This was our first VRBO experience, and we were pleased with every aspect of our stay. Compared to hotels, this was beautiful, spacious, comfortable, safe, and relaxing. We appreciated the original art work, the tropical gardens, and the comforts of home. Our small, older dog was happier than he has ever been on a trip. The location is ideal, as the property is set between Capitola and Santa Cruz, just under half a mile from the beach. Thank you to Sara, our host, who went above and beyond to accommodate parking for my son's SUV and trailer. Wonderful memories: kayaking in Santa Cruz, an elegant, delicious meal at Shadowbrook, and relaxing in the hot tub. Everything went smoothly, and we felt at home. We loved our first VRBO stay! We came here to spend time with our brand new granddaughter and her parents. They live a half a mile away, and we could not have picked a more perfect place to stay. Sara’s magnolia cottage is peaceful, perfectly laid out and lovingly cared for. The gardens are spectacular and soothing. The hot tub was the perfect way to book end our day. I love, love the kitchen and all the equipment. We had everything we needed ( and more). Sara was immediately responsive to any questions or needs. We don’t have any pets, and this is a pet friendly place. The place was impeccably clean, and there was no evidence of any pet dander. This is the best place we have ever stayed. I highly recommend it . It’s also the perfect location with the beach and East Cliff just down the road: not to mention verve coffee, Pizza and a brewery within walking distance. I’m hoping that this will be our go to place on regular visits to Capitola /Santa Cruz. Truly wonderful and we are so grateful.

The house is in a great location & we had a wonderful stay. Sara was great to work with and the house was the perfect size for our family of four.

This cottage was perfect for my husand and I, our teenage son and our dog, Blue. It was cozy and artistic. The king size bed in the main room was one of the most comfortable beds we have slept in while traveling. The hot tub was large, secluded and fit the whole family in. We loved the little garden area in the front. It was a great location, walking distance to coffee, restaurants and the ocean. And, Sara, the owner, was very accomdodating to all our needs. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We enjoyed our stay over Thanksgiving holiday. Great location, easy walking distance to stores, beach, Verve coffee. Sara was only a text away. Kitchen is set up with everything you could possibly need. love the vintage feel.

First of all... cold beer & wine waiting for us upon arrival! Awesome after a drive with dog & toddler! Stayed here with my husband and almost 3 year old and two doggos. Great location for food, coffee, brews, beach & shopping. You could stay here and not get back in your car all week! Loved the private garden out front. Having a kiddo, it was nice to have a TV with options. Beds were comfy, used the stand up shower, not the tub. Everything was very clean and we had every supply we needed! Great stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at Sara's property. The home and grounds were as advertised, well kept, and inviting. The garden in the front yard was nice and peaceful. The home is in a nice quiet neighborhood a few blocks from a cove with access to the ocean, and not far from the village. Sara was a pleasant host and was responsive through the VRBO app. The host lives in a unit in the back but it is separated from the rental and we had plenty of privacy. Would return.

This house was fantastic (and something you don't often hear...it was even better in person)!! Sara is such a kind, welcoming host, who left treats for the dog and people! (She also answered immediately when I had a quick question upon check-in.) The house is in a nice neighborhood--walkable to a large park, coffee shops, and tap house! We will definitely stay here again! Thank you, Sara!!

Sara is the consummate hostess. This is our second visit and she did not disappoint. Since it was the beginning of December the house was tastefully decorated with a few nods to the holidays. She even had the burning Yule log running on the TV as we entered. We immediately felt the coziness of the house and we were so welcomed by the many treats she left for us and the dog. The house is very clean, the bed and sheets comfy and living room couches and pillows so inviting for lazy reading time or watching TV. Again the location is perfect and within short walks to dining and craft beer quaffing. We will be back!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay and so did our dog. Sara knows how to make her guests feel welcomed, with a welcome note and treats for all. The house was more than enough room for us and I would recommend that it would also be great for two couples or for a family. One excellent feature is a door between the living room and the bedrooms in case some guests are nights owls and like to visit or watch TV late or if someone is using the living room as a sleeping area. The room with the king size bed also opens to the front yard which was convenient when our dog wanted to go out after bedtime. The location is perfect as there are many restaurants close by and you are within walking distance of Capitola ( the walk back is all up hill though) but really, nothing is very far when in Santa Cruz. We will definitely go back and we are planning our next visit already.

This is such a lovely property, nestled in a wonderful area of homes near the beach! The home is immaculate, the furnishings very tasteful & comfy (one of best beds ever can be found in the primary bedroom), and it is filled with amazing art, a lot done by Sara, the landlord. If you love to walk, shop, and/or eat, this has it all. Walk out the door one way & your minutes away from the Capitola Village; walk out the other way towards 41st & you find even better shopping & dining experiences. Plus there is a magnificent beach walk at the end of 41st. It is wonderfully quiet & peaceful with a beautiful garden. And Sara & her husband are fantastic hosts, ready to help make your stay even better. We so look forward to future stays.

