Gehorig aan straatzijde, maar dit hebben we op andere plaatsen ook ervaren.
Verlichting was minnetjes… wel genoeg lampen, maar slecht leeslicht, ook het toilet verlichting aan de minne kant

Vertrouwde plek. Ik was hier eerder al eens en ik voel me thuis bij Mr. Lewis
Geen bureautje. Ik moest werken. Dat heb ik nu in de vensterbank gedaan. Ik had van mijn eerdere bezoek anderhalf jaar geleden kunnen weten dat er geen bureautje zou zijn

Instructions re the property were good and timely. Beds were clean. Location was great for what we needed.
Be aware very steep steps to the room on the second floor. Lights were low wattage in the room. Dusty in the room and hangers on the open storage. Fridge wasn’t working but we didn’t need it. I would have been annoyed if we did. There were trailing electrics on extension leads. Beds were singles pushed together with thin mattresses. They slid about on the divan bases. Said toiletries were supplied…it was a used bottle with shampoo on it and mucky fingerprints on. Luckily we brought soap etc. the premises was a door accessed by a mobile app method which led to stairs with 2 rooms then stairs again and 2 rooms. There was a cupboard with extra bedding and towels but also in with the cleaning materials and cleaning cloths. We were sent instructions to check out 24 hours earlier by mistake which caused anxiety as access is by opening the doors by the app. I contacted the owner, no apology. The description of the property needs amending re distances etc. It was okay but disappointed.

Nice apartment very conveniently situated in the middle of Overveen, which is a lovely little town near the beach with great public transport connections to Haarlem and Amsterdam. Big comfortable bed, modern bathroom, little balcony where you can sit. The apartment is above a friendly and good quality pizza restaurant so there is a little bit of kitchen noise early in the evenings but they close early.

Well appointed apartment in a good and quite location.
No air conditioning, very steep stairs with blown lights, and not well cleaned as it was dusty and there were toothpaste stains on the bathroom bench.

Checkin process is quick and easy, even without the property being manned. It is close to a nice restaurant for dinner, a park for a nice walk and there is a nice place for breakfast and coffee around the corner.

Overveen is a small picturesque Dutch village in between the North Sea and Haarlem, a must see town just outside Amsterdam. it is a train ride away from gorgeous seaside sunsets and farmers markets and the true life Holland cultural Mecca.
this is a vacation rental, a VRBO, not a hotel. No reception, no maid service, no staff on premises. There are four rooms but no one to secure the rentals or give friendly advice about the area. the “manager” inundated me with nasty emails but never bothered to even say hello in person. I have no idea if Sam is a man or a woman, but they were jerk. My room was double booked and I had to tell the woman who came after me that the room was my rental. No coffee or clean towels after the first day. Ladders to the attic blocked access to my room. Sam canceled my 3 day booking but notified by email I read the last day. Hostile but I never had to meet staff. front desk was a hall closet, literally. Booking. com did not help at all with this VRBO but spouted plenty of kind platitudes. The rates are comparable to Amsterdam hotels.

Location is great
Was wondering why a 220€ a night room would have single glass windows. You could hear everything from the street which the room was located on. Crows, cars, etc. Also there was no shampoo or soap. Needs an upgrade besides a purely physical artificial one.

Quiet, spacious room, with a beautiful balcony, with a set of everything necessary for a young couple to relax without children for 3-5 nights.
First of all, it is accessibility to the room through a very steep staircase. The room itself is poorly lit, when we returned to the room in the evening it was not easy to fold clothes in the dark. The room was not cleaned, but a staff member came and brought us an electric kettle and fixed the faulty skylight, which was done fairly quickly.

it is a shame that they are saying they have free parking, it is just a trick.The free parking is actually a P&R far away from the property.I usually filter hotels by free parking so I don’t have to walk long distances…

The surrounding was very nice! Park just outside the window and 350m to train station helps a lot. There was also no problem with opening the door done I installed the app in advance. Nice solution. Coffee machine available with capsules :)
The paint peeling off the ceiling. No bathroom doors even though it was sold as room with two separate beds (well if you book 2 separate beds you might not know each other well enough to see the other naked...). No table so nowhere to stand a coffee or some food on...

Close to the University.
I became trapped in the hotel for 90 minutes when the main door failed. There were no alternative escape route except through the windows on the 3 floor. The rooms did not have fire detectors. When raising the issue of a potential dangerous situation being unable to evacuate the hotel during a fire the owener/ administrator suggested to call him to open the main door electronically.

the front door does not close on its own so security is compromised. it would be good to fix that. my shower outlet is blocking up so the room will flood soon unless it’s cleared. otherwise really good

Great place to stay for short holiday. Easy for day trips to Haarlem and Amsterdam on the train from Overveen. Klein Centraal Restaurant at Overveen train station on the way back from day trip was special (www.klein-centraal.nl). Always full so need to book a table....
Stairs up to the room are very steep so not suitable for people with disabilities or very heavy suitcases.

Good location next to Overveen village and train station. Beds were comfortable also .
The property was not clean when we entered. Dust thick on everything . We had to wipe the dust off the coffee machine before using it .
Radiators kept turning off , the room was freezing as it was snowing and even when they were on they weren’t warm enough .
No blind in bathroom and people could look right in when using the toilet .
Outdoor Terrace is really a joke , no money put into this at all . We paid extra for a dirty unkept “outdoor terrace “. No outdoor chairs to sit on only a filthy table .
Of says soaps etc included but they were empty .
Stairs /entrance leading up to property really grubby and dirty .
This property is advertised as being beside the seaside for some reason when it’s clearly not , it’s 7 away to the closet beach .
Really disappointed with this property. Do not recommend. It has potential to be really nice but no effort put in.

Location was ideal - the ride to the beach was beautiful! Pizza from Nolita downstairs was excellent, and even with curfew, we had a wonderful night. When restaurants reopen, the proximity is ideal. Wonderfully comfortable beds, INCREDIBLE shower and lovely decor. Will definitely return!
A tiny suggestion: One more coffee cup is needed - 2 espresso and 1 coffee cup were there. iPad for TV during lockdown is not really practical. For the colder months, a blanket or 2 would be great so guests can sit on the terrace at sunset.

This is my second stay at Mr. Lewis and we were a group of 4 so we booked two rooms. Good location within 5 minutes' walk from Overveen Station. This is also quite a quaint little town. Great shower in the morning with nice toiletries.
We had Rooms 3 and 4, but somehow we could not get the heating to warm up in Room 3, so we snuggled up in Room 4. The bed was very comfortable though.

The room was perfect, Overveen was such a nice place.
We rented bikes at the hotel. Unfortunately I couldn't used mine because it was to high and couldn't climb on it.
It could be great to have in some place in the hotel some tools to fix this kind of problem. In the end I paid 18€ for bikes we couldn't use.
