I stayed at this stunning home on the canal for two weeks with my best friend and I can easily say it made the destination for our road-trip a dream come true. The neighborhood is safe, calm, and pretty quiet. The canal and nearby beach were so refreshing, the garage was perfect and we felt extremely safe and comfortable the entire time. The house itself was wonderful, my friend and I used the sound system throughout it everyday, the kitchen was perfect for when we wanted to cook anything, we had everything we could think of and more. I think the cherry on top of it all was just how kind, respectful and helpful Josh was, he responded extremely fast whenever we had a question and continued perfect communication Throughout our whole stay to make sure we were settling in good and he made it very easy to contact him if we needed help.
Everything about our time here was too good to be true and we’ll remember it forever.

Josh's property is beautiful, with incredible views from every level of the home. It is in the best location, on the peaceful and quiet canals, just blocks from the beach, Abbott Kinney shopping, restaurants, etc., etc. It is well appointed, the kitchen has so much more than other VRBO homes, and Josh is incredibly responsive, kind, welcoming, and an all-around A+++ host! We can't wait to come back.

This property has a wow factor to it. The location is great for families that are experiencing Los Angeles and/or staying local. It’s a short walk to Venice Beach and a short bike ride to Santa Monica pier.
The house was clean and had everything a family or friends would need. I would stay here again without hesitation.

The house is open, light, airy and chic. The kitchen is the best equipped rental we have ever stayed in and is well-stocked with staples. Everything is tastefully and thoughtfully done. Josh is beyond responsive and made our stay easy and fun. We will come again and would recommend this beautiful home on the magical Venice Canals to anyone.

We took an 8 day family vacation to Los Angeles to see the city, mountains, and beach and used this house as our stay. Loved it, and it was a great base camp for us.
The checkin process with the host was clear and unambiguous, exactly what you would want - lots of explanations, very reasonable asks, and overall a smooth process. 100% five star.
The house itself is set on the canals in a quiet neighborhood, off the bustle of the city. Peaceful and tranquil is how I would describe it. Lots of natural light throughout the day, and close enough to the water to get cool breezes at night. We also utilized the garage for our rental car without hassle. Access to and from LAX was super easy, and to the rest of the area - the city, PCH, Malibu and the mountains - was also unexpectedly smooth.
The location was perfect for us. We have a small market nearby, and a bigger market not much further away. Our morning routine included breakfast at home, walking to spend a couple of hours at the skatepark, and then some coffee at a local cafe on the way home. Super calm, very relaxing. Lots of food options in the neighborhood if you need them, we did ramen noodles one night, and another night hit a nearby grocery for some prepared foods. We also made use of the well appointed kitchen.
Checkout was smooth as can be, again perfectly reasonable. Good communication, easy process, exactly what I would want for a vacation rental.
Five star all the way. A vacation the family enjoyed!

We come back annually to visit friends we made when we lived here for 23 years
and have stayed in Josh's house several times.
He's the consummate host, his house is fully equipped, well maintained, comfortable, light, well stocked with all sorts of cooking and domestic equipment, great appliances, kitchen items, fabulous showers, parking for 2 cars, and the canal is the most peaceful spot in L.A. 10 minute walk to Abbott Kinney, markets, healthy food, restaurants, and great ice cream.

This was our second stay at this amazing property and we hope to return regularly. Josh is a fantastic host--easy to communicate with, hospitable and always ready to make sure guests have a great experience.
The property itself is as lovely as the pictures indicate and it's a treat to be able to sit outside, walk around (or canoe!) the canals or take a short stroll to the beach. The house is a perfect place to be based on the Westside and we recommend it highly.

This property was easily accessible by foot and car. The house was well stocked with everything you might need on vacation. The house was absolutely wonderful - uniquely laid out, well decorated, well furnished, master bath with dual shower heads and steam. The canals were a great safe location for our family within easy walking distance to the beach, Abbott Kinney Blvd, and Washington St. I have already recommended this house to friends. The owner, Josh, was extremely helpful and pleasant throughout our stay. If we ever return to the area, we will certainly consider staying here again.

Our family of 5 stayed here for a week over Christmas and absolutely loved our stay! So much light and window views to the canal, many separate balconies and canoeing available, really just a lovely peaceful home. Josh was incredibly helpful and available for all of our questions/concerns.

The Canal House truly set the tone for our multi generational Milestone, Birthday Celebrations Vacation. From the beautiful architecture to the craftsmanship inside the home, it is clear that this home is well loved. No expense has been spared to make guest feel welcomed. The home has beautiful, yet very comfortable furnishings and every amenity one could imagine. I was thrilled to find a home with a media room that allowed for a dedicated teenager space. The master suite did not disappoint either. My 75 year old mother was most pleased. All of the beds, including the pull out sofa in the media room were extraordinarily comfortable. The biggest hit of the home, the multi deck platforms. The teenagers loved being on the upper most deck nightly. My mother enjoyed the other two decks/patios off of the master. Lastly, location, location, location… The proximity to the beach and accessibility around town by scooter rental was a favorite for my teen. My daughter and I walked to restaurants and the boardwalk. Marina Del Rey was a 5 minute walk. Santa Monica Pier, Beverly Hills a very short car ride away. I could not have asked for a more perfect place to bring 3 generations together to create such beautiful memories. This home truly exceeded all of my expectations. Josh we hope to have an occasion to visit again in the near future.

