Absolutely Awesome, the Captain's Cottage
Das einstöckige Captain's Cottage (SVR-00096) aus dem Jahr 1900 ist ein exquisit dekoriertes Cottage mit 2 Schlafzimmern und 2 Bädern, nur 2 Häuser vom Washington Square entfernt, vielleicht Savannahs schönstem Platz. Von der Veranda überblicken Sie die Straße und sehen das berühmte Pirate's House Restaurant & Tavern. Das Cottage ist mit einer wundervollen Sammlung antiker Antiquitäten sowie komfortablen Möbeln im südlichen Stil eingerichtet. Eines der auffälligsten Merkmale sind die funkelnden Kronleuchter, die im ganzen Haus verteilt sind.
Das Haus verfügt über 2 Schlafzimmer mit Doppelbetten; eines mit eigenem Bad bietet bequem Platz für 4-5 Personen. Jedes Bett ist mit hochwertiger Bettwäsche, Bettdecken und bequemen Kissen bezogen. Das zweite Vollbad verfügt auch über eine neue Frontlader-Waschmaschine und -Trockner mit großer Kapazität. Beide Bäder sind mit üppigen durstigen Handtüchern bestückt.
Das Wohnzimmer verfügt über 2 wunderschöne antike Stühle von Oma Allen, ein bequemes Sofa und einen großen Fernseher. Es gibt 4 dekorative Kamine im ganzen Cottage, um ein wunderbares Ambiente und Charme hinzuzufügen.
Die Küche wurde mit Granit-Arbeitsplatten und allen neuen Geräten aus Edelstahl einschließlich eines großen Kühlschranks, Herd, Mikrowelle und Geschirrspüler renoviert. Die Schränke sind voll ausgestattet mit allem, was Sie zum Kochen und Essen benötigen. My cousin and I enjoyed our stay at the Captain's Cottage on Washington Square in the Savannah Historic District recently. The cottage is so cute and quaint, with all the amenities we could have asked for, provided by our host Charles, who came by to visit with us while we were sitting on the front porch enjoying a glass of wine and the quiet, residential neighborhood. The home is so convenient, being only one block from the riverfront, with plenty of parking right in front, and easy walking distance to everything. We would definitely recommend the Captain's Cottage and will return again. Thank you, Charles, for your wonderful hospitality!

I took my son and his gf plus our little rescue dog for a long weekend. The cottage was perfect in every way for us to enjoy our time on the patio, enjoy the easy walk to everything we wanted to do and see, and Dutch loved walking in the park right outside the front door. Charles was excellent as a host and made communication so easy.

We spent a weekend at the cottage with our visiting out of state family. The cottage was just as pictured in the listing. The bedrooms were comfortable and clean with a closet and hangers. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked with towels and many essentials. The kitchen and laundry had all the needed essentials also!
The cottage was in a wonderful area within walking distance to so many places!
The host was amazing and kept in touch to assure that we had everything that we needed to enjoy our stay. Even when the weather took a turn, Charles made sure we had the information that we needed to be safe.
Will definitely stay here again on a future trip to Savannah.

This is an amazing home. The location could not have been better... we were able to walk to almost everything we did. Great restaurants in the neighborhood.
The home has so much character and was very well stocked. We cooked several meals and the kitchen had everything we needed.

The cottage was amazing. Charles provided all the necessary items for bathroom and kitchen. There were multiple stocks of Barh and Hand towels, toilet paper and paper towels. Most of the condiments were provided in the kitchen. We had no issues at alla d had a great relaxing stay. The fireworks on the river were amazing.

This home was so inviting, cozy, clean, the perfect location to all restaurants, parks and museums. The host was was so kind, engaging, knowledgeable of the history of Savannah as well as giving suggestions on places to visit. I would rate this a 10 out of 10 and cannot wait to visit again. Where do I begin - this cottage has it all! I rented this VRBO as an alternative to the hotel room block that was offered for a recent conference I attended at the Savanahh Mariott Riverfront. The location to not only River Street, but also Washington Square and others was ideal. The street is quaint and safe and quiet and lovely! My husband, two daughters, and two dogs joined me, and we all felt so comfortable and happy in the space. Charles stocks the cottage with EVERYTHING! It is so clean and so ready upon arrival. Thinks of it all! We were really wishing we had extended our stay past the conference, but we will be back! Thank you so much!

This was perfect for everyone in our party! Zero complaints from our teenage daughters who loved the walkability this location provided. Charles went out of his way to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. The furniture, especially the beds, were super comfortable. All necessary items were there for our use--paper products, toiletries, linens, etc. Thank you Charles & Faye for a fantastic stay!

We absolutely loved this cottage. It was well appointed and beautifully furnished. The location was great. We were by one of the squares and spent many evenings there chatting with locals. This was our first time staying on the east end of the historic district and it will not be our last. We were concerned about the availability of on street parking but that wasn't an issue at all, there was always plenty of parking. I highly recommend this cottage!

