Our stay on Plum Island was wonderful. The home was beautiful. It had everything we needed and was exceptionally clean. It was easy to reach out to Edward and he was very responsive. I would stay here again.

The cabin is charming. I love the high ceilings it makes the small size seem larger, light and airy. The skylights are very effective in bringing in light as well. I like the little yard and would spend time there if it weren't winter. The Parker River Wildlife reserve is open daily, and I would go out to the different trails often. Newburyport is the town where my grandfather spent his youth so exploring was fun. It is easy to get to New Hampshire and Maine to experience the scenery, parks and towns in the surrounding areas. I would recommend staying here to discerning families but especially to solo travelers like myself. AAAPlus

The cottage is charming. It has a small footprint but does not feel claustrophobic because the ceilings are high and there are large windows and skylights. It is adjacent to the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge. I go out there often to walk the boardwalks and beach areas. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and pans to do most cooking projects. Altogether a lovely experience.

My husband and I came for a short stay and Edward was a great host. The cottage itself was well kept and impeccably clean. Edward was also very responsive and offered to help if we needed suggestions on things to do. Due to a family emergency, we had to cut short our stay and had to leave on a very short notice and Ed was very considerate and understanding. We are frequent guests to Newbury and Newburyport and I must say this was another memorable cottage and experience. I also had a chance to meet the neighbors and they were welcoming warm and friendly. We plan to come back to this cottage and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND to anyone wanting a great host and quaint cottage. We had the most amazing week in Edward's Cottage.The house was super cozy, cute and very well appointed.The location was perfect and we were able to walk everywhere, including to the beach. We had a magical week and we're already looking forward to our stay next summer.

This was my 4th year in a row at the delightful Plumtucket Cottage. I think I'm in a rut, and I like it! The walk to the beach is approximately 2 minutes, so if the weather suddenly turns beachy, you can pounce. The cottage is quiet, spectacularly clean, and well-appointed. The cottage neighbors are very nice, and I feel so safe and relaxed there. Each night, the trees are lit from below, like a magical soft green mist. Have yourself a clambake at Bob Lobster to really get "in the zone". Buy Avon Skin So Soft to keep green flies away (there weren't that many).

This cute cottage is Incredibly peaceful and quiet and in a wonderful location steps from the beach. It is clean and uncluttered with vaulted ceilings, many windows and a cozy fireplace. One thing that few people have mentioned…this cottage is on plum island and access to one of the world’s premiere birding beaches and salt marshes is phenomenal - bring your binoculars and expect to be wowed! We saw many many rare birds, including the piping plover - a highly protected indicator species - only 4000 or less left in the world!

The owner was very nice and apologetic about no washer (not working). We had to bring our own linen. The real issue with this place is the "generator" noise. There was a constant noise which made it difficult to sleep. Not sure what this was but came from inside/above bedroom area. Otherwise, the accommodations are very nice. I would not stay here if more tan two people as it is small.

I enjoyed another stay at this beautiful property. It is nicely furnished and so comfortable. The beach is a block away. I spent lots of time exploring at the wildlife refuge. Neighbors are great. Landlord is very responsive and caring. You will never find a better property to relax and enjoy nature.

This was our second visit to the cottage. The property has everything you need for a beach vacation. Property is a 3 minite walk to the the beach, offers a very quite environmentat night and is equiped complete for all your housing needs. HIghly recommend this for couples who want a beach getaway.

The property is so much more than the pictures show! Ed was always readily available.

The quaintness is unsurpassed. Convenient to the beach, just 200 steps away. Quiet little “village” of six units but this is the only rental. Meticulous and well appointed.

Plumtucket is a very special place. The cottage is a little gem of perfection. The grounds are magical, especially at night when bunnies dart about the white shell pathways in the shadow of a magical tree.

How often can you say that the place you stayed in exceeded the owner's description or the ambiance portrayed in their photos? On arrival at the cottage we were met by a wild, yet blasé, bunny who kept munching on the emerald green grass that surrounds the cottage, his presence said, "Welcome, there is magic here." Imagine a one floor cottage that by all rights should feel small inside but instead feels expansive and airy with its: cathedral ceilings; two magnificent ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom; skylights and windows aplenty so that no matter the weather outside the interior is light-filled, airy and breezy. Edward's Placid Cottage offers every amenity imaginable and the kitchen was perfect for all of our meals...of course we treated ourselves here and there ( I highly recommend Bob's Lobster shack which has the best Lobster rolls I've ever eaten.) As a couple we love quiet and peaceful spaces, which was our experience for the whole week. A welcome surprise were the neighbors in the other cottages who were very friendly, and equally, respectful of letting us feel as if we were were the only cottage on the property. Once you "live" in a place you start to notice all the little details that the owner took great care in adding, I got a great kick out of the bathroom faucet, seriously!! as the water flowed from its open design like a waterfall! We knew we would I would fall in love with the natural beauty of Plum Island, but to feel that way about the cottage too was unexpectedly lovely. As a host Edward is extremely accessible, friendly, and responsive. We could not ask for a better experience than we had with him. We are truly hoping spend another week in Placid Cottage next summer. Cheers, India and Jim.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in this cute cottage a block from the beach. Everything was as pictured. It rained for quite a few days during our stay. Most of our time was spent indoors. It would've been awesome to have had a smart tv to cast our favorite standing apps. Overall, it was great. Cute place to spend a week or so. We really enjoyed ourselves

This was a perfect place to stay during our wedding weekend. Family and friends stayed nearby and we spent a wonderful weekend together walking Plum Island and coming back to a beautiful, clean, quiet cottage.

Even though my husband was in rehab, I had a very nice place to return to each evening.

Small but well lit, maintained and appointed 2013 cottage outstanding with high ceilings, fireplace, quality construction in great location 1 block from beach access. Ideal for singles and couples.

We really enjoyed our stay. Perfect spot, lovely collection of cottages. The place looked as posted with everything needed for time away. No complaints, would definitely rent again.
