Unser renoviertes Tybee Cottage aus dem Jahr 1930 ist eines der wenigen privaten Cottages, die am Südende gemietet werden können. Von unserem Grundstück sind es hundert Schritte zu den Dünen. Es ist ein zweistöckiges Haus mit separaten Wohnbereichen auf jeder Ebene. Das Haus befindet sich auf einer Privatstraße ohne jeglichen Verkehr. Kleine Kinder lieben es, in den Gezeitenbecken an den Stränden an diesem Ende der Insel zu spielen. Sonnenuntergänge über Little Tybee sind unglaublich.
Das Haus ist einzigartig für Tybee und wird mit einer zusätzlichen Menge geliefert, damit Kinder mehr Platz zum Spielen haben. Das zusätzliche Grundstück bietet auch ausreichend Parkplätze für einen Gruppenausflug zum Strand. Hausaufteilung perfekt für Familien mit einer Familiensuite, Spielräumen und vielen Spielen. Die Lage ermöglicht es Ihnen, Ihr Auto zu parken und nie wieder zu fahren. Kurzer Fußweg zu Restaurants oder nur um einen Schneekegel zu bekommen.
Das Haus ist groß genug für mehrere Familien. Im Obergeschoss befinden sich zwei Schlafzimmer mit Doppelbetten. Der "Wintergarten" ist ein großartiger Ort, um sich als Gruppe zu versammeln und umfasst ein Klavier. Es hat auch ein Queen-Schlafsofa. Darüber hinaus gibt es ein Esszimmer neben der Küche sowie einen Küchenessbereich mit ausreichend Platz für 12 Personen zum Abendessen. Ein perfekter Ort für alle, die ihren Tag bei einem großartigen Essen verbringen möchten.
Im Erdgeschoss befindet sich eine separate Schlafzimmersuite mit eigenem Bad, Queensize-Bett und zwei Einzelbetten. Die Suite öffnet sich zum Achterdeck. Das Queensize-Bett ist von den Einzelbetten durch einen Sichtschutzvorhang getrennt. Im Erdgeschoss befinden sich auch ein Spielzimmer, ein Queensize-Schlafsofa mit einem zusätzlichen Schaumgummi, ein Tischfußballspiel, ein zusätzliches Bad und eine Waschküche. Darüber hinaus gibt es eine Außendusche.
Wir lieben es zu unterhalten, also gibt es draußen zwei Decks. Ein großer Gasgrill ist ebenfalls vorhanden.
Das Haus hat auch Highspeed-Internet, WLAN und Kabel.

This beautiful old home is in a wonderful location on Tybee. We enjoyed our morning walks to enjoy coffee on the beach and the easy access to our favorite part of the island. The house itself is comfortable! Slept very well and the beds were comfy. The cleanliness of the home on the other hand was quite disappointing. It was clear that the home had not been thoroughly cleaned in quite a while considering the dust under the beds and dressers. The bathrooms were not that impressively clean either. Our son and his family used the bottom floor of the home and had several issues with broken beds and unsafe spindles on the staircase. The handyman lives on the property and did remedy the situation temporarily but works needs to be done to get this home up to par in both cleaniness and safety before I would recommend to anyone. The owner did give a small compensation for the broken bed and the caretaker was very kind on the plus side:))

Had a fabulous time on Tybee Island. Perfect location, super quiet neighborhood, short walk to the beach manageable for most ages. Less than a half mile to downtown shops and food! Lots of beach cottage charm with a little quirkiness. Would definitely stay again.

Our group of teens LOVED this property. Plenty of space for the girls upstairs and adults downstairs. We loved the large dining room table--plenty of room for our entire party of eight to sit together comfortably. The property was so well stocked with everything you could need! The best part was the short easy walk to the beach and to shops nearby. We really appreciated all the beach chairs and beach gear at the house so we didn't have to make space in our packing for those bulky items. You really just need to pack your clothing, basic toiletries, and beach towels! Plenty of k-cups, basic condiments in the fridge, Pam for cooking, and all the cooking tools/pans/dishware you could need. Tons of games, books, and the foosball table downstairs! Amazing property!

This beach house was ideal for our family. Our dog enjoyed the fenced in backyard- the beach is just a short walk. The piano was a delightful surprise. Kitchen well appointed- the spacious dining room and extra long table served our family well. Having a separate floor on the ground level gave our niece the privacy and quiet needed for their 3 year old. The caretaker’s cottage is on the property, wonderful couple! And the extra lot for parking cars- Hope to return someday!

The property is beautifully located on a quiet street, only a few steps to the beach. The check in process/host was very easy to work with. There were lots of towels for use which was nice, along with a washer and dryer. The home is older (as noted in the listing) — but slightly cluttered and some of the spaces are a little awkward/cramped. Ultimately the location is great and as stated the host was very good at communicating.

We had a great stay. The weather was unseasonably warm so we could get out and walk and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. Stargazer, was big enough for everyone to have there own space. I would stay at Stargazer again.

This house ( and host) was wonderful. Fully stocked with games, books, and even shampoo, conditioner and body wash! Detailed info from host, and easy walking distance to stores and restaurants, and of course, the beach. The beach was fabulous— no crowds ( October is a great time to visit Tybee).

We were two families vacationing together with children ranging from 2.5 years to 14 years old. There was a total of 10 of us and our two dogs. Our trip was in October, so the island population was down from the holiday rush and everything was so peaceful and beautiful. The beach was super close and the restaurants, gift shops, and arcades were a very short walk, even with 6 kids in tow. The fenced yard was perfect for BBQing and for the dogs. I'm glad we found this gem, Mike the owner was super friendly and helpful with recommendations. We could definitely see ourselves coming back.