Property very clean and even cuter in person! Location was perfect! Walkable and close to everything we wanted. Quiet and safe neighborhood. All the amenities available to make for easy stay. Nice linens, pots and pans, dishes, etc.
Charles sweetly texted to check on us throughout our stay. He reached out early about a potential issue (which ended up not being a problem anyway.). He was willing to flexible and helpful. Would happily stay again!

The property could not have been more perfectly located to enjoy all that Savannah has to offer and had everything we needed and more. Charles was communicative and helpful with all of our needs. While we were not planning to cook on our relatively short (2-night) stay, there were ample cooking, eating, and drinking essentials had we been planning for a week or more. We were also impressed with the app-based parking available in Savannah (ParkSavannah). It was simple and intuitive. We will be back for more!

The propery was as described. It was very clean but after we took our belongings in we discovered bed bugs on the bed skirt. We were so disgusted we had to hurry and get our things out fast. I called the owner who lived across the street and he came over and apologized and offered to call a friend to see if we could stay somewhere else. At this point we were not sure if we had any on our stuff so we had to just go home. We had to cut our vacation short because of it. We are not very happy and probably wont be renting with VRBO again.

The listing and pictures are completely accurate in describing this house. This suited our family of four perfectly.
We ran to Kroger, about 1.5 miles away, and grabbed some groceries for snacks and light breakfasts. The kitchen was adequately stocked with everything we needed - toaster, coffee pot, dishes.
The house is over 100 years old and the house is everything you would expect - creaky, layers of paint, and beautiful moldings/details. I appreciated the modern kitchen and bathroom though.
Charles was great in emailing us ahead of our arrival with information about our stay. When we arrived we had an issue getting into the house; it was 100% user error. Charles ran over within 2 minutes to help us and we didn't any issues after that. I text him one other time during our stay and he was quick to respond then too. He also provided us a courtesy text to remind us of the street sweepers that would be coming through overnight so not to park on that side of the street.
Parking was never an issue for us. We both drove and walked to our various destinations. I did find the website to be the easiest option for paying the meters and allowed for 15 minute increments.
The house is at the end of the Riverwalk, so perfect to start or end there and walk to the other end, then head back down one of the other streets. The trolley picks up across the street in front of The Pirate's House so that was convenient if you use the hop-on/hop-off trolley.

We loved the property. All details were covered. Perfect for our girls trip. The 2 bedrooms are so nice with 2 baths too, which is a rare find. Great location, furnishings, linens, kitchen, everything was in perfect order.
I highly recommend the property for any occasion. We plan on staying again in the future if Charles will have us.

Our host did it all. Everything was ready and complete. All use details were clearly explained and right on target. The location was perfect as we walked throughout the Historic District. That to the instructions and Park Savannah App parking was a breeze. This won’t be the last time we visit.

If you want to be close to everything in the historic section of Savannah, yet prefer a very quiet area, this is the place to vacay.
The house is clean and comfortable, very well decorated in the southern style - it even has chandeliers in every room - including bathrooms, and has a kind and attentive owner.
I can't say enough great things - there isn't enough space in this review box, or I'd go on, and on, and on.

We could not have imagined a better place to stay during our visit to Savannah! The house was perfect in every way. The location, the amenities, the prompt responses from Charles when we had a question, and the decor and feel of the house was authentic to this historical city.
We highly recommend this place! It’s in walking distance to everything. The neighborhood felt incredibly safe when walking home late at night, which was so nice when visiting a new place.

Quaint lovely home decorated beautifully. A very fun place and close to the River market area and the Hop On Hop Off Trolley stops. We stopped by the Bryan Street parking garage and bought a parking pass good for all the days of our stay. Parked in front of the house and never moved the car. Bought the 2 day Trolley pass and used that for our transportation.
Highly recommend this house. Charles was always available and a gem.

This was our second stay in Savannah and by far the best The cottage was perfect. Very clean, the host contacted us the first night to make sure everything was okay and to not hesitate if we needed them, and everything was there for our use. We were allowed to bring our pups and the square/park was two houses down and that was wonderful. The house is within walking distance of everything and we left the car parked outside the house the entire time. We would stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place.

Safe neighborhood. Easy walking to everything. Felt safe. Owner was very helpful and attentive with questions. Cottage was well-stocked with equipment and supplies. If you are OK with queen size beds, this is a great choice.

The Captain’s Cottage property was clean, had all the amenities one would need for a stay, and was centrally located within walking distance to much of what Savannah has to offer. Granted, we like to walk and explore (aka grab cocktails) as we go - but we walked down through and past Forsyth Park to 40th St without issue.
Charles was responsive with all communications and reached out to ensure we were enjoying our stay.
When we decide to revisit Savannah I will undoubtedly be looking into again staying at The Captain’s Cottage.
