If you want a relatively quiet place ,with a little social mix every other day of the week during pizza night that isnt too loud and crazy, then come here! Absolutely lovely place, massive dorm room with multiple toilets and showers in the room, comfy beds, can hear the sound of the waves at night. The location is right on the beach. Very clean, beds extremely comfortable and made everyday, kitchen well equipped. I could have easily stayed here for weeks! Best location on Playa Guasacaste!

There weren't many working lockers (due to missing keys) i hope the owner will fix the locker situation soon. The pots and pans in the kitchen could use an upgrade, scrubbing those were an extra job!!

Really nice place on the beach. Very chilled vibe. Pizza night brings a crowd and a lovely atmosphere. Can walk to beginners bay in about 20 mins (may have to swim across the river though at high tide). Comfy room and nice little kitchen. The owner was very helpful.

There was not always someone of the staff available. For example when they were surfing. This was a bit inconvenient.

A really great place to stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the place is kept spotlessly clean, the kitchen is very well equipped and the value for money is super great. Pizza nights on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday are not to be missed! The owner Ale is a really great dude who will go out his way for you, whether it be to get you to your next spot or take you out for a surf, good vibes here 🤙

Staff is superfriendly, Alejo is cool and he will help you out with anything you need. The place is lovely, quiet and right at the beach. The dorm is one of the nicest i‘ve been for a long time, so much space and really clean. The kitchen is well equiped and also clean. We had a great stay!

The main issue is the owner, too party crazy, inappropriate stories about women, disrespectful to his staff, would never want to give him my money again.

Alejandro is a warm, helpful and refreshingly honest host. Dogs are the best. Center beachfront location, everything walking distance. Private rooms clean and roomy. Great morning coffee. Workout bar. Surf boards of high quality. If you can’t get a room here come over anyway and get something from the bar/restaurant to take in the vibe. Perfect 10 no discussion.

Addictive and hard to leave

Popoyo is a piece of paradise and Escondite Pacifico the perfect place to stay.. Unpretentious yet comfortable. Food was delicious and staff helpful and friendly. Our host, Alejo, treated us more like freinds than paying guests.What more could you ask for.

Nothing not to like

- Location is awesome, directly at the beach - property is beautiful and well maintained - staff is laid back and friendly - Sunday’s Open mic night is fun - very cute dogs - bed in dorm very comfortable with mosquito net - heaps of comfy seatings

- dorm is really dark (no windows) - walls of dorm are large wooden sticks, where sand gets blown through directly into my bed + on my stuff - dorm therefore is rather dusty and sandy - paying for tap water is not cool - the 8$ dinner was heavily overpriced