Amazing Property on the Canals
My wife and I spent three perfect weeks at this beautiful property. First, the location is idyllic. It is literally right on the canals in a very peaceful spot. Second, the house is outstanding--full of natural light and boasting a great open floor plan. Third, Josh is a fabulous host who takes great care of his home and guests. We can't wait to book again soon!

“The Complete Vacation Home”
We visit family in LA nearly every January. This is the third house in the Venice Canals we have rented, and it was by far the best. Spotless, tastefully decorated and generously furnished, it has a gym, which we used every day, and a completely outfitted office that my wife, a law school professor, used every day to grade papers. The owner, Josh, was unfailingly helpful. We will definitely return, hopefully next January

The Way to Experience Venice!
First and foremost, Josh is an excellent host! From the time you first meet him, his aim is to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The house is designed beautifully with plenty of areas to have fun together but everyone had their own space as well. The canals are a special area and very relaxing. Also, its a short walk to Venice Beach and an easy walk to Abbott Kinney. Plenty of restaurants to choose from Culver to Venice to Santa Monica. Tons of hiking in the area as well and the rides to Malibu to the canyons and beach went smoothly. In short, you can go wrong with Josh and this house for a great relaxing vacation!

Fantastic stay - perfect location and beautiful home
There were three of us visiting the area and loved our stay at this beautiful home right on the canals. Place was spotless; comfortable and quiet. There is a canoe available for a water tour. We got our flat whites at Minottis and really enjoyed Great White for food.

Perfect!
This home is the best we have ever stayed in on our frequent travels. Everything was even better than promised and pictured. The house sits on a beautiful, peaceful canal. Having morning coffee and evening cocktails with hummingbirds and butterflies was a daily occurrence. The backyard was so well designed for both privacy and views. Daily walks around the canals was picturesque and interesting. As far as arrival, we were graciously greeted by the owner Josh. Waiting inside was an exquisite fresh flower arrangement and a lovely bottle of wine. Josh was pleasant and informative, but never intrusive. As far as the house itself, we lacked for nothing. The kitchen was well stocked with anything we needed for a delicious meal, including some rarely used spices and oils. The bedrooms were relaxing and the mattress one of the best we've ever slept on, pillows were great too. The house is beautifully designed, spacious and has whole house sound system. It too had everything we needed from a canoe to an ironing board. The area around the house was quiet with mostly bikes and pedestrian traffic only. Stores within walking distance as was the beach and shops. Tons of other things to do (Disney, etc.) are all an easy drive away. We truly loved our stay and of course didn't want to leave. Hope to stay here again on our next California trip. Thanks for sharing you home with us Josh.

In a word...sensational. The house was perfect, the location was spectacular and the amenities were off the chart. We've already inquired about a couple of weeks next summer.
As our kids get older and busier with their lives we try to carve out some family time to sit back and relax and catch up with what's going on with everyone. This location and house was perfect for doing just that, a 10 minute walk to the beach and a host of restaurants that appealed to everyone's tastes. The workout room, the patios/deck, the canoe, and the bikes all made for a perfect little family vacation.

A beautiful property
What a beautiful property! My friend and I stayed here with our teenage daughters for a week. The house was immaculate. The location is walkable to Abbott Kinney, Marina Del Rey, and Venice. We loved using the bikes provided everyday. The kitchen has everything you need plus more! We had the best time canoeing and exploring the canals. Our daughters loved the sound system throughout the whole house as well! Josh was very easy to get a hold of and was quick to accommodate us staying an extra day! It was too hard to leave!

Amazing Place - Great Host!
Family visit to Los Angeles to visit daughter at LMU. House was an AMAZING oasis - exceptionally well-appointed and great location on the canals - walking distance to wonderful restaurants, shops and beach. We enjoyed the opportunity to cook and dine in - and LOVED the well stocked kitchen. We also had a blast with the rooftop hot tub. Josh made everything easy and was super responsive. Cannot wait to go back!

My family and I had the most incredible stay at Josh’s Venice Canals getaway. The house is incredible, the amenities are fantastic, and Jost was a kind and communicative host. The pictures don’t even do it justice. The area is gorgeous and very walkable. 10-out-of-10 we’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

The perfect spot to enjoy Venice and the canals
This house is beautiful - the photos show it accurately. It has everything you need in terms of dishes, pots and pans, spices etc. including a semi-stocked pantry that you can use on the honor method. Josh is amazingly friendly and helpful and responsive. We spent Christmas here after visiting the canals in August and it was magical. I highly recommend!
