We were four friends traveling three weeks in Spain and Portugal. Check in was a breeze, Marc was there when we arrived. The photographs are good but in no way do the apartment justice. The views are amazing! This apartment is centrally located, well appointed and full of artistic touches. A bakery, gelato shop, Portuguese restaurant, supermarket and park are just steps away. It’s down hill all the way to the coast. You can walk back but a taxi ride is about seven euro and worth it. Staying here was a highlight of our trip.

We loved it! Our first visit to Lisbon and we enjoyed the authentic neighborhood and location for 4 days of walking, sailing and excursions outside the city. Marc’s apartment was his personal home which we respected. Our older kids had the rooms with the views as well. We enjoyed a night in and cooked in the well appointed kitchen. Cheers! We’ll be back!

Marc was a wonderful host, greeting us at the apt and showing us all the ins and outs. It’s very spacious and well-appointed, as well as located within walking distance of the central area. The only thing we misjudged from the photos was the size of the balcony, which is just a little larger than a Juliette…not nearly big enough to sit out on in the evening to enjoy a cigar and glass of wine. We did, however, open the French doors, pull up the chairs, and enjoy the lovely wine and cheese plate Marc and Maria provided as a warm welcome. Tasty! The beds were very comfortable, showers hot with great pressure, and pretty much everything we needed was provided. It is fairly common in Europe to not provide wash cloths or separate hair conditioner, so we have learned to bring them with us. This was our first visit to Lisbon (which we thoroughly enjoyed!), and Marc’s hospitality (including restaurant recommendations) made our trip all the more memorable. Highly recommend this home away from home!

Absolutely beautiful apartment with fantastic views from almost every window! While being a large apartment, it feels like home. The owner has many lovely photographs of the Lisbon area he took himself on the walls. The neighborhood has many restaurants and a grocery store very nearby. Many sights a 15-20 minute walk away. We used Bolt (like Uber) to get around town. Very easy and inexpensive as of April 2024. 4 old friends enjoyed their time here. We would highly recommend!

My family (wife, three adult sons) visited Lisbon for the first time during the week of December 25/January 1. The host is a phenomical gentleman who was very helpful and always available. The property is very clean, attractive, has a phenomical view, is tastefully decorated with antiques, and has all the amenities of home. In fact, it felt like home. The neighborhood was very safe and numerous attractions and restaurants were within one to two blocks. I highly recommend the property and greatly appreciate the host's hospitality and generosity. The high ratings the property and host have received are deserved, and you will not be disappointed. I hope to return to beautiful Lisbon and the property.

We are five old friends who travel together each autumn. This year, we were so excited to visit Portugal, with Lisbon being the last stop on our two week trip. This apartment was absolutely perfect. It was spacious, warm and beautiful, very well appointed with spectacular views. Our hosts guided us to helpful neighbrhood ammenities (cafe, patisserie, grocerie store, local restaurants), which were all very close by. It was just a wonderful stay and we do hope to someday return to further explore this enchanting city.

Had a great experience surrounded by the art of Lisbon area. We were able to immerse ourselves in the local atmosphere and feel like we experienced an authentic glimpse into the culture and food. The place was spacious and well cared for providing us with most everything necessary to make our stay both comfortable and enjoyable. We would highly recommend this stay and would not hesitate to return again or send our friends.

Check in process was very informative. Great host! Great views of the city. The apartment has been renovated fairly recently, it seemed. The renovations were well executed using great quality materials. stylish!

Our party of four adults spent four nights at Maria's artfully decorated 3 bedroom, two-bathroom Lisbon apartment. The ideally located apartment is a short downhill walk to Avenida da Liberdade shopping and other Lisbon sights. We were four ladies in our 60's visiting Lisbon for the first time. The location of the apartment is very good and the apartment has a lot of charm. The living room, dining area and kitchen are very spacious and comfortable. The master bedroom and bathroom en-suite are very comfortable for a couple. The second bedroom is best suited for children/teenagers. The second bathroom has a very small shower. Overall we had a most enjoyable stay.

From our first contact, owner Maria's communication was exceptional. Always prompt and responsive to our questions. The description and photos on listing are 100% accurate. Apartment is beautiful with out of this world views of Tagus River and city. French door to small terrace is where you want to be each evening to enjoy some wine and take in the views. Beds are very comfortable. Very nice neighborhood with convenience mentioned by other postings. Highly recommend local vibe and casual dinner at La Pibe Empanadas---a 7 minute walk away. Don't miss the gelato place around the corner and down the street! We like to walk and found the location fine for us but be aware you will climb pretty steep streets when returning from the Lisbon center. Marc was the perfect host in welcoming us and getting us settled. He was full of helpful information and greeted us warmly.

