Breakfast and kitchen staff was excellent. Location was excellent. Rooms beautiful, very clean and super comfortable.

The staff was really rude. Gave us only one key so I got locked out in the middle of the night at one point. The receptionist tried to blackmail us and made up a bunch of fines and insisted that we needed to pay these fines in cash. We really did not like our stay here and we even left one night early and checked into another hotel instead.

Excelsior is a beautiful traditional house sitting at the heart of a lovely wine estate. The level of service from the Excelsior team is exceptional. Kirsten and Michelle are so helpful and James is just brilliant. Breakfast by the pool is a perfect start to the day and we enjoyed great dinners each evening.

What a magical pocket of Stellebosch. Behind the door of Hook Manor, we felt like we were in a little oasis of comfort and frendliness. Ilse and her wonderful colleagues took exceptional care of us. The room is spacious and comfortable, the breakfast is exceptional, the location in Stellenbosch is close to restaurants and bars, and the parking makes it ideal for visiting vineyards. It is clear that the owner and the staff have taken special cate to showcase the historical uniqueness of this beautiful property. We certainly will be back to these great hosts.

The location is exactly where we wanted to be in the heart of the town, there was also parking which is a bonus especially in that part of town. The room was spacious, clean and provided us with everything we needed. Overall a great place to stay and would definitely go back.

The load shedding is an issue, no lights in the bathroom during load shedding and in mid summer you need a rechargeable fan or an Aircon.

A beautiful property in a wonderful town. Room attractively furnished, spotlessly clean and all members of staff friendly and very welcoming. Quickly resolved an issue for me in arranging an emergency dental appointment.

Crystals breakfast was phenomenal, location was great, room was well equipped.

Plug under TV didn’t work, not a big issue as we just used another plug for the kettle.

The location of the hotel is nice and central. Closeby are many restaurants and cafes. We loved the Cape Dutch style of the hotel and interior. The breakfast was fresh and the service good.

This property was situated on a quiet street in close proximity to shops and restaurants. An immaculately kept property with excellent caring staff.

The plumbing was noisy at times and the TV channels were poor and difficult to select. we would have preferred Internet based entertainment.
