We have been to the Ramada many times before and really loved it. Found the Barrington 1 bedroom unit very uncomfortable beds left us both with backache and sofas so uncomfortabletoo,lacking privacy, and only a side view of water, mainly view of car park. Staff were nice and did give us a late checkout and a promise of a better location next time...

Location is absolutely fantastic, wish I could stay more and not just one night. Only a short stroll from the Tomaree Mountain, beach right across the road, lots of food outlets and other entertainment. Resort facilities are excellent, with 2 pools and 3 spas readily available. Staff super helpful, accommodating, and absolutely lovely.
I chose the Beachfront room, and that was beachfront indeed, BUT only from the living area. The bedroom was small, had no windows at all, and was located right near the entrance door so you could hear people walking by. Also due to it having no windows, the aircon had to be on and it was quite noisy. Just it would be good for people to know that.

Poor customer service. Was pouring rain for entire duration of our stay and as we couldn’t use the free outdoor activity facilities we simply asked if we could use the games room to which we were told only “Club” members could. This was incredibly short sighted and they missed the mark. That simple gesture of letting us use a room that wasn’t even being used would have gone a long way

Location on the water was lovely, was great for me as the conference I attended was on the same premises. Check in was fast but lots of info given that was a bit confusing on how to get into carpark, lots of sheets given and a try on selling me a session to buy a Wyndham package.
The view into a laneway was not great and there were some maintenance things to be done in the room - not to the usual Ramada standard. Water damage in the corner of the loungeroom, cracked tile next to the vanity, water damage to the bottom of the vanity. Beds were hard. Would have been good to know we had to climb into a tub for the shower as well as both of us had recently had lower limb surgeries and found that slightly difficult.

Location, directly opposite the scenic bay. For winter activity we found the shoreline path and coastal walks very enjoyable. Shops and cafes are also handy.
Our one bedroom suite was well laid out, with full kitchen and large balcony.
Check-in took way too long, even after reaching the counter.
There was no standard reading lamp in our living area...The ceiling light was too dim to be able to read our books etc.

Location and view are exceptional. All rooms are very generous and nicely furnished. A dream Kitchen, vey spacious with all you need in a kitchen. The balcony is a dream again.

Never been to Shoal Bay, we were very lucky in our choice of location & accommodation.

Very good location, well equipped appartment
Staff at welcome desk over-excited, and difficult to understand. Apartment in urgent need of renovation; dirty and used armchairs, glaring white/blueish light also in living room section and bedrooms; garage door did not work.

The only good thing was the indoor pool and spa!
When I received the confirmation email the times we could check in was different to what staff at the resort tolled us.
The staff was very unhelpful like they don't want to be there and it seemed that we have inconvenienced them even we are paying $375 per night.
On Saturday morning we woke up to surage smell that was unbearable to stay in the appartment. The staff confirmed indirectly that those kind of incidents do happen but they did not offer any reasonable solution.
The appartment carpet was soo full of stains, kitchen amaneties were filthy dirty, bathroom fan was not working and it was soo dirty that I felt like puking. Bedsheets had stains on them and I got a very bad rash outbreak on my face which I'm still recovering from. On the last day we have been told by the staff that we have to be out of the appartment by 10am otherwise it will cost us an additional $50 per hour but in the confirmation email from booking.com stated 12pm.
Overall apartment is run down and needs renovations and we had to pay $375 per night which was a rip-off. I do not recommend staying at this resort because you will be charged 5 star accommodation for barely in reality being 2 stars! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE

The room was spacious and the staff were lovely. The location was great.
Our room was out the back through a carpark - felt like you were going through the staff exit to get to your room.
The room was large but our shower went from scorching hot to Luke warm and back again every 30 seconds - we rang to complain and they said they would send someone out immediately- we waited hours (so lost half a day of a 3 day holiday) waiting for the plumber - he was lovely and fixed it but after he left we discovered our bathroom was now full of dirt from his boots - the rooms don’t get serviced so we were then stuck with a dirty bathroom for the rest of the trip as we weren’t prepared to waste more of our holiday waiting for housekeeping to arrive.
The fan also made a constant clicking noise and the fridge froze everything.
I did make a complaint as I checked out and was told I could wait for the manager - I said I didn’t have time to wait and that he could contact me to discuss it - which he never did. It left a very disappointing finish to the holiday. I would not stay there again.

My husband and I have been going to the Ramada in Shoal Bay for years. In fact, we got married at the Ramada.
This visit, was for our 10th wedding anniversary and the Ramada staff really did spoil us with beautiful decorations on our bed, a bottle of champagne, a box of lovely chocolates and a card from the staff. Thank you for making our wedding anniversary so special.
We love everything about the Ramada, the location, the restaurants, the bay, the people, the staff. Everyone is so friendly and so accommodating. It is a beautiful spot to visit if ever you get the chance.

Th sofa bed that I moved to when my daughter kept sleeping in our bed was extremely uncomfortable and the bedding such as blankets and doona was very uncomfortable.

Whitesands section of hotel is not serviced daily. Not part of the experience we wanted. Expected to have the hotel experience with fresh sheets for 3 days or making the bed and not do it ourselves etc
Also asked for room away from lifts and got one right next door to lifts after booking 8 weeks ahead.

When we arrived at 12.15 the reception staff asked the other staff member “booking.com” people don’t check in till 2pm. I realise we are not guaranteed to check in early but felt like we were lower class. We were told they would call us when room ready. At 3.30pm we came back from beach to be told our room still was not ready. When I expressed that this was not good enough I had been told they had 72 check outs that day. Should be normal for a Sunday morning. We were given a $25 voucher and told to go into the pool for a swim and they would call. By 5.45 pm we were desperate for a shower and to get ready for dinner. We were told that our room was ready and they had not called us but could see that we should have been. Whilst we were provided another 3 $25 vouchers I feel it’s still not good enough. We still checked out at 9.30am. Great location which is why we stayed but when we used a voucher for a cocktail we were given a buzzer and told we would have to go upstairs to get it once it went off. When we said that this seemed strange when we picked them up we were told if we had been nice to the bar staff they would have bought it to us. Not sure what that means when we were more than nice to your staff and patient. We love Shoal Bay but definitely rethink next time where we would stay.
