Wonderful

Lovely location with views directly to water and water access across neighborhood road with little traffic. Quality linens,comfortable mattresses and furniture, modern appliances. Many personal touches for a homey feel. Well priced for area. Good location for walkers; quick access to large, clean, white sand beach. New Harbor is one of our favorite areas with good hiking, eating, and shopping options nearby.

We enjoyed staying in Pemaquid. There are plenty of walks in the conservation areas and its a short hop into Damariscotta or Boothbay. Thomas and Laurie have a beautiful rental in a terrific location. the water is directly accross the road with a seating area for water watching. Their cottage was very clean and comfortable. We found everything we needed. The Kitchen was well equipped. This would be easy to stay in for an extended period of time. Thomas and Laurie were responsive to our requests and available during our stay. This is easily one of the nicest VRBO stays we have had.

We loved our stay here. It was an uncrowded and very scenic part of Maine. The house was clean and met the needs for the two of us.

The view WAS great, but access to the water was at our own risk, as stated orally by the owner as well as being included in the information sheets in the cottage itself. That view, by the way, will be greatly reduced after a house in progress across the street is completed next spring/summer. The space in the house itself was bright, roomy, and accommodating, with a lovely screened porch. Reading and just sitting out there was a pleasure. The "occasional slight odor of sulphur" from the water was neither occasional nor slight; both were unpleasant constants. We're very glad we enquired about the well water in advance and chose to bring our own water. We would not have enjoyed or wanted to drink the smelly water, safe as it was claimed to be (and I have no reason to doubt this). Walking was lovely, with varied walks to take. And finally, having to take our garbage to the transfer station as we left town was certainly doable, but totally unexpected and required care in packing the car for travel. We also had to ask in the office to determine where to put our garbage, because other containers for glass, plastic, etc. were clearly marked. We would have appreciated having had that information provided in advance, which would have been considerate of the owners.

The property was immaculate and beautiful. Unfortunately due to a medical emergency we had to leave early. I would book again for next year.

This was our first time visiting this part of Maine and the Summer House at Bayberry Cove in New Harbor turned out to be a perfect place to stay. The cottage is updated and nicely decorated. It had everything we needed. Thomas was most welcoming and gave us some great tips about local eating places and things to do. We found we were very well situated for exploring the beauty of the area. Whether you like to be out in nature, see the coast and lighthouses, explore picturesque towns or just relax, staying at this cottage makes all that possible.

Beautiful property and excellent home owners. Home is a year-round home and not a cottage. Immaculate with everything you need to enjoy a peaceful vacation. We rented this lovely home last summer and it was our go-to rental this summer and anticipate it will be for the foreseeable future. Perfect location on a dead-end road and walking distance to Pemoquid Beach. Short drive to the Pemoquid Lighthouse Park and so many other beautiful sites. Highly recommend the Handy Boat Ferry in New Harbor 5 minutes away to visit Monhegan Island where you can hike over 4 miles of trails. One of the more peaceful and stress free vacations you will enjoy!

This was my second time renting The Summerhouse, but this time with friends. They enjoyed the experience too! Such a great location for taking day trips, and for anyone who walks, runs, or bikes. So nice to rent from people with such high standards.

Beautiful venue with very responsive hosts who made it clear that they wanted us to feel at home. Morning coffee on the screened in porch with views of the ocean…..priceless!

This property and its owners are consistenly the best. House was immaculate, as where the grounds. Owners take great pride in keeping the property updated and in great repair. Not much more to say other than our stay was excellent and the property perfect.

This was our second stay and we had another fabulous time! Thomas and Laurie are absolutely wonderful hosts! Each time we have stayed they have given us more recommendations for beautiful, off-the-beaten-path places to explore. They are nearby and so helpful with anything you might need. We have grown to love the area. It is the epitome of peace, quiet and tranquility. The cottage is incredibly comfortable, well-stocked, impeccably clean, and immaculate. Its location directly across the street from the ocean offers great views. The private oceanfront access and Adirondack chairs are the perfect place to relax, read a book, or enjoy a glass of wine…just steps from the cottage. We look forward to returning next year. This place is pure magic! Thank you Thomas & Laurie!

