The Best Alaskan Get Away Retreat For Your Family Or Group

We loved this house and didn't want to leave. The porch with the view was incredible!!! My daughter also wanted to take home the St. Bernard! The house was fabulous, and we would have liked to have stayed about 2 more weeks and cook in the kitchen and enjoy family time in the family room. We appreciate your hospitality so much!!

Our family of 6 stayed in this lovely home for one week. It was the perfect home base for all of our excursions. It is about 20 minutes from downtown Anchorage, which means it is very quiet! The beds are comfy, and the sheets are soft as butter! I have insomnia but I slept so well in Alaska! The home is nicely appointed with necessities and the host is prompt to reply and provide help. I was so impressed with the care the owner gave us. We would absolutely recommend staying.

We stayed at this property for a few days as a base for exploring the area. The house was top notch in comfort and convenience. The views are absolutely unbelievable. So many extras were furnished for our stay- soaps, coffee filters and creamers, paper goods, etc. we really appreciated those touches. Highly recommend this rental!!

We had our best family vacation ever, and this home was the perfect place for our 3 generations to stay! It was not just clean and comfortable, our host made sure we had everything we needed. When our incoming flight was delayed by 14 hours, she made sure that we not only had amazing coffee and tea set ups, but breakfast essentials too. She went above and beyond for us.
The views were unbelievable, with both water and mountains. In the course of the stay, we saw moose and a bear family on the mountain. The family saint Bernard was also such a welcome addition! We loved her so much!
Our family will return to Anchorage and we honestly can’t imagine staying anywhere else. Thank you for sharing your home.

If you are busy researching where to stay during your Alaskan adventure, look no further. This is a beautiful, spacious, clean and comfortable house. The view is stunning both day and night. The house is conveniently located to Anchorage and to grocery and staple shopping. It also makes a central base to take day trips, with Hope, Seward, and Talkeetna all within a 2-3 hour drive. The house comfortably slept 8 adults and teens and a toddler with room to spare. We highly recommend.

This home was perfect for our family (3 generations, 9 people). Listing and pictures are very accurate. The home is clean and spacious and the views are absolutely incredible. Our only downside (not a fault of the owner) is that is takes 20 minutes minimum to get anywhere due to being up in the hills. The views make up for it! Just an FYI for consideration on what you hope to do from the house.
We saw black bears roaming around and a moose just up the hill. The toys provided were awesome for the kids and we loved the huge dining table to be able to eat together with space for everyone.

We had a group of 9 stay at the home. There was plenty of room and it was very nice for us. The views are amazing. We had originally booked the entire week and then shortened to a couple days to stay in other towns. That was a mistake, we should have spent the entire week here and did day trips to the other locations. This is a very nice property and I would rent again.

This property is everything you could want. Plenty of space for multiple families, very clean, great outside area/deck, and amazing views! Only a short drive to Anchorage for supplies and restaurants and very convenient to the Steward highway. Owner was great to deal with. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing accommodations for a large group.

100% Comfort zone!
So many different spaces made this the perfect place for a weird mix of acquaintances, friends and family to stay for a week while in Anchorage for a summer wedding. Alone time, quiet time, game time and party time could all happen simultaneously. And the deck views are amazing!

Gwen Adams provided our family (6 adults, 3 children) with the best possible experience during our stay in Anchorage. The view is spectacular. Our three grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed playing games in the separate media room. Thank you for making our visit a wonderful memory!

Nice vacation Rental
My family and I stayed here and absolutely loved it. The house is clean and in a great location; plenty of room for 12+. 3 full baths so easy for large groups. Really close to the Anchorage attractions and we enjoyed our stay.

Fabulous
We greatly enjoyed our stay here during our first trip to Alaska. The house has all the space our two family group needed, with stunning views and easy access to town in a quiet neighborhood. We saw two moose very first morning!

Great, spacious house with unbelievable view.
Wonderful getaway home with plenty of room for a large family. We stayed with 9 comfortably. View is unreal! Gwen is so helpful! A bit of a drive out of the city but worth it. Still explored the city and close to hiking trails. The deck, grill and fire pit round out a great stay! Highly recommended if you want space with a view!

Atop the Bear Hills of Anchorage
Gwen's place has spectacular views of anchorage and the amenities for a large group(10+) like ours needed to survive for a half-week stay. She is also very communicative and helpful, giving us things as we needed them throughout the week. She even helped us retrieve a forgotten item and was very sweet about the situation. I hope everyone else that stays at bear valley gets the same feeling and weather we did during our stay!

Beautiful view
We enjoyed our stay, the highlight was definitely the deck and amazing view. Kitchen was fully equipped and it was nice that some staples were there to use. Gwen was extremely responsive and resolved any questions right away. My only feedback would be that it would have been nice to have blinds on all windows and doors for bedrooms. Just a couple weren’t covered. Otherwise, definitely recommend the house and the property owners and the house was as described!

Excellent family gathering
Absolutely an amazing stay. We went to Whittier, Exit Glacier. Seward was my favorite. Climbing Alyeska past the tram was absolutely gorgeous. Hiked the little peaks at Turnagain Arm. The beauty of Alaska is majestic. Absolute MUST see ❤️

Spectacular Views!
Great base camp for our crew! Traveled North to Glacierview, Hatcher Pass, Wasilla & Palmer. Traveled South to Seward, Girdwood & Whittier. Location provided awesome wildlife viewing right from the deck, Moose. Black Bear, Brown Bear & porcupine. The owners were fantastic, providing great knowledge of the area, setting bonfires and s’mores! We highly recommend the house, even though we are in the Anchorage area. This area is far enough out that you do not feel like you are in Anchorage.

Breathtaking
Property was beautiful. View was breathtaking and we even got to see a mama bear and her two cubs while we were standing on the deck! We saw Moose daily while driving to and from the house too! Gwen was amazing and called to check on us after the earthquake too.

To be able to re-visit your birthplace after 70 years is definitely an amazing dream come true.
This wonderful home comfortably accommodated all thirteen family members of our 3-generation party.
The fantastic location let us conveniently explore Anchorage, Palmer, Portage, Seward and Whittier while bicycling, deep sea fishing, flight seeing, hiking, segway touring and shopping.
