Die Gardenia Villa ist mit 4 Schlafzimmern, 2 Küchen und einem großen privaten Gartenpool mit einem sprudelnden Whirlpool, geräumigen Balkonen und Terrassen mit vielen Terrassenstühlen und -tischen, einer Außendusche und einem Grillgrill besonders beliebt bei Familien.

In der Nähe können Sie stilvoll im Palm's Café am Strand speisen, das köstliche gegrillte Garnelen-Tacos und Ambrosia-Desserts bietet. Ebenfalls einen Block entfernt befindet sich das familienfreundliche, ungezwungene Restaurant Padre Island Brewing Co. mit großartigem Service, hausgemachtem Bier und einigen der besten Cerviche der Insel. It's such a wonderful house for a family getaway, boasting the most ideal location just a block away from the beach.
The bathroom could use a bit of updating for better ventilation.
Overall, it would easily be a 5-star spot if it weren't for the sewage smell in the downstairs bathroom and a whole day without internet!
I would definitely return here, solely for the amazing atmosphere and location!

If your looking for the idea spot to have a stress free South Padre Island Vacation, this is it!
The things we most appreciated were that each couple (4) had their own room and own bathroom. Plus a spacious living room/kitchen area. The location, just a short walk to the beach. And, then after a long day in the salt water and sand, you can come back and spend a relaxing evening in the pool! Everyone said it was the perfect location and place to stay. Thanks!

This place was above our expectation. Two separate entrances for the top and bottom, own spaces. A great fenced/private backyard for our pets. A walk across the street to the beach or soak and sun in your own private pool.

The only constructive criticism is that the baseboards and cabinet fronts in downstairs unit could use a deep cleaning. Overall, the property was clean and well kept. Our family had a fantastic stay, and especially enjoyed the pool. The outdoor shower was wonderful for cleaning off the sand after the beach, and quite regressing.

Our family takes annual trip to the island. SPI is such a special place. The house was clean and functional. Great location, a few steps and the gulf is there to greet you. The hot tub and pool is amazing and was highly used. The house has an odd set-up, walking through the front door to see two queen beds was weird. We had to figure out the best person for that room. We used the backyard gate to go upstairs and not disturb the person sleeping in the front room. The upstairs area is nice and roomy. The fireworks can be seen from the outside balcony. The family was satisfied with the house. The owner Judy was very responsive and nice. The management company was also easy to work with. All beds were comfortable and having the beach towels and wash/dryer was perfect. Overall everything was awesome. I recommend, updated furniture and paint. The downstairs sofa was not comfortable and bedroom dresser is old and tired. The exterior of the house needs paint to freshen up the look. A big thank you to Judy & the management company for an easy and beautiful stay on the island. Can’t wait to go back!!

Wonderful location right across the street from the beach. Two kitchens and living areas very helpful for multiple families. Wish there was a table though. Only a long bar upstairs which worked especially for cooking and serving. Hot Tub is fun too!!

Convenient to beach access #14 with views of gulf from balconies. Pool is great entertainment for families. Large open living / kitchen upstairs works well for large groups, but kitchen could use updated pots & pans. The updates that have been made are nice. Overall, pricey for the quality.

the upstairs area was spacious and lovely. the downstairs is a little dark and musty, significantly smaller kitchen and living area so using the pullout couch is tight and feels cramped. the pool and hot tub were great, but realize it is in on a busy street so not super private.
I would stay in the upstairs area again, but not downstairs.

This location was perfection directly across the street from easy to walk on beach access. amazing sunrise view . The back yard was almost like being in a secluded area, away from everyone else because of the landscaping around the pool. the house had everything you need for all guests. four restrooms was perfect for everyone to get ready at the same time. The pool was nice and warm and not too deep. kitchens are well equipt. We enjoyed everything about it. we will be back

Decent for the money. The down stairs portion of the house had a smell coming from the shower drain. Couches we not very comfortable due to them being sleeper sofas. The pool/hot tub was amazing and kept clean.

The place is a little old and run-down, but they've clearly done some work on it (the upstairs showers have been recently redone, for instance) and it's clean and usable. The pool is wonderful, and the location can't be beat. Good stay overall for a large group, including everyone from a toddler to kids to teens to adults to a senior citizen and a couple of dogs.

