We had room 1 - one of two beach villas. Room 1 has the morning sun and Room 2 had the later afternoon sun. The bedroom was clean, cosy, and freshly painted with all your basic amenities. Off the bedroom was a good-sized walk-in wardrobe/changing area which lead into a large bathroom with a great shower. The resort has an absolutely incredible beach area, so quiet and peaceful, no disturbance at all. The cleanest and calmest beach on the island, it was like waking up in paradise. The sun loungers on the beach were well-maintained and you can get bar service to the lounger. They even swept the sand on the beach outside the hotel every morning so that it appeared smooth! The bar and restaurant were very expensive but very high-quality, you get what you pay for and the quality or the food and drinks was reflected in the price. We ate dinner at the restaurant one night and it was one of the best meals we had on our whole trip. I had a seared tuna steak with squid ink fettuccini and curried cream sauce, very fresh, unique and delicious. The location of the resort is set back from the noise of the main road, located in Mae Nam's Chinatown with a beautiful and colourful Chinese temple on the small lane just outside the resort. There are great little cheap restaurants and coffee places about 1-5 minutes walk up the road if you don't want to pay the breakfast prices at the resort restaurant. There's not much within walking distance up on the main road, but there are a handful of bars, massage places and cheap but good quality restaurants between the resort and the main road, so you're not totally stuck for places to go if you don't have a bike. A walk down the beachfront and you'll find a few more places to eat and drink.

The bed had seen better days. You could feel the springs and it had dipped in at the middle, pretty uncomfortable but not un-sleepable. Even just a mattress topper would fix it. The hot water stopped working after day 1, but we didn't need hot water in 30-degree heat so didn't bother telling reception. My dad, who lives in fisherman's village up the road, visited us at the resort. He didn't enter the room, just sat on the patio, he stayed for about 20 minutes and then left. The next day we had a staff member from reception come up to the room and tell us that housekeeping had reported that we have a 3rd person staying with us in the room, we thought he was joking so we laughed it off and said no. We didn't understand that he was referring to my dad who visited the resort for 20 minutes the day before. We were met with quite a persistent and accusatory attitude from the staff member who appeared to not believe us and it took some convincing on our part to assure him that it was just the two of us staying in the room. He could've just checked the security cameras or any other member of staff for verification that it was just two people. Unfortunately, the confrontation made us feel uneasy and untrusted which soured the rest of our stay.

The Cosy is a lovely, little boutique hotel with comfortable bungalows, great restaurant, gorgeous beachfront and pool, and lovely, friendly, smiling local staff. I usually would give this hotel a 10. However….the hotel had horrendously loud building construction during my 7 day stay.

The minute I made my booking, I received a confirmation email stating I needed to pay on arrival. That was fine. What the owners failed to mention in the email was that the hotel was under construction. It’s simple common curtesy for the owners to warn guests about any construction. To be fair, the building construction is at one end of this tiny property, across a small laneway. However, as it is incredibly loud, you can hear the construction all over the property. My bungalow was next to the construction, but all bungalows would be able to hear the noise. The construction started at 8am and finished between 8-9pm. For 12 hours a day, you hear construction. The construction is 7 days a week. To add insult to injury, the workers bring their children to the site, and unfortunately the children start yelling and screaming from 8am to 8-9pm. I was incredibly disappointed that I wasn’t warned about the construction when I made my booking. I feel that this is disrespectful towards the guests. What was meant to be a relaxing beach holiday, was certainly not.

We booked only for two guests for a night and payed in the hotel for our two kids 200 Baht extra. Later we got an email that we didn’t follow Booking.com rules, however we payed in the hotel the extra fee which is very unfair. Additionally we stayed for an extra week and payed the high cost for this tiny bungalow with hundreds of mosquitoes. Our kids were bitten big time and then they made us charge the bed sheet because there were blood stains from itching. This is outrageous and does not show a good service. For this extremely high rate that they charged us (5o/night) you can eat better on that beautiful island of Kho Samui. We are VERY disappointed by this hotel which had no flair. We stayed for three weeks on the island and that’s the worst Thai experience we’ve had!

Uncomfortable bed

Very friendly and cheerful staff. Bungalows are spacious and well furnished with comfortable beds, minibar, TV , good hot showers are excellent WiFi. The restaurant has a good menu and cheerful staff. Good swimming pool Very near walking street, restaurants, bars.

very nice & small resort, fantastic beach with very few people, plenty of sun beds, small infinity pool, nice restaurant, super rich breakfast, every room is a bungalow with high standard bathroom, air con, flatscreen TV (which we didn’t use), cocktail bar. The outstanding staff completes the perfect holiday atmosphere: back office, bar, Restaurant and room mades did a fantastic job.

If I have to mention a little thing: Other then announced, there is no tour booking office. but you don’t need it, you’ll find it online easily.

We loved the bungalow right on the beach. The atmosphere was wonderful, peaceful, very friendly owner and staff. Excellent service, super friendly and polite. Nice size resort not too big which gave us a homey feeling. Comfortable and casual. Very clean rooms, pool and beach. Hot shower, cool AC and fan, slept really well. Kettle and coffee, mini fridge. I loved the walk in closet area with shelves and safe - next to bathroom. Patio was awesome! Special shout out to the chefs - all our meals were delicious both Thai and English dishes. They even brought our orders right to our patio ❤️The wait staff were our favorites 😍 location was very convenient and close to many stores, 7/11 and street vendors. Laundry service, scooter rental, car rental right next door. Highly recommend. Wish we could stay longer 🙂

The Beach was very nice, clean and calm. Someone in the comments before said that Beach View Bungalow No 2 would have the best view. But I can tell there is no difference to the other Beach View Bungalows. In all you have a wonderfull view right from the bed. In most (if not all) bungalows you can hear the sea at night. Very relaxing.

Nothing really bothering there. Breakfast is no huge XXL buffet or so. But it is sufficient and sustainable because waist is avoided ;P
