Hotel location and staff are OK

Cleanliness of rooms - serious remark on this! On the date of arrival we found a death cockroach on the pillow + ants in the bed. That first night was a nightmare. The staff was not able to offer us a new room for the night. On the next day we moved to another room - it was more spacious + terrace with some beds outside. My kids decided to have a sleep there and on the next two days they were all covered with pimples... Probably it was caused by bed bugs because the pimples appeared within 1-2 days after they slept there. Not to comment the cleanliness of the rooms in general - a lot of dust, no regular change of clean glasses, etc.... We also had problems with payments as the hotels charged my card several times. The explanation is that the payment system was blocked when I processed the payment and it did not recognize it as successfully paid so they continued to charge my card every other day. The case is still to be discussed with the staff. Awaiting for resolution. Next, the pool - just to mention that it is all covered not with tiles but with vinyl (liner pool), not sure how this is reflected in the star rating of the hotel. In addition - facilities are very old, quality of towels - all different (new & old, some of them should be in the trash far ago), food - there is variety but the quality is not good. There is a lot to be said about the hotel, but in summary - if you look for a good quality 4 or 5***** hotel, clean & relaxing place, you should avoid Pestana Alvor!

We liked everything! We were lucky enough to get an upgrade to a fabulous suite with stunning sea views, but even without that, everything was really good. Very friendly, helpful, and polite staff, great selection, and good quality food at the breakfast buffet. The inside bar is extremely stylish and relaxing with very nice wines and beer for a reasonable price. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and in good condition. The location is perfect, right on the beautiful beaches with a short private pathway down. It is useful to have an indoor as well as an outdoor pool for cooler weather days. There is plenty of free parking in the pleasant grounds. We have stayed at several different places in Alvor, including two other Pestanas, but Alvor Praia Premium is the best by far, and I would happily recommend it.

The only tiny thing is that the indoor pool is rather a strange shape, which makes swimming lengths rather awkward, but that in no way detracted from our stay.

Breakfast was exceptional.Great seaview.Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.Location was superb.

The air conditioning could have been better.

Incredible location - couldn’t be nicer having a sea view room (really worthwhile booking sea view!). Hotel facilities are brilliant (swimming pool is great, tennis courts, access to beach is seamless (1 minute), pool table, spa, shop, poolside bar etc). The staff are fantastic. Breakfest is a dream. Hotel is clean and elegant.

Hotel could seek to hold more entertainment for guests at night time - music was live in the bar 2 nights which was great. Sauna and steam room could be hotter but when it’s summer, your probably not going to spend your time here!!

awesome elevator to beach from pool. nice place to hang during poor weather condition with saunas and inside pool. great Atlantis restaurant down on the beach. make a reservation ASAP

too far from Lagos. Full bed was well worn. mosquitoes got in the room when the maid left the slider open. AC was not adequate to cool the room

Hotel run down , this is not a 5 star hotel

Cadre idyllique, personnel très agréable , chambre spacieuse et très confortable

Die Lage etwas außerhalb der Stadt, dafür direkt am Strand mit sehr schönen fußläufigen Buchten!

Der 70er Jahre-Bau ist schon ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen, alles etwas „alt“.
