The High Street Cottage is absolutely wonderful. The interior is clean, and the furnishings and artwork are comfortable -- with the creative addition of vintage pieces mixed with modern convivences. The 2nd bedroom is nicely located at the back of the house, creating a nice separation from the living and main bedroom. The front yard has 2 beautiful old trees for shade, and lawn for sitting. The back yard/deck is an absolute oasis, with outdoor sofas, chaise lounges, and a bubbling water feature. Just walk High Street to the downtown and Shakespeare festivities. Highly recommend!

This was a beautiful, cozy, and exceptionally clean cottage. The perfection location for walking to Lithia Park, downtown shops, restaurants, and the Shakespearean Festival grounds. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Ashland!

I agree with the other reviewers. Elizabeth and Mark are wonderful hosts, and their little slice of heaven was perfect! We had everything we needed and then some. And the patio and garden were lovely. We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful time staying at the High Street Cottage. The backyard was amazing and we enjoyed a few meals together outside. The cottage was clean and the hosts were very responsive to questions during our stay.

Mark and Elizabeth have such a special thing going in Ashland. I’ve never been to a more unique and quaint house rental. Would highly recommend to people visiting Ashland and will definitely stay again.

Charming little cottage located in a great location. Back yard gardens are amazingly beautiful and peaceful. The cottage is quaint with nice little touches throughout that express the host’s tastes and artistic nature. It was very clean and had all of the things we needed for our 3 night stay. Loved , loved, loved it!

This rental is located in a quiet neighborhood and within walking distance to theaters and restaurants. The house was light and airy and very clean. Loved the backyard with its decks, koi pond and garden. The owners, Mark and Elizabeth, were very friendly and easy to work with. I highly recommend High Street Cottage.

We loved our stay here! It was an easy walk into the center of town, down the street from a playground, and the property was charming and super comfortable. Mark and Elizabeth were fabulous hosts (thanks!!!). We would definitely stay here again!

As all of the previous guests have noted there aren't enough words to describe how much thought and care Elisabeth and Mark have but into the design and management of this property. We tried to find something missing in this home (mind you we didn't call it a house) but save for perhaps an apple corer, everything imaginable was there including two very charming hosts. Our guess is the apple corer was out by the apple tree in the beautiful backyard Shangrila! Don't miss out on this one. Ellen

This home is efficiently equipped and beautifully decorated. It has all you could need and more. It's way nicer than it looks in the photos!! Lots of attention to detail.

Beautiful,yet simple, house. Amazing gardens to "pick your own" fresh salads. Fantastic areas to grill and do laundry. Very clean and bright. Great hosts and a perfect location. Walking distance to Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Lithia Park! We'll be back!

High Street Cottage was immaculate and comfortable. It is a great location for the Shakespeare Festival. Elizabeth and Mark are gracious, fun hosts. We loved our stay there.

The cottage has everything one needs: comfortable beds & pillows, well appointed kitchen, interesting artwork everywhere, beautiful garden -- and only ~4 blocks walk from the OSF! I will definately stay here again.

We have had no bad experiences. All our hosts have been friendly and helpful. All the homes have been pleasant and homey. And our judgment never varies. “Nice, but it ain’t the High Street Cottage.” Each year, we arrive at the cottage to find something new. Understated and subtle, or major. Landscaping, interior upgrades, porches. Always changing yet never changing. The comfort of the familiar. We walk through the door and we’re home. Back at our cozy High Street Cottage, with Mark and Elizabeth.

Elizabeth and Mark are fantastic hosts whose wonderful and charming cottage is full of thoughtful touches. I stayed for five nights with my college aged vegan son. We made good use of the well equipped kitchen. The weather was quite cold and rainy, and we had a wonderful time just hanging out in the beautiful space. It is very peaceful and relaxing, with comfortable beds and beautiful views out each window. We were there for the OSF, which was a short walk, or drive, away. We loved our stay and we will be back!

The great 20th century architect, Mies van der Rohe, said “God is in the details.” If Mies was right, and we think he was, then High Street Cottage is Paradise.

Our first trip to Ashland couldn't have been better. We are a family of four, two adults and two teenagers. This house was perfect for the four of us. We had plenty of room, despite it being small. I opened all the doors and nooks and crannies and nothing was not thought of when it comes to hospitality. The homeowners are fantastic hosts! I felt like a family friend. We loved the outdoor seating and trees and flowers and the cool outdoor pond and the awesome outdoor shower and the amazing BBQ area. Oh, and the BEST laundry room I ever did laundry in. I did not want to go back to my home after staying in their beautiful home and on their property. My son loved the pottery studio and little store. I drink coffee every morning out of a great mug Elizabeth made. I also bought gifts for all of my girlfriends from her shop. I wish we had stayed at the house a few more days, that's my only regret! Thank you!!!!

We loved our Thanksgiving stay at the High Street Cottage! It was the cleanest VRBO we have ever rented. The owners were very kind and helpful. It is a wonderful location, and easy walk to downtown.

My partner and I stayed for four wonderful nights at the High Street Cottage. It was a lovely experience, hassle-free, super-clean, and very comfortable. We so enjoyed the large back yard, the grden, and flowers, as well as the friendliness of our hosts. Lots of room, and just like being at home!

Just before Christmas arrives, we go on a trip with our best friends for some R&R. It's always a surprise to all, with 1 person planning the whole trip. My honey, Dave, chose this fabulous cottage as our surprise get away. It was ABSOLUTELY perfect down to the last detail. Elizabeth & Mark thought of everything. We felt welcomed from the moment we stepped across the threshold into this wonderful, warm cottage. We actually didn't want to leave to avail ourselves of the great shopping, art galleries, and fabulous restaurants just a short walk away. Instead, we hunkered down, played games, read, took a few walks, bought gorgeous pottery from Elizabeth, and enjoyed the restaurants she suggested. We truly felt like family. The four of us are ready to tackle the holiday rush with peace & a grateful heart thanks to our stay at the High Street Cottage. Thanks Elizabeth and Mark! We will be back.
