We had a wonderful stay in this unit. The views are amazing and the resort amenities were great. We loved watching the whales from the porch and each sunset was more beautiful than the last. Property is well-equipped (thank you for the beach chairs!) and very comfortable.

From the moment we opened the door to the time when we had to remove our wristbands, it was a magical vacation. The unit was the best from coffee on our lanai to pictures of amazing sunsets, it was so great. We hope to come back and will be staying in this great unit:)

The property was beautiful and comfortable and had everything we needed. We had a 10 night stay and it was disappointing to have to pay for a towel refresh. I would think that new towels should have been provided after a week or halfway through our stay. Also we couldn’t use the TV in the master bedroom. Neither remote worked so the only way to turn it on was to do it manually, but couldn’t change channels. The management company was very responsive and brought us a baby booster seat and had a pack n play ready for us in the unit. It was the best location with a beautiful view! I would stay here again!!

Our group of six adults could not have been happier with this property. It had all of the amenities promised and the view from the lanai along with its roominess were perfect. The kitchen was well stocked and we did cook a few meals in it. Large bedrooms and baths were perfect. The property was clean and there was more than enough to do while on site with all of the pools, hot tubs, Dukes and the beach. The only issue we had was there were not enough electronic keys for our whole group at check-in but that was taken care of pretty quickly. We would definitely stay here again.

My family of six adults (mom, dad, 2 adult children and spouses) had a wonderful six nights in this Maui condo. The furnishings and decor are on par with a luxury hotel. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would need. The ocean view is amazing. The entire process of booking, check-in and check-out couldn’t have been more easy. One of the toilets was inoperable the first night we were there (the engineering was in the room trying to fix it when we arrived), but was repaired promptly the next day. My entire family would highly recommend this condo, and if we go to Kaanapali again, we would love to stay there!

Fantastic experience. A few small blips but all handled quickly and efficiently. Maid tried to kick us out at 10 but 11am was check out. But she waited for 11. So lovely. I highly recommend.

Honua Kai is a lovely property with plenty of VRBO rentals available - DO NOT STAY AT THIS ONE. The property manager, Scott, and management company, Maui Life Realty, are horrible. Our flight was 3 hours delayed so we arrived at Honua Kai at 11pm local time. The front desk didn't have our keys and asked us to call the property manager. We called all THREE emergency contact numbers listed in the instruction email for check in assistance and no one answered or called us back. After roaming the property for an hour, we found a security guard who was able to locate the keys for us to finally get us into our room. There is no instruction booklet in the room with WIFI information (also not in the check-in email). So the next day I attempted to call someone at Maui Realty to get WIFI. I was on hold for 20 minutes and then sent to voicemail (again). At this point I found a different phone number in an email they had sent that I called. This person, Steve, immediately called me back. He is the previous owner of the unit and his number was left in the email by mistake. Steve told me that he knows Scott and is not surprised that we have had a such a terrible experience thus far. He promised to get me the WIFI information. At this point Scott Jordan sent me an email (no phone call) with the WIFI info saying the welcome booklet has gone missing. He also claimed that he didn't have any missed calls from me the night before so I sent him a screen shot of the 3 numbers I tried. I told him we were really disappointed in our stay (check-in, black hairs on the linens) and he did nothing. Not even a phone call. At the end of our stay, the previous owner Steve actually called me to apologize for how badly things were managed. I told him I would like to talk to Scott about our experience and Scott has still not returned my call.
I am also an owner and property manager of a vacation rental. I understand that things don't always go smooth and guests can be unhappy, but I respond to my guests immediately. I am always thorough and generous with my solutions to their problems. For the amount of money per night this condo charges, this should be the minimum expectation from their guests.

Our 3-bedroom VRBO condo, 929 Konea, in Honua Kai Resort & Spa, was perfect. The owners provided virtually everything we could have asked for to make for a perfect stay. Our unit, on the 9th floor, looked straight out over the resort grounds and our view continued to the beach and ocean. Each of the three bedrooms had that view, and the master bedroom opened onto the very spacious lanai. The lanai was also accessible from the living room of the condo. We enjoyed breakfast on the lanai every day before moving on to nearby snorkeling, land excursions, and more. We'll be back, and will certainly consider Honua Kai Resort & Spa in our planning.Things to consider as you plan: (1) Shop for groceries near the airport when you arrive--Costco, Whole Foods--as there is less availability closer to the resort. (2) The Snorkel Store rents state-of-the-art equipment for 10-day periods. We got our money's worth and more. (3) Road to Hana is an all-day commitment. Plan ahead so you're not driving back to the resort on the curving one-lane roads in the dark. (4) Resort/condo check-out time is 11 am. Our flight to the mainland didn't leave until 9:30 pm. Plan accordingly. We asked the resort and the rental managers about day rooms and found none. We simply carried all our luggage with us on a last day of adventures, but you might want to book an extra night (and only use part of it) or explore other options. (5) We rented a hybrid car from a local agency--Bio-Beetle ECO Rental Cars--and not only reduced our carbon footprint, we go a better deal than through conventional car rental agencies that offered NO electric or hybrid vehicles.

Spectacular Condo
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Konea 929. The accommodations, amenities, and the view were all outstanding. We enjoyed family time lounging on the lanai, and were close to all the resort had to offer. The boardwalk/beachwalk was an extra hit for us. We highly recommend this condo and will look to stay here again if we return in the future.