The pool was recently resurfaced as well. The downstairs stayed hot, so fans for each bedroom would have been appreciated. We ran out if trash bags, toilet paper, and paper towels. We were there 7 days, so maybe for longer stays they can put more out.

The outside stairs to the upper unit are 3", first step, 7 1/4" remaining mid steps with a 10" top step to the upper landing. Unbelievably, I was bruised and sore with a good crack to the skull, but ok. Stairs are 7" continuous to code. That was day 1. Interior is worn and tires, kitchen cabinets have gaps between sections, old, tired. The pots and pans, which were very few were warped and scratched. No real utensils. Downstairs had two forks in total, so they bought silverware. The electrical was a nightmare. Turn the pool on, breakers flip off. Then the electrical just goes off, after the breakers cool down you can flip it back on but the box is hot. This was a regular thing the first two weeks.
I called Sim who was managing for the owner. He busted his butt trying to make things right. He bought us two sets of copper cookware, a vaccum, 2 mops and buckets and responded to every text or call.
The electricity was corrected on a Monday, we had no power for part of the day, but we were compensated by the owner for our lunch out. I certainly know that the owner actually paid for the other items including the candles that we purchased.
I would suggest that the owner have a few more basics in the house. Mixing bowls, a mixer, more than 1 kitchen towel and dish cloths. I am going back next year for multiple months but will not rent there again. I'm sure the owner is very nice, as is Sim the manager, but the house needs some TLC and upgrades.

Watch out for the top step as its overly large and tripped members of my party. Also, (as noted in the ad), the stairs are outside so when it rained hard it was inconvenient to go between levels to spend time with family.
As for cleanliness, the high touch areas (counters, etc) were cleaned by maid. However, deep clean (spring clean type stuff) doesn't appear to be addressed frequently enough.
The heated pool was wonderful and we enjoyed it very much. However it took the property manger 4 days (and 5 visits from pool guys) to get the heat up and running. But then the hot tub constantly emptied itself - pool guy said something was broken.
The property manager did send service people quickly.
We rented for a month and wish we would have understood better prior to booking that we were paying for proximity to the beach not necessarily comfortability of the house.

The upper unit is completely separate from the lower so you need to go outside to get up or downstairs. This house, unfortunately, left a lot to be desired. Upon arrival, the pool had a ton of sand left in it, was a little green, and the jacuzzi portion didn’t even have water in it. The management company did come out to address this pretty quickly but because of the strong chemical smell we weren’t able to use the pool until the next day.
The linens were clean and fresh but countertops/bathrooms were a bit dingy and dirty. The dishes all had to be re-washed before use. Also be warned that the downstairs room with two queens isn’t a typical bedroom. There is a curtain instead of a door between the room and the kitchen, and the door from the street opens right into the room, which isn’t obvious from the photographs. Another odd thing upstairs is there is no dining room table, only the kitchen counter, which is clear in the pictures so that is our fault for not realizing.
From a safety standpoint, there is only one fire alarm upstairs and one downstairs (which wasn’t even put up/didn’t have batteries). The upstairs living room has only lamps so is super dark, and there were several lights that were out or didn’t work, including on the deck. A lot of the plugs were unusable as cords would just fall out and the boards on the stairs were loose in spots. The location is great and so close to the beach, I only wish they had focused more on upkeep and safety.

We had a family get together. First time back to the beach in 15 years!! It was the perfect weekend from beginning to end!! The house was a perfect location to the beach! The pool was a plus!! My grandchildren are ready to go again!! We will definitely stay here again!!

Great location and pool
Loved the location and property. The pool was great, check in and out was easy. Property was mostly in good shape some cosmetics could be addressed and some sticker burrs up front. The upper unit is completely separate from the lower so you need to go outside to get up or downstairs. Great location!
When we were standing in the ocean, we could actually see the side of the house! We could also see the town fireworks from the side of the balcony. The house was as advertised and we had no issues. It would be more convenient if the outside staircase was attached to the balcony instead of outside the fence.

The upstairs was a more modern area. The pool was excellent. It would have been helpful if we had an instructional booklet on how to operate the water temperature of the pool and how to operate the hot tub. The only drawback is that the stairway to the upstairs is located outside of the property. Other than that we would are interested in renting the property again.
