It is close to the city center and it has a nice rooftop.

It was very damp, room had a weird smell, we didn’t feel it was clean, bathroom is shared and we would have nothing against that if it was cleaned properly and daily. After a day it was already a catastrophy. I wouldn’t stay there again.

The furniture started to disassemble itself. There was no chair or wardrobe to hang and dry clothes. The room had no real windows so the aircon had to be on all the time. The bedding and room itself were not pretty much clean. The shared bathroom has not been cleaned for 3 days despite the toilet was out of order for a day and we reported the issue to the owner.

during the night it could turn noisy outside (not because of the hostel but bc of the street and the whole neighbourhood), just to keep in mind if you are a calm person and you choose getsemani for your stay!

Great location, amazing rooftop patio with a great view of the harbor. A very convenient location in a historic part of the city. Marilyn the house keeper was extremely helpful.

Missing toilet seat in one of the shared bathrooms. Bathrooms are very small. This is a party section of the city, my noise canceling headphones came in handy.

The room was as expected for a casa in cartagena. The only complaint is the room smelled of mildew and there was visible mildew on the bathroom walls.

The bed was comfortable, the room had air conditioning which was amazing. Location was great, though it was loud but I think that's just Colombia in general

There was no staff around. Seen someone briefly at check in and at check out but otherwise no sign of them. All the bathrooms ran out of toilet paper and there was no one around to ask

Our room didn’t have a window, but instead had a hole in the wall into the street (with no glass), our room was opposite potentially the noisiest bar in Cartagena and also above the hotels bar next door. Seems like very poor planning, As you can imagine we got bit by many insects due to this but there weee also a disgusting amount of ants in the room. Bathroom was dirty, as was the whole room. Hairs in the supposed clean bed. Check in process was beyond weird, we arrived at the time stated to check in. No-one was there, a random woman finally came into the hotel (there was also no sign outside) and was on the phone for about 20 mins before she finally showed us to our room. Not ideal at all.

The location is wonderful, yes maybe a little loud but that's the point of the Getsemani area. The room was comfortable and the terrace was really nice

As with most properties in Colombia, a hot shower would make it perfect

Location, nobody bother you once i your room.

I feel owner was a bit detached of her duties. The lock in the bathroom broke and my friend and I we paid for unlock the door to the locksmith.

The location was fabulous and as you can see in the pictures it is in a very pretty Instagram worthy place. The room was great and comfortable- the shared bathrooms are small but mostly clean. The water pressure is good but it is cool (not really cold) which was fine as it was so hot.

It is very loud from 9-1am. Parties every night in the bar next door and really loud music which I didn’t mind as I like that Colombian/reggaeton music and can fall asleep anyway. I didn’t like being in the kitchen - it feels like it is their kitchen and you shouldn’t be in there really. I’m not sure if this is true though. Wasn’t very clean and the pan cupboard was hard to open.

The rooftop is a bar so loud music and people walking through building - this wasn't advertised anywhere and unexpected. Hosts weren't there to great us and not very helpful - didn't give us any tips, didn't help us wash clothes and also didn't let us leave bags for a night as we went to an island. Was severely rude as we were going to pay at checkout, but the night before we were meant to leave banged on our door whilst we slept waking us up at 11:30 pm asking for money. We told her we would tomorrow and it was fine, but she woke us up at an hour no host should

We absolutely loved Casa Evelyn. From the moment we arrived we were made feel very welcome. The house is in the most beautiful location in Cartagena. We were amazed. The room was very clean and we felt very safe. The rooftop terrace was gorgeous. A truly special stay!

Location was great in Getsemaní and close to lots of restaurants and bars while still being walking distance to el Centro.

our room was right next to an office for garbage collectors and it got quite noisy early in the morning. it woke us every time, despite earplugs, the sound of the air conditioner, and white noise. bring great earplugs!

Casa Evelyn is an amazing place to stay! Evelyn was super nice and helpful. She always help me around and if I have questions, she’s always there to answer them. The property is clean and close to everything and the staff was always helpful as well. I recommend for travelers to stay at her place.
