for a 4 star hotel there was no restaurant Friday to Sunday, also no bar on the same days. you couldn’t get a hot drink during the day when I asked they were busy making hot drinks for conferences clients and not hotel guests. This hotel is not for tourists it mainly caters for business clients holding conferences and staying at the hotel.

The location in Monfalcone is quiet in a nice residential area.

If you’re looking for a bit of Iron Curtain charm in terms of decor, maintenance and service, look no further. 1. The room we stayed in was run down, dirty and badly maintained. 2. The bathroom light only switched on at the third try. The bathroom was superficially cleaned (i.e. ‘someone once waved a cloth through the door opening’). The shower doors closed like the doors of a rusty Lada, left out for more than thirty years in a freezing tundra. 3. The beds had all the comforts of a warehouse shelve - also talking about the linen here. 4. The personnel blended in seamlessly with the overall state of the place in terms of friendliness. The receptionist only waved at me when he gestured me to step through the doors rapidly so the morning cold wouldn’t get to him. 5. The breakfast is narrowly average at best if your standard is to fill and not to eat. 1/10 would not stay again.

Great location, near the airport, spacious hotel in a historical building with convenient parking upfront. Classic breakfast, room size ok and comfortable bed. Would recommend if staying in Monfalcone.
