The kitchen features new stainless steel appliances and opens to the dining/living area, where you can laugh about your day on the beach while the chef in your group prepares a Lowcountry feast. Just off of the kitchen is a private main suite, with two spacious guest rooms and a shared bathroom on the opposite side of the home. Internet access and cable-equipped flatscreen TVs will keep your group entertained if a brief afternoon shower interrupts your sunny day on the beach. Chill and grill as you enjoy the sweet evening breeze on the ground-level patio equipped with ample seating, a porch swing, and plenty of covered parking. Don't forget your fishing poles and crabbing nets to try your luck in the neighboring lagoons! Of course, you visit Edisto to hang out on the beach. From house to shore is a 300-yard walk of less than five minutes. Take a break from the daily grind, come on down, and get on island time. Things to Know There is a non-smoking home. This property is managed by Vacasa South Carolina, LLC. If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the nightly pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting "Yes" to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The nightly fee ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. We really enjoyed Herondipity. The home is a 5 minute walk to the beach, on a quiet shaded street, with a shaded screened-in porch. We only used the porch the last couple of days due to the low weather temperatures but I think the porch would be a huge plus in the summer heat. The house is not new and the salt air is tough on everything. But the house is comfortable and was a good space for me and husband and our daughter’s family with 3 small children and dad. They had the two bedrooms with a shared bath and could close off their entire area. We found the beds to be comfortable as well as the living furniture. The address of the house is Jungle road but the house sits back off of jungle road and faces a side street and we did not hear any road noise. There were some things in the house that could use updating like one of the bedroom area rugs and some of the pots and pans. For the most part the kitchen was well stocked. The house was clean such as counters, bathrooms and floors. But some of the kitchen cabinets were in disarray and needed a good organizing and clean out. I suspect that the house has been rented the last 6 to 9 months and just needs a good reset. My husband and I both did some work the first couple of days and had no problems with the wifi or internet using our corporate VPNs. All in all, this is a solid comfortable house that I would rent again.

Clean house. Spacious and beautiful. Plenty of space on upper and lower levels to spread out and enjoy no matter the weather. Loved the dock on property and the small park next door. Easy to fish from both, and nature watch. Short walk to the beach. This quiet neighborhood is a gem, everyone was super friendly. Only complaint is the dishwasher kept cutting off on its own before it finished, so we had to start all over again. And the outdoor shower, we could never get it to work. But great house! We would stay there many more times.

Herondipity was located about a block from the beach access. The home was quiet and offered lovely views of the small park next door. Bedrooms were well stocked with extra blankets and pillows; the kitchen also had plenty of dishes and silverware. We were, however disappointed that there were no beach towels or chairs -- forcing us to rent both at exorbitant prices. The house was surface clean but could really use a deep clean and a refresh -- just to get rid of wall scuffs and wobbly outdoor furniture legs.

This property is pet friendly, which we were looking for. So reviews said there was dog hair everywhere. We found this to be untrue. It’s furnished nicely. Great layout (guest rooms and bath have a separate door and hallway), which is great for families. We loved the screen porch and the dock over looking the pond, which they don’t really highlight. It’s a short golf cart ride to the beach access at the end of the street.

The home was a block away from the beach and nestled in the jungle. It was clean, airy, and bright. There were many sitting areas, inside and out. Loved the screened in area.

You do have to cross the main highway to get to the beach, but that's the case for all non-ocean-front properties on the island. Easy biking distance to restaurants.

Fantastic Stay
Our family visited for a long weekend and this home was absolutely amazing for our stay. Very clean, great personal touches and the property management was phenomenal. Very helpful with any questions regarding our stay. For many of us it was our first stay at Edisto Beach and we hope to stay at Herondipity again in the near future!

I've been to Edisto many times and stayed in many rental houses. Herondipity is one of the best experiences I've had in a rental home. The house is well laid out and accommodates a large family if needed. The master bedroom/bathroom are on one side of the house and the other bedrooms/bathroom are on the other side of the house with the kitchen/living area separating the two. There is a great porch on the house and the house is located on a large inland lagoon if you want to fish. It is an easy walk to the beach access from the house as well. The house is well furnished and the kitchen is very well stocked for your cooking needs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The one piece of feedback I have for the owners is that the grill downstairs needs to be replaced. The grill cover has burned through at the handle such that the handle is no longer attached. This made the grill not usable since the cover could not be used while cooking to shield the grill from the wind.
