This is a really special mountain home! We loved staying here and agree with all the previous reviews about top notch cleanliness. We hope to return.

To say that our stay in this gorgeous house was perfect would be an understatement. It’s difficult to envision a cabin that could be more perfectly suited to its surroundings. The house itself was lovely - from the architecture of the building itself, to the beautifully handmade furniture, to the hand crafted floor and table lamps, down to the coffee mugs - everything was thoughtfully presented and very comfortable. And the view defies description. This property was perfectly situated by itself, giving the utmost privacy in the middle of a beautiful forest, yet it was only ten minutes into town, with all that Asheville has to offer. And as much as we enjoyed the city and surrounding areas, it was always a highlight to come back to the house and that porch! We cannot recommend this house highly enough.

This is our 2nd trip to the mountain cabin, and it will not be our last. Everything is perfectly set for a relaxing, easy and comfortable stay. We absolutely love how private it is, and the views from each side of the house. Our favorite spot is the fantastic back porch overlooking the mountains. Patty is very responsive and helpful with anything we need. We've stayed in several different rentals around Asheville (and in other cities/states), and this is definitely our favorite.

There are a lot of properties in the Asheville area. The first one that popped up in my VRBO search was Patty and Brison's. I spent several more hours looking at other places to stay during our week-long visit but always came back to this handsome cabin in the woods. And my husband and I were not disappointed in our decision. We loved the cozy yet spacious cabin. From the spacious kitchen to the master bedroom, porch and everything in between -- this is truly a special place. One of our favorite spots was in the corner chair that looked directly out toward the Blue Ridge Mountains. What a view! We could have spent the entire week without leaving this pristine custom built cabin, we loved it that much. But we wanted to check out Asheville and surrounding area. The location is just super for that...maybe 15 minutes or so into Asheville. I could go on and on about Patty and Brison's place but just know if you're a you're wanting a beautiful, peaceful get-away, you'll love this bit of heaven in the wilderness. Enjoy!

Absolutely beautiful house and property. A perfect setting that you won't want to leave but if you have to it's only 10 min from dinner and activities in the city. Owners thought of everything and it's cleaner and better maintained that I keep my own home :). The surrounding trails were an unexpected highlight. You will love this place. We certainly hope to come back!

This is the perfect cabin. Every detail has been thought of, the views are amazing, it is far enough away but close enough to town that you have the best of all worlds. These are owners that are proud of what they built and they should be. Highly recommend this cabin.

We were pleasantly surprised by the spectacular views and all the nature surrounding the house. The house itself was beautiful, with stunning wood timber work that added a warm and rustic charm. The host was always available and very accommodating, ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The photos simply don't capture the full beauty and warmth of this home. Highly recommended – we know we'll be back!

We spent 4 nights at Patty and Brison’s beautiful home. The view, the private location, and style of the home did not disappoint. Weather was warm and sunny when we arrived. We gravitated to the porch! The view was enhanced by the VERY comfy swivel chairs. The lighting throughout the home was gorgeous and we enjoyed the antique pieces and sectional sofa immensely. It’s clear a lot of thought went into the creative planning of Couples Retreat. The rooms were larger than pictured with high ceilings throughout. On Sunday, it was cold and rainy, so we built a fire and stayed in all morning. Twice we dined out. Once to Twisted Laurel and once to Limones. Both restaurants had good service and delicious food. Patty was very responsive via text or email and we look forward to future stays.

Although the house itself is set in a remote spot, it is actually an easy drive just a few minutes from downtown. We enjoyed the city and then our own seclusion.

Beautiful mountain cabin. The incredible woodwork inside the cabin and exterior porch and patio fireplace were exceptional. We hated to leave the cabin, spent as much time there as possible.......so very relaxing. The Adjacent hiking trails were great.

The cabin is beautifully designed and furnished with open concept kitchen and great room, porch deck with grill and front porch with wood stove, all on the main level and master bedroom and bath below. It feels like home. The hiking trails and views on the property are beautiful. This is the best place we have found in the 10 years we’ve been vacationing in Asheville. Don’t miss their Sunset Deck trail.

The cabin is just as advertised, if not better. Views from inside and out are spectacular, and we especially enjoyed watching sunsets in front of the outdoor fireplace. The hosts are most accommodating, and nothing has been overlooked in furnishings. We also very much enjoyed the peace and privacy of this beautiful cabin.

Beautiful, relaxing, and rejuvenating!

We enjoyed the couples retreat and the peaceful solitude and view of the mountains. The outdoor space, especially the small outdoor fireplace on the front porch was magical at sunset. The back porch was roomy with comfortable seating and a nice grill. While there are beautiful hiking trails throughout the property, the access to flat walking area is steep and challenging for non hikers. The primary access road is winding and is dark at night. The secondary roads were in great shape but steep. The indoor space was roomy and well appointed featuring a beautiful timber frame structure. The mountain views flow directly into the spacious living, dining and kitchen areas. We had a cold windy, rainy day and burned a fire all day long. The draw was impressive and burned very clean. The kitchen was well equipped and easy to create our holiday meals. Stairs are required to access the full bath and sleeping area. This property would not be desirable if you have limited mobility. Patty was a great communicator including accommodating a change in our plans and arranging an early check in. We certainly plan to return.

Absolutely wonderful property - perfectly located. This home is stunningly beautiful and meticulous. Property owners were very attentive, there was nothing they didn't think of when preparing this cabin for guests. We had rain, we had snow, we hiked the wonderful trails and burned a lot of firewood. It was so refreshing and comfortable we skipped the Biltmore. We were talking about a return trip long before our stay ended. Our only regret was not booking for at least a week. Thank you for sharing this property.

Beautiful cabin in the mountains with a great view of the valley. Owners are very attentive and easy to communicate with. The amenities are great- even firewood. This was our 3rd or 4th stay and we will be back!

We loved the craftsmanship of this cabin and the furniture and the many special features. The views were incredible! We enjoyed hiking the trails right out our door (used the thoughtfully provided walking sticks), reading in the comfortable patio rockers, relaxing with a fire in the outdoor fireplace (plenty of dry wood) and cooking in the well-appointed kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed this property and look forward to another visit.

This property was better than expected. The home is immaculate and lived up to and beyond expectations. We only wished we could've stayed longer. We definitely hope to return!

Exactly as advertised. Be aware that the gravel driveway is very steep but you would expect that on a mountain. The views and amenities are top notch. It is the perfect place for a restful and relaxing stay.

Wonderful spot to watch the world go by while being 10 minutes from down town. So fun to be above the clouds.

Wonderful place! We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area. Everything was better than expected. The highlight of our trip was the momma bear and her 3 cubs playing in the tree right beside the porch. Can’t wait to visit again!

This place is amazing. On the one hand, you are in a very private retreat with beautiful mountain views and surrounded by flora and fauna, yet you are only ten minutes or so from downtown Ashville with all it has to offer. Great private hiking trails are available for hiking by day. At night cook in the well-equipped kitchen and watch TV or just sit by the fire and rest. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Our stay was fantastic! The cabin was beautiful and had a great view of the mountains! Communication with the owner was great! I would highly recommend this place!!!
