Lovely neighborhood, though very isolated and dates back to Middle Ages. Streets very clean even. Mountains. Hostel service excellent, responded to all needs. Very polite. Secure entries and locks. Control for AC

Just need a car or to use buses to find amenities except 1 or 2 restaurants in walking distance, but not unpleasant at all.

It was a comfortable room; clean and private. The decor was very nice, I liked the building materials used.

I didn't like the distance to the city centre. I had to walk it there. The road was not suitable for pedestrians. I needed transportation to leave the hostel. The staff there were aware of it when I arrived. When it came to leaving the person in charge (it was a woman) was not going call for the taxi. Luckily I made prior arrangements for transportation. I thought that was absolutely disgraceful of the woman who had showed me my room. I assume she is the owner. I needed to ask her a question after I arrived, she was not available at the hostel to talk to. I had to call her on the telephone. When I asked her about the kitchen facilities she said there wasn't one and simply hung up. This was not the service I expected from them. I'm sure she could understand what I needed from the words I had said in Spanish, particularly 'supermercado' and 'taxi'. Her communication needed to be a lot better especially for someone who owns a hostel were foreigners might be staying.

Overnight stay for hiking in Orihuela mountain trails. Nice restaurant and bar adjacent. Got a ride into town in the morning at the local cafe.

The gentleman who seen to our arrival was very friendly, and attentive could not have had better. The room was small but comfortable also very comfortable bed, couldn't fault this hostel

Bearing in mind that this is a hostal, not a hotel, it was very good value for money. The room was basic but clean and equipped with everything I needed for an overnight stay. I'd recommend it for anyone who simply needs a room for the night.

There isn't always anyone on reception so I had to call the owner and wait 10 minutes for her to arrive and check me in. But then it's a small business and when the owner arrived, she was more than helpful.
