Delightful little town house in a stunning location. Celia the host couldn’t have been more helpful. There’s an intoxicating charm about Old Antibes and this property is at the heart of it. It’s quirky, rustic, old and full of character.

It is difficult to find the words to do justice to our experience in Celia’s home in old Antibes. We left only this morning so I can blame jet lag. The home is every bit as authentic, refined, and exquisite as described and pictured. When you step over the threshold you step into another world, another time. Understated elegance. I covet the mirrors! Every last one. When you step outside and turn right, you find the best bread maker in Antibes within a two minute walk. Turn left and you have the Mediterranean to your right, the Picasso museum and the cathedral straight ahead, and to the left, the heart of Antibes, the market. The steep steps do take some getting used to, but the reward! No, not the toned legs. The rooftop view! Enjoying a glass of rosé on the pretty terrasse with a clear view of the sea, with the golden glow of the setting sun warming the stone walls, seagulls swirling overhead - a peak experience.

We experienced the charme of an old town house; the interior decor is nice - to feel comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped and meets all your needs.

Celia’s property is full of character and perfectly situated in the Old Town. We met Celia at check-in and she explained that the house has been their holiday home since the 1970’s. The house is compact but comfortable and very well equipped. Close to the market, cafes and shops. Try Nomad’s for great coffee. There’s a sandy beach down near the marina (5 mins walk). We would definitely love to come back

We have spent an incredible week in Celia's charming house. Good comunication from the start, and perfekt check in. Excellent location, in a quiet liltle street, lovely decor, comfy beds, and fantastic roof terrace! Everything was great. We definitely come back.

We loved our stay in Antibes and fell in love with the town. My wife and our two small children enjoyed having Celia's home to use as our home base. Everything was exactly as we expected with two small exceptions. As Celia had warned us, the internet was not working and she provided a 4G hotspot. Unfortunately the service in the house is poor thanks to the stone construction, so the hotspot was not much help. Second, the bed on the second floor was uncomfortable to the point that my wife slept on the first floor with our kids. I understand bed preferences are quite personal, but my wife said she could feel the springs in the bed and woke the first morning with a very sore back. I personally was able to sleep on the bed, but it wasn't the most comfortable. Outside of those two complaints, the house was perfect. The city has even relocated the trash bins so we never heard early morning truck traffic as was described by other reviews. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Antibes is beautiful.
It has all the charm you would expect from a medieval town but with a vibrant restaurant culture and lively entertainment.
The house, is situated right at the heart of the old town with very quick and easy access to all the restaurants, beaches and the fabulous daily market.
If traveling by car, you'll have easy access to Nice and Cannes and the surounding beaches. But don't worry about parking, as the town has invested in a huge underground car park which is pristine and only five minutes from the property. If your staying longer than a week, it's best to pay upfront as there is a considerable discount for longer stays. it's well worth it.
Don't worry about air conditioning, it;s an old house with thick walls which keeps it cool during the heat of the day. The roof terace is very private, and has views to the bay and the Picasso Museum just 100m away.
You feel you are the heart of a vibrant comunity.
Booking was easy and the host is always quick to respond. There was a minor issue with a domestic appliance which was resolved within twelve hours, so you are well supported.
The property has a charm reminiscent of a byegone age which in some ways is quixotic, but which nevertheless adds to its overall attraction.
I would like to express my thanks to the hosts for their very kind hospitality.

Wonderful old property, superb location on a beautiful street just a few steps from the sea wall. We ate dinner every night on the roof terrace and got fitter from climbing up and down the four fights of stairs to the kitchen. We were very grateful for the fans in every room and lots of other extra useful things e.g parasol, beach towels, ice blocks, bat & ball etc. Having a lock box for key was very convenient and the host was helpful and flexible with check in.

The house is super cosy and the location is fantastic. The rooftop terrace is great for a glass of wine in the evening. The kids loved the little loft at the top floor. Everything was very nice and the house is well equipped.

The house is small and snozzy. It’s perfectly located in the old town, but very quite in a side street. The Terrasse was great, the house was old but very nice (as expected from an old town house ) Everything was as described, we enjoyed our 1week vacation a lot. The keeper was very pleasant and explained everything very well. All in all a great stay and vacation.

Wonderful homey place just off the Picasso museum square, ideally located to everything. Perfect for 2 couples or a family with a few kids. Really appreciated the abundance of towels, tea towels and even beach towels, beach umbrella and chairs- felt right at home. The roof top terrace is so wonderful to sit at the end of the day and have a drink and watch the boats go by- even some magical sunsets! Great water pressure in the showers and lots of hot water. Area felt completely safe and secure. Host very responsive and helpful-merci beaucoup!! xox

We had a nice stay in this house. We know Antibes well and it was our first time staying in a property with a roof terrace which is a real bonus. We ate all our meals on the terrace and enjoyed the afternoons up there particularly. There are lots of trays to get things up to the terrace and room to put things out when you get up there. After a bit of trial and error we mastered the convection oven and ate in a lot. The pans are good quality so you can cook a lot of things like Provençal stew and meat, sausages etc on the hob. The location as expected was perfect for us in terms of the market, supermarkets and beach. We found it quiet - we were always awake anyway when the bins were emptied which is early (before 6am) but I wouldn’t say it’s a big issue as it’s very quick. There are several houses in the courtyard behind but any noise calmed down by 10pm. We made use of the fans a lot of the time and this was the only downside to the house as we’ve always had AC in apartments when we’ve visited in August but we wanted to see how we got on and you can’t have it if you want a characterful property. You can get a good breeze through the house and manage it proactively but we did have some humid weather which led to a few sticky nights!. The house is characterful and it was nice to have plenty of room. We would stay there again .

