Gilberto couldn’t have been better. Always there to help and treated us like Royalty. Food they made for us was fantastic.Location of house was the very best !Very clean and felt safe, The house is really something else , we all had our own space and was quiet . The property is older and starting to show a little wear. Only improvement I could suggest would be more comfy mattresses. Keeping that in mind would we go back …. Yes in a minute.

We had a wonderful family reunion at the beautiful Villa Salamandra .The Location, view and beach of the Villa is amazing. We all enjoyed the views from our rooms and the pool was used daily . Gilberto was a fantastic host who shopped for us , served our food and made us delicious drinks . He looked after us from 7:00 am till 11:00 pm. He helped us booking excursion’s, taxies , shopping for good “tequila “. He is a great host. He loves his job and it is very evident Araceli and Brenda made delicious Mexican food and cleaned our rooms daily. Have to begin with the world class staff-Gilberto-Araceli-Brenda & Enrique.Their kindness and hospitality and the incredible food and service made our stay remarkable and memorable.Spectacular property - breathtaking setting and views- great beach access. However, time has not been kind to the structure and could absolutely use some updating and TLC. If you can overlook the obvious deferred maintenance of the property you will enjoy your stay.

My family had a wonderful week at the property. Gilberto and his staff were fantastic hosts of the property. The location was marvelous and even though the property is dated, the staff does a nice job of making you feel very welcome and keeps things clean, especially for being a beach house.

The property is right on the best piece of beach in the area. It is spacious and confortable. Proximity to the ocean creates some maintenance challenges: though just painted, metal window frames, chandeliers, etc. are corroded. This did not negatively affect our stay in any way. Service provided by Gilberto, his wife Araceli, and Cielo, was way beyond expectations. Not only did Araceli cooked delicious meals to us, but Gilberto was always happy to take any requests my group came up with. The place is very safe, accessed through a gate and with security patrolling the house and the beach 24/7. Spectacular sunsets and some rich marine wildlife can be watched while having a meal or drink by the pool. Highly recommended for a big group unforgettable experience.

Incredible location and an incredible property. Definitely a little 'beachy' and could use a few touch ups here and there but overall we loved our stay here and would stay here again. Marcelo is incredibly responsive and helpful as are his whole staff at the house. The meals every morning were fantastic and a great way to start the day.

The house is located right on the beach with an awesome pool. It’s in a gated community and we felt really safe. The house is mostly outdoor living and has 5 bedrooms that you can lock at night. The house itself is pretty dated and some fixtures didn’t work, but it was really clean. We didn’t really care since the location made up for it and the house manager Gilberto and his wife Sally were amazing!!!!!! They were super sweet, helpful calling taxis, went grocery shopping for us, cooked our meals and even washed our dishes. The food she prepared was the best Mexican food I’ve ever had and those two made our trip so relaxing and enjoyable!! We over course tipped them :). Each room had air conditioning as well which is a must.

The location of this property is spectacular. The “house” itself has not been maintained so some faucets are non-functional, no hot water to shower ( not an issue as it was quite warm), no toilet seat in bathroom in bunk room. Bed linens are old and fraying and towels were well used. BUT….we would go back in a heart beat! Gilberto, Shellie and their niece welcomed us with open arms. They prepared, served and cleaned up after amazing meals!! Always smiling and willing to do anything to make our stay the best! From celebrating birthdays with a piñata, to pina coladas by the pool, we were spoiled. Enrique was the night security and he patrolled giving us added sense of safety, although we never felt uneasy. Thank you Marcelo for opening up your home to us.

We had an incredible time here at this property. The staff were there 24/7 (even with a private security in the evenings) and could honestly get you anything you needed. Everyone was super kind and accommodating. The house was gorgeous, the food was delicious, and the the pool and private beach section were beyond what I expected and we had such an amazing time. Thank you!

I came back from this trip describing this trip as magical. I absolutely loved the house and the view was jaw dropping. Each morning had the most amazing sunrises. The house staff was amazing. They attended to all of our needs. Made amazing meals. We even caught fish that they made into ceviche, fillets, and burritos. So good! Kept everything really clean and it felt like a second home. Marcelo was also very responsive throughout. We will definitely be back!