The garden areas were private and pretty. The home was cozy and clean. We very much enjoyed our stay.

The property is absolutely jam packed with plants, with tons of flowers in bloom during our stay in mid-May. Sara is a superb host who communicates responsively and provided all sorts of treats and extras we did not expect. The kitchen is well stocked. The location is a nice walk from Capitola Village, near a park, a grocery store, and several restaurants. The neighborhood felt quiet, safe, and friendly.

Sara is great - helped us with the spa and very friendly. Very good location. Kitchen was very good too. Garden areas were lush. Great for a dog.

The 4 days Days we spent here were fantastic. Not only was the weather great but the house was everything that we wanted. And I really appreciate it how beautiful the flowers were in bloom and our communicative the host Sarah is. They do live in the cottage behind the house so if you're someone who wants to make a lot of noise I don't recommend this house. It was perfect for my family of four. We were able to bring our dog. He's really small so we felt comfortable keeping him in such a lovely home. I can tell you that the couches are the most comfortable couches I've ever experienced. This place is in Santa Cruz but you're walking distance from a lot of restaurants in Santa Cruz but you're also walking distance from restaurants and Capitola. We walked into Capitola daily. The walk back from Capitola is not for anyone who may have knee problems because it's a little steep but it's not unmanageable. And the view is stupendous.

Nice house in a wonderful location. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. I felt comfortable with their Covid cleaning protocols. Overall, an excellent getaway!

This is the second time we stayed at Sara’s house. Location is great. The bungalows two large bedrooms and two baths plus kitchen dining and living room you couldn’t ask for more. Everything is complementary beautifully to make you stay comfortable and enjoyable

My family enjoyed a nice weekend getaway. Sara was a wonderful host... responding to communication promptly, even during our stay. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and some tasty treats as well! She was very helpful and understanding when we had to change our dates due to the Santa Cruz fires. The house was clean, comfortable, and spacious for my family of 4.

It's address may be Santa Cruz but it really is on the border of Capitola. It's about 2 blocks to overlook the ocean from the cliff and a few more minutes and you can walk into Capitola, one of the most warm and friendly beach towns I've seen. Now bck to the bungalow. It was exactly as pictured on line which whould have been enough but then there were the special touches from the property owner/manager. The place is so much much larger than the ad can show. Two large beautiful bedrooms. Two lovely bathrooms, one has a jacuzzi tub and the other has a multihead shower. and the outdoor jacuzzi was lovely. The kithcen was full stocked with everything you need (not food). We walked into this beautiful bungalow and found a bouquet of flowers for us and a special desert in the freezer just for us. I had a few questions for the owner who answered promptly and offered more than we needed. The owners who live in the back home are a delight and they love dogs, so we were able to bring our dog with us for the first time on any vacation. In short this is a beautiful place to stay and the best example is that my blood presure was lower than it has been in months. We won't hesitate to visit Sara's cottage again next time we are int he area, hopefully soon, as the air was clear and the sky was blue. We wouldn't think of anywhere else. We felt more like relatives than guests of VBRO. All in all during these difficult times, Sara's home is a welcome mat to relaxation and comfort. Don't miss this gem if you are in the area.

Sara and her husband are the kindest people and provided us with the most wonderful experience renting a beautiful beach house with beautiful art work and a great kitchen to prepare meals in. Also, the beds, bedding and bedrooms were top notch.

Sarah was communicative and helpful. House is beautiful and modern with everything you need. Loved outdoors, hot tub, grill and comforts. Sarah went out of her way with extras - bday balloons fit my son, wine and drinks in the refrigerator and bowls and toys for our dog. Answered all texts immediately. Excellent host perfect home near beaches restaurants and bike rental. Top scores.

We had an absolutely perfect stay in Sara’s incredible home! The photos don’t do it justice - it’s a gorgeous, comfortable, wonderfully decorated space. The beds are comfortable and Sara went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. I can’t wait to stay here again!

Sara's 2bed/2bath home was a perfect oasis to start our Thanksgiving week at. Clean, comfortable (oh the beds!), with so many personal touches that made us feel right at home. And the location is wonderfully situation a half block away from 41st, so can easy walk to shops, eateries, coffee shops... as well as Pleasure Point and Capitola. As a host, Sara was super easy to communicate with & welcomed us warmly: a bottle of wine, a little puzzle for our kids, and even a toy for our pup. Check in/out couldn't have been easier. And while they live at the back of the property, they really designed the backyard and gates to provide privacy for all. We will definitely keep this lovely home in rotation for our future SC weekend getaways!

Communication with owner was excellent. She left gifts for our dogs and bottle of wine for my friends bday. Beds were so comfortable, I slept great. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms were perfect either for Two singles or two couples. The larger of the two yards is a shared entrance woth the owner so careful leaving dogs out there without supervision and the other areas are better suited for smaller dogs. Parking in driveway is great. Kitchen well equipped if you are cooking. Comfortable house would go back. We didn’t get a chance to use the hot tub but is a bonus!