A fabulous and memorable stay!
We absolutely loved our stay at Honua Kai Resort. Our condo was on the ninth floor. Each morning we would sit out on the lanai with our coffee and simply soak up the incredible view. We saw a ton of whales, which was an added bonus. The lanai was spacious enough for all six of us to sit out there together. We even enjoyed a couple of meals outside. The accommodations are perfect! Better than the photos suggest. Very clean and stylish. And furnished with everything we could want. The beds are extremely comfortable, so we all slept great. We hope to go back to Maui soon, and if we do, would definitely try to stay here again.

Paradise with a view
This condo was everything and more! Our whole group said “wow” when we first walked in and saw the view. High end amenities, spacious, perfect location. We were also checked on throughout our stay. Truly top notch from beginning to end. We already miss this place and watching the whales. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Wonderful find!
We have stayed at a neighboring property for years and decided to make a switch this year to this property. We could not have been more pleased with the unit, communication and overall experience. Such a breathtaking view and completely stocked unit. We will definitely be back.

A FABULOUS EXPERIENCE!!
My wife and I are world travelers and frequently use VRBO/HOME AWAY. That being said......this was our very best experience so far! We loved everything about this unit! The view was phenomenal! The furnishings, amenities, facilities, and communication with management were “top notch”! We wanted for nothing! It is the perfect arrangement(3 king bedrooms) for 3 couples, which we were. We experienced a minor glitch with parking which was handled immediately! Kudos to the management team for being thorough from the beginning of the process to the end! That being said, we look forward to returning to this wonderful condo again and again!!

Retirement Starts
Suite 929 Konea is better than the pictures!! We enjoyed 3 weeks of watching whales from the lanai every morning, relaxing on the beach or by the pools. Condo has great views and every amenity you need. Barry was very accommodating and easy to work with, great information before arrival and helpful during our stay. Dukes restaurant good food and service, located on Honua Kai property. Dukes gets busy at night suggest making reservations. I enjoyed watching whales every morning, binoculars will enhance experience, you can see lots of whales with naked eye.

Handicap review
There were six adults and two children in our visit. Seven of the people would give this a five star rating. The condo was great as far as location and beach view! I am handicapped and would give this a four star rating. I want to give more details because I wanted that information when I booked. I rented a handicap van from Wheelchair Getaways and used the valet service at the resort. I also rented a manual transport chair and a shower chair from Maui vacation Equipment. They coordinated with Barry and had the items in the condo when I arrived. The lanai has a threshold of approximately 1 1/2 inches, which meant I could not go out on my scooter. We got around this by sliding a chair from the lanai next to me and I transferred to it, then someone would push me around. The bathroom was the main issue. There was absolutely nothing to hang onto around the toilet or in the shower. I would park my scooter next to the toilet and could hang on that, but had to have help getting in and out of the shower. So much for personal privacy! The grounds were great to get around. I thoroughly enjoyed sitting In the shade, ordering from Duke’s and just checking out the beautiful scenery.The boardwalk is totally accessible, but there are steps to the actual beach area. Overall, it was a fantastic trip and I would definitely rent this property again.

Beautiful property with stunning views!
An absolutely wonderful experience! Renting was a breeze and property owner/manager was very communicative and informative. Views are spectacular. Our adult kids jaws hit the floor when we walked into the condo! They were oohing and aahing at both the view and the condo itself. They voted unanimously that it was the nicest place we ever stayed! We will definitely rent this unit again when we return for another vacay!

Best vacation ever
The condo was beautiful! It was all so clean & how wonderful for everyone to have their own bedroom & bathroom.
It’s a perfect location. Close to the best restaurants & shopping. (Mama’s Fish house is a little further but definitely worth the drive.) Beautiful pools for children & adults. The grounds are spectacular. The view from the condo is breathtaking. All furnishings are high quality & look new. Pictures cannot show how great this condo is. We will definitely return.

Absolutely Amazing Property
The Honua Kai Resort was amazing. Unit 929 was awesome too. The unit was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked. I would say the best of any home we have rented. Everyone we had contact with was courteous and helpful. The realty company was very organized and made sure we knew exactly what to expect they even included videos and directions. I would highly recommend this property and the realty company that manages it.

From LAX; To "OMG"
This place beat my expectations.
From the moment we opened the door and saw that ocean view I realized I did the right thing in booking this place. It really worth everything you can imagine. The localization is great, the pool and amenities are fantastic, the front beach is amazing and the sunset is gorgeous.
The check in process is supper easy and fast, 1 day before I received a welcome video explaining everything, on the arrival day you just need to mention your name and the receptionist takes care of everything.
Inside the apartment there is a guide book with all the rules, dos/donts, restaurants, places to go, explanation about how to use the appliances, how to connect on internet, where to take your trash... everything you need to know to feel home.
The view is amazing, all the rooms, living room, kitchen have ocean view. Rooms are large and beds are comfortable. Everything clean and new.
There are beach chairs, kids toys for playing at the beach, boards for surfing, snorkeling goggles...
There is a barbecue area, and on the apartment there are the barbecue utensils, there are many different sizes of pool, for swimming or relax, water slide, waterfall on the pool, lazy river, hot tubs, beach/pool towels.
My family and I loved the place, we have had wonderful moments there like cooking together seeing the ocean, drinking wine, playing games, definitely we intend to go back.
Besides that we had all the attention from the property manager, that called us and emailed us to confirm everything was ok and nothing was missing.
The check out process is also very simple, but painful because you know you are leaving the paradise.

Loved this beautiful condo, very clean, beds very comfortable and the location is great. This was a wonderful vacation and 929 condo at Honua Kai made it awesome! Pools are fun and the view is incredible!

Beautifully appointed suite and great location
This place was amazing. It had all the amenities you would expect in your own home plus the enjoyment of a resort. I would definitely stay here again.