Our family of 14 absolutely loved our week together at Villa Salamandra. Being right on the ocean was a major plus: walking on the beach, crashing waves, body boarding, building sand castles, dolphins swimming by every morning, and fantastic sunsets! Can’t say enough good things about the professional and friendly staff. The Villa was kept clean throughout the week, Rosa provided us with delicious meals, and Gilberto was always there anticipating and meeting our needs (from arranging transportation to making a pina colada and everything in between). Great family memories were created in abundance at Villa Salamandra!

We checked into this property and were forced to relocate at a considerable personal expense due to extreme safety concerns. There are corroded sewer grates that a person could fall through, there is exposed electrical throughout the house, the bar was full of ants, and the plumbing was so badly corroded that 2 bedrooms were unusable as the sagging pipes below created a terrible sewage stench in them. Further, the bedroom doors which open onto the beach do not lock which is a terrible safety concern. The pool did not heat, and there was no plan to fix it. We negotiated a refund with the owner, who made the refund contingent on us not leaving a review (for what its worth VRBO was totally OK with this arrangement and actually forwarded this request to us) Needless to say our refund still has not arrived after over 8 months. We will be posting real life (not marketing photos) of this nightmare online shortly - if you are considering staying here please google the name of this residence along with the words danger and fraud and our posting will come up - we are trying to help others not get robbed as we were.

The onsite staff was excellent and very accommodating. The location and view are spectacular. The facility is significantly outdated in relation to the pictures posted on line.

We stayed at Casa Salamandra from 12-26-19 to 1-2-20. Marcelo Mereles, the owner, was easy to communicate with, very responsive to our questions and very kind to us. His property was as described and was the best I have ever stayed at regarding location right on the beach of the Bay of Banderas in Nuevo Vallarta. Gilberto, who is the 24/7 on site concierge along with Shelly and Shaxeo provided us with 5 star service regarding meal preparation and service (whatever we wanted) as well as maintaining the living quarters and property and arranging transportation for a fishing trip and a trip to Las Caletas. These people made us feel very at home and treated us as a member of their family, always with a pleasant manner and smile on their faces. I highly recommend Casa Salamandra with no reservation!!

There were 10 people in our group 4 grandkids, 4 parents, & 2 Grandparents. We came here to Celebrate Thanksgiving & Papa's 60th Bday. The accommodations were incredible, with 3 king size suites, & 2 very large extra bedrooms all rooms having there own bathroom, sitting area & closets! The whole property was above what I expected! Gilberto made sure that everything went smoothly! He grilled up some great meat & Mahi Mahi that we caught on our fishing trip! Anytime we needed something Gilberto was on top of it.Gilberto was very accommodating with our food Allergies , such as No peanut, dairy & gluten, & Gilberto understood exactly what we requested ( no one had any reactions), we were SO Grateful for this. He setup Massages & Wave runners, right on the property.Rosario & Araceli did a fantastic job with our laundry.Our rooms were very clean! Rosario & Araceli cooked all our meals & snacks! Hats off to you girls the food was fantastic!Always a big warm smile on there faces!It was hard for me to stay out of the kitchen, not use to having someone wait on me hand and foot. Now that I'm home I miss it!Enjoying the pool & the ocean allday was so great we didn't even want to leave.The walks along the beach were great. if you walk to Bucerias it takes approx. 1 hour 20 min.We Highly recommend this property !Can't Say Enough about it. You can’t begin to describe how amazing this property is without mentioning Gilberto and Cheli! They truly make you feel special and at home. The location right on the beach, the beautiful house, the ocean view from every room, make this property just stunning. Between Gilberto and the ladies they keep the entire place remarkably clean, from the rooms to the pool. Each room has ample space, a private bathroom and air conditioning. We enjoyed every delicious meal outside. Cheli’s cooking is confident and never disappointed. Gilberto made sure that everything we wanted was readily available. My family and friends all had the time of our lives at Villa Salamandra. We have visited PVR every year since the 90’s and this was the most remarkable experience we have had. I definitely see us coming back to this property in our future.