We loved everything about this cottage! First off, the view is much more impressive than in the photos, a large picture window in the living room allows you to watch the waves crash, the lobster boats putter about, and the crystal blue main skies change color. The place was so clean and felt both cozy and spacious, we loved open concept kitchen+dining+living area especially. Tom was warm and welcoming and explained all we need to know, and since he lived up the road was always available should we need him but gave us complete privacy. We spent many an evening taking a walk along the quiet road

Great house on quiet street (dead end). Open floor plan made it feel spacious and lots of windows gave great views of bay and sunsets! Screened in porch and open front balcony were great for morning coffee/ afternoon tea. Lots of quaint shops in nearby Damriscota. Close to parks, forts, lighthouses and rocky beaches to explore. Got to see a lobster boat pull in his catch right in front of the cottage!... Loved it! Only downfall is limited space for parking, but our small car worked out fine. Must be able to do stairs to enter cottage. We would stay again.

The house was beautiful and cozy, all the pictures are accurate. The view is amazing and it is located within a half hour to hour drive of many hiking points of interest and coastal points. The hosts were very communicative and helpful and accessible over the phone. My only suggestion would be if you like to cook to bring your own knife set, it was very difficult to cook with what was provided. Other than that minor thing everything else in the house was adequate for whatever your needs are: comfy couches, spacious kitchen, balcony, TV, internet, etc.

This is simply the best, there is not much more to say! Go and have a wonderful time there, as I did. I will for certain return there myself. You will hardly find a lovelier cottage and nicer hosts as they are.

The Summer House is a lovely cottage in an ideal location. The cottage is attractively furnished and decorated, and it features a beautiful open kitchen, a living/dining room with fabulous views of John’s Bay, and two cozy bedrooms. The screen porch is a restful spot for lounging and listening to the surf, and the hosts have set up Adirondack chairs and a bench for guests’ use directly across the road, next to the water. It’s a wonderful place for sipping your morning coffee or unwinding with a glass of wine at the end of the day as you take in the sunset. Hosts Laurie and Thomas are friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and respond promptly to questions. I can’t imagine a more delightful vacation rental!

Coastal Maine is gorgeous...and so is Bayberry Cottage! The listing and the photos are exact depictions of the cottage and the ocean just a few steps across the street. This is no rustic rental! Every comfort is provided--fully equipped kitchen (even a crock pot!),luxurious hotel quality towels, fine bedding, beach chairs, etc. The cottage welcomes you through the lovely screen porch with wicker furniture and flowers-a perfect place to enjoy the morning sun. Stepping inside to the open-concept kitchen/dining/living area invokes a feeling of peace and calm, with lovely soft colors and loads of natural light poring in from the large windows and sliders to the front deck with ocean views. The recessed lighting throughout creates a lovely ambiance--a very nice touch! The fully equipped kitchen includes a perfectly-sized drawer dishwasher. The large, immaculate bathroom has a large vanity with plenty of space for all your toiletries. Perfect for peaceful slumber, the 2 bedrooms have super comfortable, plush, beds. A very nice touch is the foldable luggage rack in each bedroom (like the ones in hotels). These make reaching into suitcases much easier, at the appropriate height (rather than having them on the floor). Another well thought out amenity is the charging stations in each bedroom. Satellite TV and Netflix (with your subscription) are available on the large TV. But you'll definitely want to spend a lot of time outdoors, exploring Pemaquid Trail and the local area! The yard of the cottage is very private and the Weber gas grill (pristinely clean) is perfect for grilling up summer favorites. Adirondack chairs across just across the street at the ocean are perfect for relaxing while watching the boats going in and out of the harbor. The street with gorgeous ocean views is very popular for walkers, runner, and cyclists. Pemaquid beach, with its pristine white powder sand (almost unheard of on Maine's rocky coastline), is a walk away through trails in the woods or a short drive to the parking area. Pemaquid Trail is a hidden gem, peaceful and quiet. Everyone you pass will greet you and even wave if passing by in a car. There is much to explore in the area and Damriscotta is a short dive away and has everything you may need (grocery stores, shopping, and an adorable Main St. with the original Reny's (Reny's Underground) and shops worth exploring.

We had a lovely and peaceful stay at the Summer House. The beds were comfortable; the view of the ocean was healing ; the house was very clean and quiet. The hosts have thought of every detail to make one's stay perfect. The neighborhood was very nice, with the beach right around the corner. The Summer House is a find that one doesn't want to share.. We will be back! The Smiths

We had a great week on Pemaquid Trail and loved the rental property. It was a perfect location with a great view of the water from the screened-in porch or the deck. We would definitely come back.

Beautiful small home perfect for our two week stay. Clean quiet convenient allowing us access to our favorite acticities of beach and kayaking. The owners very obviously take pride and great care in providing a quality rental and we would definitely recommend.

Nice week at this pretty, pristine place. Great location - especially if you like to walk. One of the prettiest kitchens I’ve ever seen. Love the colors. The whole area is remarkably beautiful. Absolutely recommend it.