We loving staying in this apartment - It was close to everything we wanted to see and do in Antibes. There was tons of excitement right outside our door, yet the place was quiet and safe. We are crazy about old buildings, and this one did not disappoint! I would suggest a decluttering and a deep clean… the space would definitely feel roomier and nicer.

Great Time in Antibes at our VRBO
Everything was as advertised. Place was spotless. Location was excellent. My third time in Antibes, and this is the first time that I will ensure my 4th trip we will be repeating our stay in this location. It was great, Celia was awesome to deal with, and everything was seamless. Thank's so much!

Lovely views and close to everything
We had an amazing time in Celia’s home. The house had an incredible rooftop terrace with sea views where we enjoyed wine and dinners many nights. It was also located close to many wonderful cafes and restaurants and an easy 15 min walk to the train station for adventures outside of Antibes. The kitchen had everything we needed and the laundry made it easy for us to pack light. Celia was very kind and easy to communicate with and we truly hope to be back someday. One hundred percent recommend!

Old Style Accommodation at its best
Great house to stay in. Rooftop terrace is the jewrl in the crown.42 steps to get to terrace but well worth it for the view and peace.
Perhaps a BBQ would be a bonus. Very comfotable beds in house. Celia is a joy to deal with so helpful and always replies.
if you are over six foot tall just a little care required in the kitchen area which has a low ceiling.
Only other draw back and its no fault of Celia's place is that the rubbish is collected at 6am most mornings from a central area about 100meters away from house but this is the case in most parts of Antibes .
They say you need 3 things when staying in a property and they are location, location and location. So look no further

Perfect and quant but…..
….difficult to walk up and down the many stairs since they’re narrow but high. We became less willing to climb up to the 4th floor roof terrace after a few days. Also some body was renovating a house near by. A lot of noice starting at 7 in the morning so no sleeping past that. The area is wonderful and close to everything. We loved Antibes and the house was a true old Antibes experience.

Empfehlenswert!

Lovely house but not all as described
The house is lovely and nicely done with lots of original features from wooden beams to floor tiles and it is furnished with some antique furniture. We enjoyed the roof terrace despite the 42 steps from ground floor to get there. But I was disappointed in the cooking facilities - there is only a microwave with integrated convector oven which is not easy to cook in - disappointing when you like to bake local fish, etc and this not made clear in the house description. Some of the crockery and glassware is chipped and needs a good sort out. The house info wasn't entirely satisfactory with the manuals in different places in the house (microwave on drawer on top floor). I was expecting more info about the local area - what open on Sunday (including the days of the market) important when you are arriving after closing on Saturday and I know many food shops closed on Sunday. No local maps or info. Not really up to scratch for a house that wasn't cheap to rent. And the tv wasn't working (not that we wanted it but it should have been as mentioned in house facilities).

Wonderful house in the vieille ville of Antibes
It's difficult to add anything to either Celia's description or that of the other guests. The house in the old, medieval village of Antibes is just as charming as it appears in the photos. It is well and generously appointed with a location that is just perfect. Antibes dating back some 2,500 years, created by the Greeks and developed by the Romans, is a town rich in history with a contemporary lifestyle that offers a wealth of activities for today's visitors. Everything is within walking distance of the property but if you wish to go further afield the local Envibus network (Valbonne, Cap d'Antibes, Biot, Cagnes, Juan les Pins e.g.) is cheap and good. The train trip along the coast to Monte Carlo affords some magnificent scenery. The 250 Express Bus from the Pole d'Echanges, Antibes, to Nice airport is comfortable and good value at 11 euros, one-way. In fact, the whole area is well serviced by public transport. A car is not necessary. We especially loved our walks out to the Cap d'Antibes, beaches such as Plage de la Garoupe and the local restaurants and wine shops.
A combination of comfortable beds, old stone walls, heavy wooden shutters and sea air always ensured a great night's sleep. We had a wonderful holiday to reminisce about for years to come due in no small part to this charming house. Unfortunately, I did miss the TV being out of action during our visit.

Wohnanlage super...

Very nice property in the heart of Old Antibes
We enjoyed an early September week in Antibes in this property. Ideal location at the heart of Old Antibes, with its daily market, strolling its medieval sized streets, with large variety of shops, cafés, and restaurants. Easy walk to beaches, either small Gravette or much larger L'Ilette. 15 minute walk to train station for day trips to nearby Nice or Canne. The property itself was as described, cozy, but with enough room for the 4 of us, plus an outdoor sitting area on the top floor, with views on the sea. As there is no AC, the top two floors can get warm during the day, but as we spent our days out, not a problem. Owner was a pleasure to work with, very responsive and helpful. Recommended

Old town charm
18 Rue du Bateau is the perfect address for a relaxed stay in the most characterful part of Antibes with all the comforts of home. A delightful house with an air of antiquity but with all the modern conveniences you need and a lovely view from the roof terrace - the sunrises are magical!

Toprating!
