Our stay at Pleasure Point was amazing! The waves crashing below the balcony was a bonus. The walk to the beach was just a few houses down from the driveway. The house was very accommodating and fully stocked. We loved it!

We hosted our family at this Santa Cruz gem right after Christmas. The weather was very blustery with high tides and rough water but we had a great time in this cozy home with a fireplace in the living room, lots of fun family games, and a nice spacious and well-equipped kitchen for family meals. The location of this property was so good, especially with the deck right on the ocean. It's a short walk to a little beach, called Moran Lake Beach and to Pleasure Point in the opposite direction.
Everything was clean and the beds were comfortable.
We thought the separate units might make it difficult to feel "together" for our family, but it was nice to have the part of the family with little ones be able to get up early and not disturb those who needed to sleep in.

Nice house with a gorgeous view of the ocean. Everything was clean except that there was a decoration left from the previous guest. Note that while the listing said there is parking space for 5 cars, it is actually 3 for standard sized cars like an accord. The garage would probably only fit smart cars or something that are relatively short in length. Also, the shower upstairs did not work at all, but I suppose there are 2 downstairs that work. Would be nice to have them all working though.

This is a great beach house, it's not fancy, but it's clean, very comfortable, has plenty of off street parking, and it was the perfect location for our family. Not shown in the pictures, there is a brand new cooktop, oven and microwave.
Our favorite part of the house was definitely the back deck off of the kitchen. Each morning we had coffee, watched the otters, sealions and an occasional pod of dolphins right off the shore, followed by wine and cheese each evening while watching the sun set. Great location between Seabright and Capitola, where there are many great restaurants and plenty of shops.

We just had a lovely 8 night stay at this property. The location right on the water can not be beat. It's a cozy house--not super fancy but comfortable and relaxing. We went with our daughter/husband and 11 month baby, who used the mini in-law apartment upstairs, which gave them some privacy and us a break from any middle of the night crying. The only thing to be aware of is that the gas fireplace downstairs is the central heat for that unit downstairs, other than space heaters in the bedrooms. Being right on the water, it does get chilly. This was plenty of heat for the home, but with an 11 month old walking around, it was a little challenging keeping him away from it and something we didn't really consider in terms of the practicality of the space for a busy baby. But we managed and we would definitely go back. It was a great house for us and no one wanted to leave.

Our stay here was amazing! The location was close to everything! We loved being so close to the water. We slept with the sliding door open to hear the waves at night. The beds were very comfortable especially in the master bedroom. We liked there were so many pillows (both on the beds and on the window seat in the living room) as this made it more comfortable and more like home! We enjoyed gathering outside on the deck to hang out in the evenings and waking up and having breakfast with the amazing view which sometimes included sea lions, seals and birds on water. We loved the extra touches the owners made to make the place feel like home such as the extra bath towels, dish towels, condiments, dishes, soap, laundry detergent, dish soap, blender, toaster, and coffee maker just to name a few. The layout was different with the upstairs being a separate from the downstairs. However, this was fine for our group and we didn't really notice once we got settled. Having the garage to park in was wonderful. The details supplied by the owners made the checking in/out and preparing for the stay easy and smooth. We loved staying here and hope to return in the future.

Ideal area, away from the crowd but easy to venture out toward the Boardwalk or 41st Ave when you feel like it. Absolutely charming beach house with all the Santa Cruz character and local scene you want to experience and easy access to the more intimate beaches just steps away.

Gorgeous View
Great location, especially if you’re looking to explore Capitola and some of the nearby Santa Cruz locations. Gorgeous views and sunsets and we enjoyed watching the surfers and sea lions each day. Fully stocked kitchen was great. It worked out great for our visit, but didn’t realize the upstairs bedrooms / living area was accessed through a different entrance. Great for two families traveling together but good to know either way. Comfortable beds and nice amenities. If you’re looking for ocean front, this was lovely.

Stunning views, but house needs work
The views were amazing, and the short walk to the beach was awesome. The beach toys on site were super nice. That said, we had to wash all of the dishes before using as they were all dirty. We removed our shoes as instructed, but our feet all turned black from walking around the house. The hot water was scalding, so we had to be on high alert with the kids (and the hot and cold water taps were switched upstairs, which made this especially challenging with little kids). We had to buy paper towels, toilet paper and laundry detergent (no way to wash the towels without), but then found the washing machine was broken. The fire place didn't work, and we didn't want to mess with it as it was super dusty, and there was no fire wood for the fire pit outside. The upstairs wall heaters didn't work and had wires hanging out. The microwave was breaking, and dishwasher and fridge were super rusted out. We tried contacting property management, but received no response.

Great view but otherwise a bit disappointing
What you get with this rental is a great view. But I was otherwise slightly disappointed.
The dishwasher and refrigerator need to be updated or fixed.
The cooking pans -- very old ruined non-stick pans-- need to be replaced.
The cooking knives, although plentiful, don't cut anything but warm butter. ( I exaggerate, but you get the gist.)
The bunk beds are in a very small closet -- I feel that calling it a room with a curtain door is a misrepresentation.
This is really a 3 bedroom unit with other beds curtained off.
It is a very funky beach house. I don't mind funky, but for the money, there needs to be some better amenities. The bedroom situation really did put me off. If you don't plan on doing much cooking and you need only 3 bedrooms, this might be a good place for you.
It is nice to be able to walk to the beach and to watch the surfers at Pleasure Point.

Beautiful View - Beach 5 Houses Away!
We stayed for three days and enjoyed being able to walk right down the street to the beach. House was large enough for eight of us, ages 7 - 76. From the deck we could see the occasional otter and seal. The view was beautiful.
Echoing what others have said, updating the fridge and dishwasher would improve the kitchen. The washing machine is new and more energy efficient.
We had a nice family time there, and would return.

Broken fridge needs new dishwasher
Not totally happy. Cleaning crew was there way after 4:00 checking. They hosed the drive way and walk and that created mud. Fridge door rails missing or broken (patched with duct tape) along with missing one or two shelves and light was out. Dishwasher wheel missing making it almost fall out. Master bath shower needs replacement and the sink clogged up. Some sort of bilge pump runs all night outside the master bedroom. Recliner stopped working when it was 1/2 out, couldn’t make it go in or out. Called initially on the cleanup crew, left a message, never received a return call. For the money, we expected more. Probably would not recommend to family or friends.

Great location, comfortable house
We enjoyed our week in the house and the 2 units worked well for our family. It was comfortable and the decks provided wonderful ocean views including dolphins and otters. There were lots of games and beach towels provided. The beach is walkable, a few houses away (no beach in front) and Capitola is close enough to walk to as well. We would stay again!

Lovely oceanfront house!
We had an absolutely wonderful time at this fantastic oceanfront house. The sound of the waves is amazing! The house was well stocked, clean and had lots of charm. Great location, walking distance to surf, sand, and pleasure point. Nice beach just a few houses away. The owner was also very attentive an responded immediately to our messages. Will definitely be back.

Beautiful place!
We enjoyed our stay very much in this beautiful home. Plenty of room for my family. Lots of towels and blankets. The house supplied everything we need. The view from the house is stunning. Biked to Capitola under 15 minutes. Train ride through the redwoods which was beautiful. There was a lower tiled deck which was perfect for playing corn hole. Would stay here again.
