The location was perfect, the room was great to spend out weeding night

Always a lovely experience coming to The Angel. The decor and fittings are beautiful and the hotel always sees to those extra touches which make such a difference.
Breakfast can be slow and a little disorganised. Delicious when it comes but it takes a long time.

A centrally located hotel with very attractive outlook. Lovely, helpful staff. Very pleasant dinner. Parking service was excellent.
We were disappointed with the room. On the first floor, overlooking the abbey. The carpet and parts of the walls were stained. The shower head didn’t work at all well. Hotel refunded wine at dinner for inconvenience. Pictures on the wall were squint. The room had an unloved air about it. We paid a lot for this room. It wasn’t worth it. Even a coat of paint would have transformed it.

Great location - reception and bar and breakfast areas looked great. Given a disabled room access room downstairs which didn’t look like any of the rooms in the photos and definitely not worth the £216 I paid. I didn’t ask for this.
There was always a queue for reception- I may have appeared at busy times. The parking was full but fortunately was free outside at the times I needed. Staff quite clinical.

Excellent welcome as we booked in. The car was parked for us, all very convivial. Breakfast the next morning was superb, all freshly cooked.

The decor of the hotel and room is beautiful, with a comfortable bed and nice toiletries.
The staff is amazing. The hotel porter even de-iced my car's windscreen in the morning. Top service!
Outstanding breakfast and the bar is open until 4 am (if you are a guest).

Room expensive for what it was. Dog crying constantly next door. Shower very poor and temperature constantly fluctuated. Bed uncomfortable.

Location excellent, staff helpful and friendly. Room large and well furnished.
Heating not on in room prior to arrival and didn’t work in bathroom at all. Cafetière with one sachet of caffeinated coffee rather 1970’s.

Breakfast was sub par; had avocado on toast and the toast was burnt and the avocado wasn’t ripe and hard! Left most of it but they took it off my bill.
I requested the hotel room be decorated for my partners 30th and posted up the decorations. This was never done with no explanation or apology, never received the decorations back. The room was dusty could see it on the furniture and the bathroom was tiny had mould on the walls. Couldn’t turn the tap on fully as it had been fitted too close to the sink! A really disappointing stay for the price we paid for a special occasion.

Hotel is right in the centre, opposite the Abbey. The hotel has had a refurb on the ground floor and the restaurant and bar ares and lounge areas are very nice.
The rooms are good although ours was looking out over the air conditioning units and the kitchen so was very noisy and smelly
Better room would have helped.
