Overall ambiance was fabulous with pools and tropical plants and decor in the hallfways. Excellent Plated Breakfast. Quiet room despite beeing close to town center (we were in an interior room). Excellent staff (Laura) at front desk and breakfast. Walkable to almost everywhere though from tourist perspective it is a small town.

Room Airconditioner was barely adequate. On a real hot day it would be uncomfortable. Adequate light in the main part of the room and bathroom but it was so dark by the closet and safe, I had to use a flash light to find things. Strongly recommend a small light in or by the closet. Water pressure was erratic. Beds a bit on stiffer side on par with european and south american standards, OK for me but some travellers may find them uncomfortable.

They provided a large breakfast with coffee and juice that fuels you for the day. The staff was very friendly and helpful with booking my activities. Location is right off the square and convenient to get around.

Room was clean but it was sparse and basic. Decor and bathroom was outdated.

Loved staying at the Hotel Colonial, mainly because of the amazing staff. Luis and Laura at the front desk were so helpful and friendly, the staff working during breakfast hours were also fantastic. Everyone spoke English very well. In terms of the hotel itself, it is of a very traditional style, with two outdoor pools and lots of little areas you can sit and relax. Very central location but still manages to be quiet/peaceful which was perfect for me as I’m a light sleeper. Breakfast was great with the choice of the tipico breakfast (eggs, rice and beans, fresh fruit, coffee, juice) and the continental (same as above except the rice is replaced with yoghurt and granola). It’s a very filling and satisfying breakfast. Towels were of a fluffy and good quality. Shower pressure was decent.

The bed was a little hard for me but that’s just my preference. The curtains in the rooms are very thin and let in light - would be good to have blinds or curtains with thicker fabric. Bathroom door didn’t close and got stuck/was very creaky. There were no channels/signal on the TV. They only provide private transportation for tours. It would be good if they could provide group tours too, to suit all budgets. Saves people looking for tours when they are short on time. They only provided one bottle of water on my first day - it would be good to have a place guests can refill their water bottles with filtered water. Small issues, I’m being picky, overall this was a great place to stay.

Beautiful building, rooms, beds very comfy. Breakfast lots of food, specially for Nica standards. Stasfvhelped us a lot with nice trips and transport!

A sweet little boutique hotel just off the main town square. Great friendly happy helpful front desk staff. Gorgeous central courtyard. Two choices for the included individually prepared breakfast: a bit meager but adequate. Parking on the street in front. Only people in the hotel were guests, which is good, no transients. Far quieter than hotels on the main square. My room was large and a bit dated tile in bath but well maintained and an utterly comfortable enormous bed and well functioning shower.
