Saunder's property provided just that. We took several drives to other beach towns close by and were gratified that Edisto does not have the same sort of congestion. It is truly an old-timey beach town, which was exactly what we were looking for. We especially enjoyed watching the sunrise each morning over the ocean, the full moon, and the turtle patrol checking for Loggerhead nests. The screened porch made all the difference by offering shade from the sun. Our host was very attentive and available to take care of any problems (we didn't have any!) We hope to visit again.

This cottage was perfect for the 6 of us! Every utensil/pot/dish we needed to use to cook was there. The house was very clean and the screened in porch was amazing. BEST ROCKING CHAIRS of any house we have rented!! The house is so close to the water. My mom could sit on the porch and carry on a conversation with those of us sitting on the beach. The owner was so easy to get in touch with and her son even showed up to jump off my mom's car when her battery died. Very nice people.
