Make sure you screen shot the Wi-Fi password & lock box code before coming to the location. We did have a field mouse get into the house that was eating our pretzels the first night but we did not see him again once we locked up all the open food bags but we left one night early because of the mouse. The field mouse is to be expected because of where you are. The house was VERY clean and very comfortable. I had no contact info for the home owners & felt this issue was not a huge deal to contact them about. I provided 5 stars for communication but did not talk to them.
There is cell service if you drive 22 minutes to the closest town. Mine is At&t and one had T-Mobile and we had nothing at the house. Make sure you activate Wi-Fi calling on your phone before going. Driving through the mountains the cell service would drop out for miles so don’t clear your maps application if you have no cell service. There is a paper map option at the rest stop by the BP off of Hwy19
Make sure you download offline maps of the area before coming incase you get lost.

We loved our two nights at Running Squirrel Ridge! The home was comfortable and clean, and described very accurately in the listing. The kitchen is well equipped and we cooked both dinners while there. The hot tub under the stars was a great experience, even on a cloudy night. The host was responsive prior to our visit with questions about the area and some other details. Highly recommend the cabin!

I would absolutely recommend this stay to adults! If you have a toddler I would suggest bring a baby gate for the loft area (my little one was obsessed with the cute little stairs but did fall down them, ONCE) he’s ok! ت WiFi is a little touchy but it worked out for us as we stayed busy on the property exploring and at the near by lake! I’d definitely stay again with my husband and friends!

This cabin was perfect for my husband and I. Nice, quiet and secluded. The hot tub was the best part! We would absolutely stay there again.

I loved this cabin! It was very charming and cute. It was also clean which definitely makes a difference. This area is very beautiful and peaceful. The hot tub is great as well! Would definitely recommend overall!

This cabin is wonderful! It was clean and welcoming. The views that you get from the many windows inside and on the deck are beautiful. You feel secluded from the world with all of the trees around. I did the short hike up to the top of the mountain and the view was well worth it! You can sit on the bench at the top and see the lake and mountain view. There were even a few benches along the trail that I used to take a break. And to end the day, I relaxed in the hot tub! My stay was relaxing and peaceful. I am looking forward to returning.

This was a wonderful getaway from the world. It is an adorable cabin with a comfy master bed and cute kids' nook, super comfy couches, and a fun movie selection. We loved stargazing from the hot tub, hiking the trails, and enjoying the swings up on the mountain. The quiet mountains and great views let us feel secluded even though town was only 20 minutes away. There was a great hammock spot we enjoyed, and even though I chose to keep my phone turned off, it was an added perk that there was Wifi if I wanted to get connected with the outside world. Thanks so much for sharing your little piece of heaven! We will definitely be visiting again.

Wow! This place is beautiful!! Tucked away in the hills of NC. The view was stunning(especially the hike up around the property). We loved the swing. Watching my youngest girl swing was such and enjoyment because she loved it ! The cabin was clean ,they provided so much and even a nice laundry room! Places to sit outside like a table with unbrella, picnic table and hammocks! Hot tub was very nice !! The kids absolutely loved the loft with a comfy Queen and also a air matress that you just plug in and fills up and is comfortable! Games , movies and relaxation. Queen in bedroim downstairs that was very comfy and two pull out couches. Plenty of room and they provided extra blankets. This place was so lovely !!! We went to a local trout farm and did some tubing. Enjoyed the Nantahala. No wifi or cell service so that was great to disconnect. So take your family and let them catch their supper and play some ganes and enjoy the blessings you have in this nice gettaway:) I am from the mountains and hills of Tennessee and beauty runs deep here but to me NC is the next best thing to me :) Great host too !! Super nice and fast response!!

Easy access and supplied with everything we needed for a quiet family weekend. No wifi or cell service kept us away from distractions and spent quality time together watching movies, playing games, in the hot tub and walking trails and enjoying the swings

Even for my group of 6, this tiny home didn’t feel so tiny because there were so many things to do outdoors. My husband and I loved the hammock and hot tub and my kids loved the fire pit and swing. We took hikes everyday using both trails and saw the prettiest views. This was an exceptional birthday trip.

The cabin was extremely cozy, warm, and had a beautiful property. We enjoyed the hike out back and the beautiful views. However, the cleaning process really needs some work. There was a sticky kitchen table, dirty shower floor, hair on pillowcases, and a nasty toilet seat. The hot tub had a huge accumulation of some sort of brown scum in the corner which we also had to clean. The host was extremely hospitable and friendly, but these cleaning issues severely affected our ability to feel relaxed and clean in the cabin. After wiping everything down thoroughly, it was a very nice stay. We would recommend this cabin if a better cleaning process was implemented.

This is a very comfortable cabin to stay in. Very private. There is a cabin down the hill that you really don't see, but it is somewhat close. The hiking trails both lead to the same spot on top where you get a peek at the lake. We enjoyed swinging on the swing, laying on the hammock, relaxing in the hot tub, s'more-ing by the fire. The house had *just* enough space for our family of 5 (6, 4, 2 y/o) to stay for 4 nights. Well equipped, so you only need your clothes and bath stuff. Thanks so much!!

My husband and I enjoyed the seclusion and privacy of the place. Cozy and away from the Hussle and bustle of everyday life, but within 20 minutes of Andrews, NC.