We loved our stay at this beautiful property with a spectacular view! I especially enjoyed the neighborhood ambience. I did not feel like a tourist. The neighborhood restaurants were very good and I liked being able to walk to them. The hill was not a problem for my husband and me. Check out the Elavador do Laura that is 5 minutes away. It makes getting back up easy.

Our family had already been in Portugal (Tavira and then Nazare) for 3 weeks, and this property was our last stay for the final leg of our month long trip. Maria kept in touch with us as the date and time of our arrival approached and informed us ahead of time that Marc would meet us at the property. This apartment was exceptional! It was clean, furnished, everything worked (including the lift), beautifully decorated and in a great area. This apartment is very well maintained. The photos on vrbo.com are nice, but can not convey the "soul" or feeling this apartment has. The views were excellent as well. It is also adjacent to a park-which was a bonus. Marc explained how to use all the amenities and gave suggestions for great restaurants in the area. We took Marc's suggestions, ate at a couple of the restaurants-which were great. Also, on a separate note, Marc suggested a tuk-tuk driver by the name of Maria. Maria was wonderful. She gave us a couple of great tours of Lisbon and shared a wealth of history about many areas that we saw. Maria was exceptional, and without going into details, she helped us get the last document needed for a project that our family had been working on for the past year. We cannot thank her enough...and thank you to Marc for suggesting her as a tuk-tuk option to see the city. Also, enjoyed seeing Marc's wonderful photography in the apartment and books!

This apartment was immaculate and gorgeous. Between the location, the views, the art and the amazing hosts, nothing could have been better. I wouldn’t change a thing. I can’t wait to go back to Lisbon and stay here again. The hosts gave us so much information about the area and restaurants and recommendations of things to do, it made the experience 100 out of 10 stars.

This flat is amazing. It looks exactly like the pictures. The rooms are comfortable and the views are breathtaking. The owners are fantastic too.

We could not have chosen a better place to stay! Best view of Lisbon especially from the balcony. We will miss our favorite coffee/breakfast shop, mini market and restaurant right across the street! The property was exactly as shown. It was in a quiet family friendly neighborhood with 2 parks directly across the street. The views from the balcony day and night were incredible. Walk out your door to several great restaurants, cafes, and an amazing Gelato shop just steps away. You are far enough away from the main tourist area to have peace and quiet but just minutes away from a nice walk down to Rossio square. Marc and Maria were excellent hosts, always responsive and checked in with us to make sure we had a great trip. Would stay here again next time we visit Lisbon.

We went to Lisbon to visit our daughter who is studying there this semester and stayed in this beautiful apartment and the whole experience was wonderful. The view is amazing, the location perfect for traveling around Lisbon, and the apartment is beautiful and fascinating as it is furnished with wonderful photos, art, and artifacts. But more than that, the hosts were incredibly helpful, accommodating and communicative, and even connected us with a fabulous tour guide who arranged a number of terrific trips, and outings for our family. It was a memorable trip and our experience here made it all the more so. We hope to visit and stay again.

We have stayed in several VRBO in Europe and this was one of the best. The apartment itself was clean, well appointed and gracious. It had expansive views of the river, the Castle, and far far more. It was located in a awesome neighborhood with parks, bakeries, and restaurants. While up on the hill, we still found ourselves walking to most places in the city, even though it requires a good uphill climb. Yet, if tired, buses and Ubers are readily available. It was pretty much a 15 minute walk to most major attractions and more touristy places. The three bedrooms suited our family well. Ample kitchen, laundry, you name it - it was there. Hosts were communicative, helpful and talented (Marc's photography is amazing). If we return to Lisbon, we would return to this apartment!

Our family enjoyed our stay in this beautiful apartment. Our hosts were wonderful with restaurant recommendations (ze da mouraria 3 across the street is delicious!). Convenient grocery store. Beautiful view - easy walk down the hills to many sites; though definitely take the recommendation of our hosts to Uber back up the hill! Apartment has a beautiful view, many many books, gorgeous art, access to Netflix is easy - wifi works well. Highly recommend!

The apartment is elegantly aged and very very comfortable. Communications with and recommendations from the owners were both top drawer. The photos are nice, the apartment nicer.

We loved staying at this lovely property. Maria was wonderful, check in was easy and if we had any questions they were immediately answered. We had a fairly rainy week so this was a great place to stay. You could open the windows and feel as if you were sitting outside. Wonderful area with a lovely park adjacent to the property, bakeries, restaurants, and a grocery store on the same block. Would happily stay here again on a subsequent trip!
