We really enjoyed our stay at this home. The views just made this stay even more amazing. The home is well kept, just as described and it was perfect for us to spend our time in Homer. We would definitely stay here again.

I do my reviews specific to my stay. So the basics was a 2 night stay with my wife and grade school son with 3 out of state family members that included 2 teenagers and their Grandma. We didn't intend to make many meals at the rental but we did want to bring our takeout back to the house for eating. The house was great for us with space for everyone with comfortable beds, clean throughout and well equipped. We stayed upstairs with our son, teenagers slept in the daylight basement room and Grandma slept on the main floor bedroom. The view was very enjoyable, relaxing and allowed us to enjoy the elevation. The weather was good so views were great. All of the features such as the washer and dryer helped us clean clothes after a day out. Kitchen was well equipped and allowed us to prep our sandwiches, heat up left overs and keep our cool groceries in the fridge.

This VRBO was perfect for our sibling trip. Room for everyone, immaculate, spectacular views. Couldn’t have asked for anything more and would highly recommend. Absolutely Loved Our Stay.

This home is beautiful. The beds are so comfortable and it has all the amenities you need. We mostly stayed in and cooked and had everything we needed. But most importantly was the view. This is a million dollar view. I grew up in Homer and this just wowed me.

The views here cannot be beat! We could barely pull ourselves off the deck. The beds are super comfortable and the appointments in this house the best we’ve ever seen. (and we travel extensively). The house is impeccably clean and everything you could want is provided. Fun to watch the pheasant and Steller Jays in the yard. All 4 of us just loved this place!

We absolutely loved our stay here. The home was beautiful, and the view was incredible. Everyone had their own space, and the location was great. The beds were comfy, and we loved playing cards at the dining room table. Wish we could have stayed longer. There was even a bald eagle that hung out on the roof!

Great place to stay. Comfortable for 4 adults when it came to sitting in the living room. The kitchen was well equipped with cookware and spices. Bring your own coffee though. There were 2 of the 4 beds that allowed for a darker room to sleep, if that matters to you. The view was work $1M, very nice to sit at the house and enjoy the Homer feel.

The pictures on this listing do not do the house justice! It’s what dreams are made of. The views alone make this place awesome. I never wanted to leave. Plenty of space for our group of six. The only thing that was missing would have been some yard games and a fire pit. I wouldn’t hesitate to return if I ever find myself in Homer again.

We had a wonderful time in Homer! The house is beautiful and very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked and we enjoyed meals from the dining room with views over Kachemak Bay. We would love to stay here again!

This house was beautiful. You walk in, and you immediately see the windows facing the gorgeous mountains. Sunny, cloudy, foggy—-all were beautiful views. The beds were so comfortable; we all slept great. One important note in my mind… it was one of the cleanest vacation rentals we’ve ever stayed at, and I’m picky about cleanliness! So that was very much appreciated. We chartered for salmon on the Kenai River one day and fished for halibut with a charter another day right from Homer. The location was great for reaching both destinations. It’s an easy drive (maybe 15 minutes) to the spit. We went down there several times. We were also excited to see a mama moose and her two calves hang out in the yard for at least an hour one morning. The living room was cozy, the dining room table was large enough for all of us, the kitchen was well stocked, and you can’t help but stare out those windows! We would’ve been outside on the deck more often, but it rained most of the time we were there. It didn’t stop us from grilling salmon though. Plus, the mountains were so neat to watch with the ever-changing clouds and random rays of sun peaking through at times. Our party consisted of my in-laws, my husband, and our two teenage sons. There was plenty of space for all of us, and it has a perfect yard for my boys to run around playing catch. If I find myself in Homer in the future, I’d for sure book here again. Don’t hesitate to stay here!

after missing the number sign to the property because gps took us past the driveway, we found it, and it was amazing Getting into the house was simple, it was clean and the VIEW!! was out of this world!!! My friends and I high fived that we made a good decisiion on thi property and went directly t the porch to start taking pictures even though it was raining. We will be renting this again if available next time we head to Homer. one afternoon the girls went to nap and I couldnt so I just pulled up a chair in the loft grabbed the binoculars and headphones and jusrted watching the bay, the mountains, the birds, the planes. It was an amazing time You will not be disappointed

Lovely sea themed house. Had an amazing panoramic view of the bay! Could easily of slept 8 if it is couples or people who don't mind sharing beds. A short 10minute drive from everything Homer has to offer. Would highly recommend and stay again.

We had a wonderful stay in Homer at this house. It is beautifully decorated, spacious and has absolutely amazing views. It was the perfect home base for our family to visit Homer and there is a huge yard for kids to run around and play in. We would definitely come back to this house if given the chance!!

We enjoyed being a bit removed from the town, the area is peaceful and has such a lovely view while still close enough to all the activities we were interested in. The house was well appointed and had plenty of space to spread out. We would definitely stay here again.

Spacious bright home perched on the hill overlooking homer with picturesque views of the bay and surrounding mountains. Great accommodations with everything available even moose walking by in the morning.

Absolutely the most incredible view from any property we’ve ever stayed at. The few things that made it difficult- no place to put a suitcase in small bedroom on main floor. We had two suitcases so had to put one in the laundry room. It worked ,but not handy. Another on a chair in bathroom. Dining room table & chairs were very uncomfortable. Lots of decor which looked great but hard to find a spot to put our stuff. A bit less clutter would be helpful. Kitchen was great! Nice dishes, glassware & pans. Beds were comfortable. Lots of household supplies….fantastic to not run out! Host was wonderful!

We had a fantastic stay here. The house is lovely, with wonderful views. The location is perfect. It’s a short drive to the Homer Spit, but far enough away to provide a tranquil setting. We saw lots of wildlife during our stay!

Loved every inch of this Place!!!

The house was definitely under promoted! The views from this house of the mountains and the Homer Spit are stunning!! We didn’t realize that the bedrooms are on three different floors. The bedroom in the lowest level of the house also has a sitting area and sliding glass door access to the outside. Kitchen has everything you need for cooking and nice grill on the deck for cooking out. We would definitely want to stay her again on our next visit to Homer!

If I could give Ptarmigan Cottage 10 stars I would. It exceeded my expectations in every way. The location and view are perfect! The cottage itself, the amenities, the light washed rooms, premium beds and linens, exceptionally stocked kitchen. Book this place with confidence you will have a wonderful stay in Homer!!