We were in the area to paddle whitewater and found a quiet getaway. Water heater temp could be higher now that evenings are cool. Quaint and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay. All was as advertised

Directions to property were spot on, useful information in binder, very clean (other than one dirty pillowcase and a few small critters in corner of shower) and well appointed. Great location and convenient the the NOC and more; great quiet getaway with solitude. Very happy we chose this property.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!
Such a cute and beautiful cabin. Me and my partner loved staying here. Very secluded with hot tub, fire pit, beautiful indoor space, swings and private hikes within the property! Very secluded and you'd barely step out of the cabin grounds as it is very MAGICAL!

A gem in the woods
All the right things made this tiny house stay one to remember. The deck and extra seating areas were perfect, and it served as a great home-base to come back to from our days adventures.

Cozy tiny cabin
Perfect for two people. Hot tub was clean and easy to use. Location minutes to the lake where our friends were staying.
Loft was too small for us to use, more for children to play in.

Talk about unplugged!
Very private, no cell service, no wifi, no cable or satellite. Just what the doctor ordered. We enjoyed being unplugged from all devices and just relax.

No WiFi, No problem!!
Super fun Getaway, beautiful location. It was truly like a little home away from home! The only thing I would change is to stay longer. :) S’mores by the camp fire, relaxing in the hot tub, who needs a phone!! I’m from the Outer Banks, first time in the Mountains and it was AMAZING, start to finish! Thank you for having us!!

Very relaxing and actually enjoyed life AWAY from wifi and cell service. My kids had a blast hiking and exploring, would definitely stay there again!

Perfect weekend getaway
We had a great time " unplugged" from everything. No phone service or internet, yet the kids were not bored. They enjoyed exploring around the property and we all enjoyed the hot tub. Would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

Secluded Views
This little cabin was just cozy enough to provide everything we needed! Big windows bring in the views. Great outdoor space on the deck and property to explore and enjoy. There is an additional building that houses a washer/dryer on site. The drive up was a pretty but curvy mountain road. The driveway is steep but manageable. It's quiet and relaxed but there is zero reception for any kind of communication. You have to drive a few miles if you need that. We stopped at the grocery store about 20 minutes away and stocked up and didn't need a thing! It snowed the entire time, even though it was April but it was beautiful and fun getaway in a nice, comfortable space. We stayed warm and the hot tub was a treat!

Weekend Getaway
This was a wonderful weekend getaway with gorgeous views, an amazing cabin, and of course a hot tub! All of the instructions were straightforward and incredibly helpful and we had no problem finding the home, even in the dark. Everything was clean and we were provided with everything we needed from sheets, towels, and kitchen supplies. If you’re looking to disconnect and relax you should absolutely stay here!

Natural Wonders
My husband and I enjoyed our weekend stay at the cabin. The 600 ft driveway is steep but if you follow instructions you can get up alright. It is hard to navigate at night. Once up on the mountain, the views are spectacular. The foliage was lovely. The hike to the top of the mountain on the property had another lovely view. It was great to disconnect for the weekend!

Cozy and secluded
I had a nice time staying at the cabin with my boyfriend. The location was very close to a wedding venue I attended in Topton, which turned out excellent! The trails on the property were also very pleasant to hike, and the views from the swing and fire pit were truly breathtaking.

Beautiful Place (Beware the Road)
My colleagues and I enjoyed the accommodations for two nights, during an event we worked in the area. I would certainly return. However, the gravel path getting up and down the mountain is DANGEROUS. I was not able to gain enough speed while headed up at night, and when I attempted to back up, got my AWD SUV stuck on the side decline, very close to flipping over. I believe more lighting is needed to avoid these situations, and the tow company driver let me know my case was certainly not the first in that spot. Overall, great venue though..

Quiet and Relaxing
Loved the tranquility of the property. We weren’t at the cabin much as we were driving around all day enjoying the foliage and hiking. We loved watching The Goldberg’s at night with the fireplace running!

A True Getaway
The beautiful scenery and lack of cell service allows for a real disconnect and fully immerses you into nature. 30 minutes away from great hiking trails. You have to do your homework and come prepared with directions/maps due to the lack of cell service, but it’s worth it.

Excellent Experience. Around the last weekend in September leaves are still in the trees. Hiking to the top of the mountain gave some good exercise without needing to drive. Even with the leaves on the trees, I could see in the valley the lake and distant mountain peaks. The family story in the cabin notebook was a highlight as well. Stories are great with context and getting to breath the fresh mountain air helped it to come alive. The decorations in the cabin were fun along with the prints on the quilt in the main bedroom. I followed instructions on the stove and cracked a window over the sink and next to the table for cross ventilation while cooking. Cabin was weatherproof. The upgrades were throughout including hardwood floors, new carpet, fresh white paint and tile in the bathroom and a comfy topper on the bed. The huge well painted deck made me wish I had brought more people to enjoy. Deck was nice enough to pitch a tent on if that were needed. I loved the quiet AC unit. The outdoor condenser part was behind the outbuilding so I never heard it come on. The part inside was almost silent. The extra heater under the television chased away the chill in the morning. The grass was nicely trimmed. I recommend the Lakes End Restaurant a short drive away. The location is great for waterfall viewing and for hikes like the one to Wesser Fire tower. The Mr. Coffee was simple to operate. Many other fun things about this cabin are there for discovery.A big thanks to the family for making your cabin available and affordable on the tight budget.