My friend and I brought our dogs for a 4 night stay at Star Gazer Cottage on Tybee Island. The house was perfect… secluded and quiet but within waking distance to everywhere we wanted to go.

Fabulous location at the end of the island. Very short walk to the sand. Celebrated family birthdays, enjoyed beach time and played several rounds of dis golf at the local course. House was as advertised and came well stocked for cooking. Plan to return.

This house was more than advertised. The owner was super communicative and responsive. The beds were comfortable, the living space was homey, and the kitchen was well-equipped. I will definitely be staying here again.
We had plenty of room for our extended family to spread out. We never ran out of hot water - with 10 people in the house. The beach was just steps away. It was the perfect set-up for us.

We enjoyed our stay on Tybee in Stargazer. The house is steps away from a private beach. The 100 year old house is the quintessential southern beach cottage, exactly what you'd expect near Savannah. Very roomy, very comfortable, and well equipped. Mike, the owner, and John, the caretaker, were there to welcome us and ensure a smooth check-in. Quiet neighborhood, very walkable. Great place for people and our dog.

Arrived a little after 4pm on check in day and unlocked the door and knew immediately something wasn’t right. I looked down and saw the floor was dirty, dirty sheets were in a pile next to the beds, kitchen wasn’t clean. There were nail/ toe nail clippings on the kitchen counter, dirty towels in the bathtub. I immediately called the owner and left a voicemail. He called me back within 5 minutes and said there was a misunderstanding with the cleaning crew and they would be straight over. He offered to pay for our dinner because of the inconvenience. We had stopped to buy groceries and were planning to barbecue as there were 11 of us and eating out would’ve cost a fortune. What he offered would not have covered dinner for us all.He said he would text me when the cleaning was completed. My younger son works in hospitality and suggested we mark all of the dirty linens and towels with liquid soap, that way we would know if the cleaning was done properly and not a rushed, cutting corners kind of job. This we did AND took photos of the wet soap marks. We returned from dinner ready to give this another chance.I could feel grit under my feet and could see that although the floor had been swept, it wasn’t done properly. We walked into the downstairs bedroom and felt the thin quilt on the bed as well as the matching pillowcases and exactly where the wet soap patches were.. they were still there. The sheets were clean at least. The thin quilts on the other 2 beds were unwashed as well as the matching pillow cases as they still had the wet patches and one of the thin quilts had an over powering smell of perfume. I contacted the owner and informed him of the situation and how I knew that the proper cleaning had not been done. He said the cleaning manager had assured him that the cleaning had been completed up to standard and then said that the quilts don’t get washed after every guest just put into the dryer at high heat, not this time because the wet patches were still wet. He apologized. I spent the next few hours washing all of the bedding. He said my standards were high but I think everyone expects clean bedding and a clean environment. If this is the norm then I do not trust VRBO and would not use them again. Maybe they all cut the same corners..
The cleaning fee plus a little extra was refunded but I would’ve preferred a clean home. None of us felt comfortable because we knew how low the cleaning standards were.

“Star Gazer” met our expectations and then some. Every room in the house was spacious with room to relax inside or out. A short walk to the beach to catch the early morning sunrise or a walk downtown for shopping, lunch or dinner. The house fit us perfectly for 2 couples. 1 up and 1 down stairs…perfect for the older dog to not have to climb stairs. The fenced back yard was a bonus for the dogs to have some freedom.
Mike was an attentive host and communicated very well.
John, the caretaker, was very welcoming and helpful.

Our family of 8 (grandparents, 3 adults, 2 college kids, and 1 12 yr old) had a nice stay in Tybee at this house. We were 3 houses from the beach down a private road. The house, although a little piecemeal, was clean and fit us all. The beds were very comfortable. It was freezing when we were here in December but the beach looks fantastic. We would love to come back and enjoy the spring/summer weather!

Very happy with the house. It was well supplied with towels, linens, beach supplies, toys. The house was perfect for our family. The caretaker was friendly. The owner provided us with an informational packet concerning the island, and most of all...we owe him a big thank you for allowing our 14 year old dog to enjoy Star Gazer. The entire family was very happy to make memories at the Star Gazer.

Perfect for growing family
This house was perfect for our group of 7. Our kids are older teens, and our oldest brought her hubby and their toddler, so we needed room to spread out. The layout was perfect for giving everyone their own space! Our daughter’s little family took over the downstairs, and the upstairs living area became the hub for group movies and game time. The house was immaculate and offered everything we needed and even things we forgot to bring, down to the little details of extra kitchen and laundry supplies, and things for baby. We all loved the deck and secluded patio area. We hope to return as soon as we can! Thanks for the wonderful memories!

Our family loves this home! Vacation with 6+ adults, toddler and baby…. This house has everything you need! Walk down the drive, over the dunes and you are on the beach (easy peasy with a toddler!) they have chairs, beach toys, beach cart, outdoor shower, pack and play, high chair…… and great responsiveness from the owners. AC is nice and crispy too when you are done at the beach :) Can’t wait to come back!

I absolutely love this property. It was perfect for my family. Everyone had personal space and plenty of gathering spaces. Our favorite was the deck in the back. We had one question and owner responded in seconds! The location is perfect. Can be at shops and restaurants or the beach in 2 minutes. Yet it feels very private. I can’t wait to go back,

Classic, spacious, beach cottage. Plenty of room for 4 adults to stay and enjoy all Tybee Island has to offer. So close to the beach and all the south end activities but tucked away in a quiet little neighborhood. What a gem!
